Stone Mountain mayor says she wants to ‘clear up' allegations that could get her removed
Channel 2's Steve Gehlbach was at a news conference the mayor held on Tuesday morning where she claimed she did nothing wrong.
'I'm here to clear up a lot of matters, because this city needs to move forward in goodness and grace," Jones said.

Last month, councilmembers discussed concerns that Jones abused her authority as mayor and launched an investigation into whether she took control of the city's bank account.
They claimed that she removed names on the Downtown Development Authority's account at Truist and left just her own.
She denied removing any names and said she only acted after the bank warned her of a potential cybersecurity risk.
'It came up later that two employees were taken off. It was not my doing, I don't have that intent and don't have that capability,' she said.

The city has since taken back control of all financial accounts and removed her access to them.
Councilmembers says they will not vote on whether to remove Jones as mayor until the independent investigation is complete.
Jones claimed that bank officials asked her to remove four names of people who no longer work with the city.
Gehlbach asked her who those people are, but she declined to comment, saying she had their identities but did not want to share out of fear of litigation.

Court documents revealed that Torjagbo erifited that the company was opened on February 15, 2020. The 38-year-old said he had 493 employees who reside across the U.S., and had an average monthly payroll of nearly $4 million. In March 2021, Torjagbo received $9.6 million in a PPP loan. Officials said he used the PPP loan and tax refund to purchase the following: $1,677,861.01 for his home; $332,999.80 for a 2014 Lamborghini Aventador; $120,799.79 for a 2022 BMW M850xi; $90,520 for a 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Velar; $51,000 for the down payment on a 72-foot yacht; Over $1,000,000 for real estate, trucks, and trailers to start a new business; More than $15,000 for plastic surgery. Flagler Street reopens after 40-month closure, bringing hope and frustration
After more than three years of construction delays, two blocks of Flagler Street — one of Miami's most historic roadways — have finally reopened, bringing both renewed optimism and lingering frustration to downtown residents and business owners. The project, originally launched in 2019 through a partnership between the City of Miami, the Downtown Development Authority (DDA), and the Flagler Business Improvement District, aimed to modernize a five-block stretch of the century-old street. The makeover includes brick roads, widened curbless sidewalks for outdoor cafes, improved drainage, and a flexible "festival streetscape" designed to host large outdoor events. City crews reopened the first block on Saturday, followed days later by another in front of local business Bespoke Barber Pub. Owner Clara Henao celebrated the milestone. "I was so happy seeing the street open," she said. "I [said] wow. Finally the street is open. This is a plus because I think it will bring new people." With support from the DDA, Henao also secured a liquor license to add a bar to her barbershop, which she hopes will become a destination for men's grooming. Despite the recent progress, three other blocks of Flagler Street remain under construction. The project was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic and additional complications from aging infrastructure beneath the street. "There have been issues getting the contractor to stay on schedule, but the city is moving forward now," said Terrell Fritz of the Flagler Business Improvement District. Condo owner Daniel Tintle expressed frustration about the prolonged construction. "I bought a condo just down the street in 2021 and my neighbor at the time says, 'Oh, you're going to love it. They're just about to reopen Flagler Street,'" he said. "It is finally opening four years after I moved in, which was multiple years after she thought it was going to open." That neighbor has since moved away, disheartened by years of barricades and slow progress. Some businesses were forced to find creative solutions to stay visible, including placing signage on scaffolding with DDA assistance. Pedestrian access also remains challenging in certain areas, and Tintle voiced concerns about homelessness in the neighborhood. "The homeless have their spots where they stay, but here they've started to really call this home," he said. "So when they start to feel comfortable, more start to come in and then you have a lot of encounters, a lot of [them] late night." Despite setbacks, DDA Chief Financial and Operating Officer Ivonne Berrios believes momentum is shifting in the right direction. "This is one of the best ways to showcase how we were able to go through all those challenges and still have the success story today of these two sections open and looking forward to the rest," Berrios said. Officials say the completion of these first two phases should have a domino effect, accelerating the reopening of the remaining three blocks in the near future.

Micah Parsons' contract negotiations with Cowboys, Jerry Jones ‘getting personal'
Micah Parsons is looking to be among the richest players in the NFL, but it appears Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and he aren't seeing eye to eye. The contract talks between the Cowboys and Parsons are falling apart, and things are 'getting personal,' ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Tuesday. Parsons, 26, is in the final year of his rookie deal, after which he would likely be franchise tagged by the team. 3 Micah Parsonns has been in camp wtih the Cowboys. AP 'This sounds different to me. This sounds a little bit more personal from both sides,' Schefter said on the 'Pat McAfee Show.' 'The two sides have gone backwards, not forwards. There's really no conversation about getting a deal done.' This comes as Jones took a shot at Parsons for not staying healthy last season. 'Just because we sign him doesn't mean we're going to have him,' Jones said last week. 'He missed six games last year. Seriously.' Parsons missed four of the Cowboys' 17 games last season, racking up 12 sacks.
