Madikeri: People are being made to believe that the central NDRF grant is a state govt grant, alleged Yaduveer Wadiyar , Mysore MP. Speaking at a public grievance meeting held at the Gonikoppa Durga Boji Hall, he said the state govt has reached financial bankruptcy by giving various benefits. He urged that people should develop the attitude of questioning the alleged mismanagement of money by the govt. "There is no need for us to openly tell the scams of the state govt. Yaduveer inspects facilities atop Chamundi Hills ahead of Aashada Friday
Mysuru: A day ahead of the second Friday in the Hindu month of Aashada, during which over 1.5 lakh devotees are expected to throng the Chamundi Hills to have darshan of Goddess Chamundeshwari at Sri Chamundeshwari Temple, Mysuru MP Yaduveer Wadiyar visited the pilgrimage site and inspected the facilities provided to the devotees. Following public complaints of mismanagement during the first Aashada Friday on June 27, the MP reviewed the arrangements at the temple and inspected facilities in place for devotees. His inspection covered areas designated for Rs 2,000 special darshan tickets, Rs 300 tickets, and general darshan. Yaduveer held discussions with Sri Chamundeshwari Kshetra Development Authority secretary Roopa and instructed officials to immediately address the issues raised by devotees. He expressed concern over the Rs 2,000 ticket system, which has drawn criticism from the public. "Darshan of the Goddess must be accessible to all, not just to those who can afford special tickets," he said. He emphasised the need to revise the ticketing system and ensure fairness and inclusivity in temple access. While acknowledging that crowding and minor inconveniences are natural during peak seasons, Yaduveer urged the authorities to improve arrangements and ensure a smoother experience for all pilgrims.

MP for Mysuru Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar visited the Chamundi Hills on Thursday and apprised himself of the arrangements made for devotees who will visit the Chamundeshwari temple on the second Friday of the Ashada month. The visit followed public complaints that there was a lack of arrangements on the hilltop the last Friday. 'We had received complaints that devotees had faced several inconveniences on the first Ashada Friday. Hence, I visited the hill to inspect the arrangements. Directions have been issued to officials to ensure a hassle-free darshan for devotees,' he said. About the fees charged for paid darshan, Mr. Yaduveer said the issue was discussed with officials and deliberations have taken place to reduce the fee, and a decision would be taken in the coming days. 'All shops on the hills should only organic and chemical-free turmeric and vermillion,' he said. Mr. Yaduveer said that mobile phones should be banned inside the temple and photographs should be prohibited. 'A decision should be taken in this regard,' he added. Mr. Yaduveer extended his support to dress code for the Chamundeshwari temple. 'A dress code should be enforced, and I have been supportive of it. We should educate the next generation about our culture, traditions, and customs. People should visit religious places in a manner that respects the sanctity of the space,' he added. Tiger deaths condemned Reacting to the recent poisoning of five tigers in the M.M. Hills and the alleged mass killing of monkeys near Bandipur, Mr. Yaduveer said it was condemnable. The Forest Department should take strict actions in this regard, he added. He said that elected representatives of Chamarajanagar should have raised their voice against such killings, but they had not done that.
