GROUND FORCE I'm a gardening pro – do my essential £2.49 Home Bargains hack now to bring your bulbs back next year
It's that tricky time between spring and summer bulbs.
Your daffodils need deadheading, while your tulips are probably nearing the end.

Deadheading daffodils is a way of boosting the bulb for next year

And instead of gorgeous bright blooms filling your outside space with colour, chances are that by now that bank of bulbs could look a bit past its peak.
It begs the question though - what DO you do with all those straggly, half munched leaves making a mess in your beds?
What you DON'T want to do - is cut away all the green leaves from your daffodils and tulips, even if they're getting on your nerves.
It may look like they're over it - but they're actually creating energy to store in the bulb and packing it with nutrients - to make sure it can go again next year.
And make sure you definitely deadhead - this stops both tulips and daffodils from wasting time making seeds - and helps them focus on the bulb itself.
Some experts recommend plaiting the leaves - so at least they're tidy while they're soaking up the sun.
I've done this - its actually a really mindful exercise, and at least makes it look tidy if nothing else.
And others reckon you should dig up the bulbs to store until they need planting again.
I've never done this - life's too short and I don't have the space to store them.
However there is a key handy hack you can do right now - which should boost the bulbs energy levels in the hope they'll bless you with a 2026 showgarden.
Gardener shares 'genius' bulb planting hack that will give your months of spring flowers & it takes seconds to do
Give them a decent dose of liquid feed this weekend - ideally a high potassium fertiliser - but any liquid feed will do.
Home Bargains are currently selling Westland All Purpose Plant Food for just £2.49.
It contains seaweed, which is a great addition to any plant feed.
Just give them a regular dose until the foliage has completely died out - and you're giving them the best chance to return again next year.
Once the leaves have yellowed, you can get stuck in - they should come away in your hands really easily.
And then just pray to the bulb Gods that they'll come back to bless you next year.

Inside Marcus Rashford's on-off romance with childhood sweetheart Lucia Loi from LA engagement to Barcelona reunion

The forward has joined the LaLiga giants from Manchester United on a loan with an option to buy for the 2025/26 season. 9 Marcus Rashford has rekindled his relationship with Lucia Loi Credit: Getty 9 She was often seen at games supporting the forward Credit: Getty 9 Rashford and Lucia started dating when they were at school Credit: lucialoi/instagram 9 However, their relationship has not been plain sailing Credit: Getty Rashford, 27, will be hoping the move to Spain can see him regain the form that made him one of the best in the Premier League. And he will have plenty of support from the pitchside from partner Luica. She was present while Rashford took part in his Barcelona photoshoot before his unveiling at the Camp Nou. SunSport understands that the Red Devils exile asked Lucia, 26, to help him settle in Spain to allow him to focus on football. They were spotted together at the recording of his Barcelona announcement video. PR guru Lucia could be seen taking a picture of Rashford and checking his new shirt. The couple first met while they were attending Aston on Mersey School in Manchester. They were in a relationship as Rashford made his stunning debut for Man United in the Europa League against FC Midtjylland in February 2016. SUN VEGAS WELCOME OFFER: GET £50 BONUS WHEN YOU JOIN It was a memorable match for the forward as he marked his competitive debut with a brace during the 5-1 win at Old Trafford. The relationship hit a rocky patch in 2021 during the Covid pandemic as they split, but only to reconcile the next year. Barcelona announce loan signing of Man Utd forward Marcus Rashford In June 2022, Rashford proposed to Lucia with a £250,000 engagement ring after enjoying a romantic meal at Catch LA in West Hollywood, California. He shared a picture of the moment on social media, which showed the pair sharing a kiss. The smooch was snapped as they stood in front of a stunning heart-shaped flower arrangement. Lucia was a regular backer of Rashford as she was often spotted in the Old Trafford stands cheering him on. 9 The couple got engaged in 2022 Credit: Instagram 9 Rashford proposed in West Hollywood, California Credit: INstagram 9 Lucia was spotted with Rashford as he recorded content with Barcelona Credit: x 9 Rashford has joined the Spanish giants on loan Credit: Getty However, their engagement ended in June 2023 after the England international was seen with a model outside a Miami hotel. At the time, SunSport exclusively revealed that they broke up because the relationship had "run its course". Lucia had gone on a social media blackout but returned the following month by leaving her "social media grave". The couple stayed in contact and even had dinner in Manchester later that year. Rashford was at the time romantically linked to model and former Love Island contestant Grace Jackson, but that is believed to have ended in December 2023. A source has said that despite the fizzling of their engagement, they have continued to remain friends and have grown close again. They added: "Marcus knows that some of the best moments in his career have occurred when Lucia has been at his side. "They got together when they were very young and have had ups and downs, but a friendship has always remained. 9 "He knows that she is good for him and she is one of the few people in the world he knows has got his best interests at heart. "She is very sensible and helps keep him grounded." Meanwhile, Rashford will be the first England international to wear Barcelona colours since Gary Lineker. The former Match of the Day host played there for three years between 1986 and 1989. And he has been rewarded with the club's iconic No.14 shirt that has previously been worn by the likes of Johan Cruyff and Thierry Henry.

