Madikeri: People are being made to believe that the central NDRF grant is a state govt grant, alleged
Yaduveer Wadiyar
, Mysore MP.
Speaking at a public grievance meeting held at the Gonikoppa Durga Boji Hall, he said the state govt has reached financial bankruptcy by giving various benefits.
Therefore, development works are not progressing not only in the district, but across the state, he said.
Taking a dig at the Congress govt, Yaduveer said a caste census survey was conducted spending Rs 169 crore, but still, the report was not disclosed. He urged that people should develop the attitude of questioning the alleged mismanagement of money by the govt. "There is no need for us to openly tell the scams of the state govt. The functionaries of the Congress party themselves are exposing it," Yaduveer stated.

Trump Signs ‘One Big Beautiful Bill Act': What It Means For Indians And High-Income Americans

Last Updated: The bill, passed by both chambers of Congress, includes several measures that will impact Indian families and workers abroad US President Donald Trump signed into law the 'One Big Beautiful Bill Act" on Friday during a Fourth of July picnic at the White House, bringing sweeping changes to taxes, remittances, and federal spending. The bill, passed by both chambers of Congress, includes several measures that will impact Indian families and workers abroad, as well as raise fresh questions about tax breaks for high-income Americans. 'This is the most patriotic bill ever passed," Trump said during the signing. 'We are putting American families, American jobs, and American values first." Impact On Indians: Remittance Tax One of the bill's key provisions is a 1 per cent levy on international money transfers made by non-US citizens, including green card holders and workers on temporary visas. The tax applies to remittances sent using cash, money orders, or cashier's cheques. India, the world's largest remittance recipient, could be significantly affected. According to the Reserve Bank of India, Indian nationals received $32.9 billion in remittances from the US in 2023-24, accounting for nearly 28 per cent of total inflows. The new levy, even at a reduced rate of 1 per cent — down from an earlier proposed 5 per cent— may strain households in states like Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, where remittances support education, healthcare, and housing. Tax Cuts For The Wealthy The law allows up to $10,000 in interest deductions on loans for buying new American-made vehicles. However, federal tax credits for electric vehicles — which offered up to $7,500 in incentives — will now end in September, four years ahead of schedule. Meanwhile, clean energy tax credits from the Biden era will be phased out entirely by 2028. Defence And Immigration Spending The bill also boosts military and immigration enforcement budgets, with $150 billion allocated for shipbuilding and missile defence, including Trump's 'Golden Dome" project. Another $100 billion has been directed to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to ramp up immigration crackdowns. One campaign promise that did make it through — a tax exemption on service industry tips — was included in the final law. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the new law will add $3.3 trillion to the federal deficit over the next decade. Notably, for many Indian families reliant on US remittances, even a modest 1 per cent tax could add up. At the same time, the law renews Trump-era tax cuts for the rich, intensifying debates over fiscal priorities and economic equity. "Safety is myth under BJP rule": Congress' Pawan Khera targets NDA govt over murder of businessman Gopal Khemka

Congress leader Pawan Khera came down heavily on the NDA government in Bihar over the prevailing law and order situation in the state, saying that safety has become a "myth" under their rule. His remarks came days after businessman Gopal Khemka was shot dead near the main gate of his residence in Patna's Gandhi Maidan area. In a social media post on X, Khera wrote, "The BJP's governance model is Goonda Raj wrapped in a velvet glove of PR about "development". All optics, no order." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like If you have a mouse, play this game for 1 minute Navy Quest Alleging that 65,000 people have been murdered under NDA's watch, Khera took a jibe at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar , stating that the Chief Minister has now become "Chief Spectator" of a daily carnage. The social media post reads, "In Bihar also, the NDA government never misses a chance to pat itself on the back for "improving" law and order - all while conveniently ignoring that, even as per official figures, nearly 65,000 people have been murdered under NDA's watch. The Chief Minister in reality is the Chief Spectator of a daily carnage." Live Events "Now, with the killing of businessman Gopal Khemka in Patna's posh Gandhi Maidan area, it's clear that under BJP rule, safety is a myth. No amount of money, influence, or power can ensure your safety and that of your loved ones. The bottomline is: BJP doesn't value human life. It only chases headlines, and even those are fake," the Congress leader alleged. Earlier today, Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha , Rahul Gandhi launched an all-out attack on the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government in Bihar, alleging that Bihar has become "crime-capital" of India. The murder of the businessman has evoked sharp political reactions from the opposition parties and put the spotlight back on the law and order situation in the State, which is going to the polls in the next few months. In a post on social media platform X in hindi, Rahul Gandhi said, "The brazen murder of businessman Gopal Khemka in Patna has once again proven - the BJP and Nitish Kumar together have turned Bihar into "India's crime capital." Today, Bihar lives in the shadow of loot, gunfire, and murder. Crime has become the 'new normal' here - and the government is utterly ineffective" "Brothers and sisters of Bihar, this injustice can no longer be tolerated," he said. The former Congress President observed that a government that cannot ensure the safety of your children cannot be entrusted with your future either. "Every murder, every loot, every bullet - is a cry for change. Now is the time for a new Bihar - where there is no fear, only progress. This time, the vote is not just to change the government, but to save Bihar," he called on the voters ahead of the assembly elections. Bihar Police has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the murder case of businessman Gopal Khemka, who was allegedly shot dead in the south area of the Gandhi Maidan in Patna on Friday.

Union Health Minister JP Nadda, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta flag off Ayushman Bharat registration vans in New Delhi

Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare JP Nadda and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta flagged off Ayushman Bharat registration vans in Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Sunday. Addressing the event, the BJP chief slammed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for not using Rs 1700 crore under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme for public welfare. He said, "Under PM-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission, we had given Rs 1700 crore to Delhi between 2021 to February 2025, but not one penny was spent, and now the responsibility of the expenditure of this fund for the public welfare has fallen on the shoulders of (Delhi CM) Rekha ji." — ANI (@ANI) Continuing his attack against AAP, he added, "We were ready to quench Delhi's thirst with water, but you kept the vessel upside down, so what could be done? On February 20, you turned up the vessel, so you got Ayushman Bharat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was ready to provide Rs 5 lakh for the poor's healthcare since September 2, 2017. Their pride came in between. They did injustice to the poor." Live Events Lauding Ayushman Arogya Mandir , Nadda targeted Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinic and called AAP shortsighted. "A wise man is farsighted and thinks of Ayushman Arogya Mandir, and shortsighted ones bring Mohalla Clinics. From the time a mother conceives a child to the time the child turns two, Ayushman Arogya Mandir takes care of all the vaccinations. India is playing a lead role in reproductive and child health care," JP Nadda said. Last month, on June 17, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Ministers Parvesh Verma and Manjinder Singh Sirsa inaugurated Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in the national capital. After the inauguration, Manjinder Singh Sirsa informed that 33 Ayushman Aarogya Mandirs were inaugurated with excellent infrastructure and facilities. "A total of 33 Arogya Mandirs have been inaugurated today, and they have excellent infrastructure", Manjinder Singh Sirsa said. Meanwhile on May 18, in a major boost to healthcare under the Pradhan Mantri Vay Vandana Yojana , Delhi Minister Ashish Sood distributed Ayushman Bharat cards to senior citizens aged 70 and above in Janakpuri, West Delhi.