We ditched the UK for Cyprus & now get year-long sun, bills are so cheap, we work half as much & have even bought a home
EXPAT ESCAPE We ditched the UK for Cyprus & now get year-long sun, bills are so cheap, we work half as much & have even bought a home A MUM has revealed why she packed up her life in the UK for sunny Cyprus. The mum-of-two took to social media to share how they moved to the country after Brexit. Advertisement 3 The Manns family ditched the UK for sunny Cyprus Credit: tiktok/@themannsofficial 3 The pair say life is much easier now and it's cheap too Credit: tiktok/@themannsofficial 3 The couple spend their time off exploring the island and don't plan to leave Credit: Getty In one clip, shared on The Mann's TikTok account, she and her partner said their plan A was to stay in England. Describing her life pre-Cyprus, she said it was a comfortable life and they could go on one to two holidays a year. But she said the limited hot weather and 'overworked' culture was something they wanted to ditch. They then decided they wanted more and headed to the sunny island to live out their dream. Advertisement Now, they get hot weather all year round and no longer need to go on holiday abroad as there's so much to do on the island. She said they also had a better quality of life out there which was more slow-paced. The mum was also happy to say that her two children, who are in primary school, are now going to a local Greek school and have become bilingual. The mum revealed that they rent out properties in the UK to make income and she also works as a wedding planner in Cyprus. Advertisement She revealed you need to earn £36,000 a year to live in Cyprus and you can work in the country if you are self-employed. The family have gone on to buy a house there to make it their forever home, and she says bills are super cheap too. All the free activities Cyprus has to offer For electricity, they spend around £87 a month, £17 on water, £13 on gas and £100 on council tax in a single year. Before buying their own property, she said rent for a two-bed villa with a pool was around £1,300 a month. Advertisement The mum said that their 'plan B' for life has been going very well for them, and they don't see themselves heading back to the UK anytime soon. She said: "It's such a massive decision to leave your 'normal', weighing up all the options, writing down lists of pros and cons (we actually did this). "But we didn't want to live with any regrets and we always knew that the UK isn't going anywhere. If it didn't work out, at least we tried! Luckily it has!" The clip was posted to their TikTok account @themannsofficial and went viral with over 138k views and 3,200 likes. Advertisement Moving house hacks 1. Declutter Before You Pack Sort through your belongings and get rid of anything you no longer need. Donate, sell, or recycle items to lighten your load. 2. Create an Inventory Make a list of all your items. This helps keep track of everything and ensures nothing gets lost in the move. 3. Use Quality Packing Materials Invest in sturdy boxes, bubble wrap, and packing tape. This will protect your belongings during the move. 4. Label Everything Clearly label each box with its contents and the room it belongs to. This makes unpacking much easier and more organized. 5. Pack a 'First Day' Box Include essentials like toiletries, a change of clothes, snacks, and important documents. This will keep you from rummaging through boxes on your first day. 6. Take Photos of Electronics Setup Before unplugging your electronics, take photos of the wiring setup. This will make it easier to reconnect everything at your new place. 7. Use Suitcases for Heavy Items Pack books and other heavy items in rolling suitcases. This makes them easier to transport and reduces the risk of injury. 8. Colour-Code Your Boxes Use different coloured stickers or markers for each room. This will help movers quickly identify where each box should go in your new home. People were quick to share their thoughts in the comments. One person wrote: "This is so helpful! The price on council tax, water and gas, pennies compared to the UK!" Another commented: "I used to work in Rhodes and would love to go back! Since Brexit, I thought it would not be possible. This gives me hope, so thank you!" "Currently in the process of Plan B!
