When a house they loved came on the market for £543,500, they jumped at the chance to buy it.
But as soon as they stepped inside, they realised how much work was needed to transform the dated '90s horror' into the Scandi-style haven they envisioned.
With no DIY experience to speak of, the couple, aged 38 and 37, turned to YouTube tutorials to guide them through the renovation process.
Fortunately, their hard work paid off, boosting the value of their home by £106,000.

However, not everything went smoothly, and they now regret certain decisions they made during the project.
A video where they discuss their renovation mistakes has gone viral, racking up 5.4 million views and over 18,000 likes.
'I love our home, but I wish we didn't rush into things and always go with the cheapest quote,' the assistant underwriter, from Kent, told
'My piece of advice – always research the reviews of tradespeople.

Charlotte and Luke self-taught themselves the skills to spruce up their five-bedroom detached home, such as plastering, installing the kitchen and laying down flooring.
They used Screwfix, Toolstation, B&Q and Amazon as their go-to places for replacing almost every aspect of their home – and for a fresh lick of paint.

In the clip, she shows off their minimalist bathroom that cost £3,000 to transform.

Charlotte estimates it's going to cost another £500 to repair.
For now, though, they're focusing on adding more character and personality to their humble abode before taking on any other renovations.
She hopes sharing her home transformation journey will help others not to make the same mistakes they did.

M&S' new £3.80 picnic snack is even better than their £5.50 cult buy & here's more picky bits we guarantee will be a hit

WITH summer in full swing and the weather heating up, there's no better time to stock up on picky bits. Most read in Fabulous I have one very simple word to describe the two new loaded dips - unreal. The Topped Chicken Shawarma Dip is spiced, creamy and succulent, while the Topped Ploughman's Dip is a yummy statement on a British favourite. I'm a die-hard Aldi shopper but I trialled M&S for a week, I was so surprised, I'll definitely be back Both of which are £3.50 and are certainly worth the cash - you can expect unique and unmissable flavours in dips you've never seen before on the high street. While the Chicken Shawarma dip contains marinated pulled chicken and tangy pickled red onions, the Ploughman's buy is full of chutney, tender pulled ham hock and crunchy silverskin onions. Not only are they great with crisps, but they're so good they could even work as a sandwich filler too. Meanwhile, the Middle Eastern-inspired Labneh Dip has a vibrant basil and mint dressing and is crafted with creamy strained yoghurt. It's brilliant with breadsticks and is almost too good - so if you're trying to watch your waistline, buy it at your own risk. Another dip that gets a solid thumbs up from me is the Roasted Red Pepper and Walnut Dip. It's quite similar to I have one very simple word to describe the two new loaded dips - unreal Abby Wilson And if you want crunchy crisps that not only scream luxury but will pair perfectly with these dips, M&S have got you sorted. While I wasn't a fan of the Extra Virgin Olive Oil Crisps with Serrano Ham, the Extra Virgin Olive Oil Crisps with Black Truffle are delicious. They have a strong taste of truffle but are not too overpowering, and get a solid 10/10 rating from me. The crisps are also available in Mediterranean Sea Salt, which have a pretty average taste but I believe will be a crowd-pleaser. The crisps are all £3.75 a bag, so they're certainly not cheap, but they're said to contain 'exceptional-quality potatoes', which ensure delicate, golden crisps, that are great for dipping (or dunking in my case.) They're so good I scoffed one in a matter of seconds, but could easily eat the whole pack in just a few minutes - and at £3.80, while they're not that purse-friendly, they're certainly worth every penny. As well as tasting divine, if you ask me they're actually better than the cult favourite 'Best Ever Sausage Roll', which is also from The Dressed Giant Butterbeans is a random idea but it definitely works Abby Wilson But the M&S deluxe picky bits don't stop there - shoppers can also nab the new M&S Grilled Turkish Green Olives and the Spanish Mini Fuet (a type of pork sausage) and Cheese. If you hate parmesan and can't stand garlic then these aren't for you, but if you want something that's rich and perfect paired on a platter with pork pies and cold cuts of meat, this £3.90 should go straight in your basket. Irish father's pride at son's Wimbledon debut

An Irish father has told RTÉ of his excitement ahead of his son's Wimbledon debut. In 1987, when he was 22-years-old, Patrick McCabe moved to Austrlia with his brother where he worked as a labourer for "18 odd years". His son is just a year younger than he was then, and James Fernandez McCabe will play the iconic tennis tournament tomorrow. Patrick is originally from Greenhills, Walkinstown in Dublin and married Irene, originally from the Philippines. The couple also have a daughter, Jasmin "who is looking for an Irish passport", now that James has his, her dad said. Patrick trained his son using YouTube, as he did not have much money. Professional lessons were not an option as they were "reall, really, really expensive," he told RTÉ Radio's Oliver Callan. When James was "two or three", his father brought him down to a tennis court at the complex where they were renting in Rockdale near Sydney Airport. They they still go there to this day, Patrick said. "I got carried away early days," he conceded. "I was probably a bit hard on him... but you do what you have to do." He taught James to swim also, and the boy went on to become "national champion in both swimming and tennis". Patrick "started travelling with James for the last three years on the professional circuits", he said. 'I'm just grateful' James said he is "excited, grateful" and "it's a dream come through playing Wimbledon". But having the privilege to take the champions' tour - and see where his heros have gone before him - was a bit "overwhelming" and gave him "goosebumps". The 21-year-old spoke of his unusual upbringing. "That is my childhood. Maybe it wasn't normal at the time." "It builds character and without it I wouldn't be where I am now. So I'm just grateful. I'm lucky." He said as a child he used to get up around 4am, and start swimming training at 5am. At 7.30am he moved onto his music practice, which could be playing in an orchestra or marching band. He had a music lessons during breaks in his school day, and again after school. It was midnight before when he got to sleep - and that was his routine when he had "dropped the rackets", meaning when he had taken a break from tennis, from age 12 to 15. James is pitch perfect, plays piano, flute and guitar. Asked how he intends to approach the tournament, James said he plans to take one match at a time, as "it's every tennis players dream", and is also his father's dream, just to participate. He has three aunties in Ireland, one in Saggart, one in Blessington and one in Mullingar, and another Irish aunty in Sydney. He has been to Ireland four times.

Advertisement How to create privacy in your garden CREATING privacy in your garden can be achieved in a number of ways depending on your budget, and the size of your space. Here are some effective ways to enhance privacy in your garden: 1. Fencing Install a tall, solid wooden or vinyl fence. This is one of the most straightforward ways to gain immediate privacy. Or use lattice panels, trellis, or slatted fencing to add a decorative touch while still offering privacy. 2. Hedges and Plants Fast-growing evergreen shrubs or trees like Leylandii, Thuja, or Bamboo along the boundary of your garden can help with privacy. Grow a dense hedge using plants like Boxwood, Privet, or Laurel. It may take time to grow, but it provides a natural and green privacy screen. Use climbers like Ivy, Clematis, or Wisteria on fences or trellises to create a lush, green privacy barrier. 3. Outdoor Curtains Hang outdoor curtains around pergolas, gazebos, or patios for an easy-to-adjust privacy solution. 4. Sound Barriers A water fountain or small waterfall can help drown out noise, adding to the sense of privacy. Or install fencing designed to reduce noise if privacy from sound is also a concern. Social media users react The video - which many said they could relate to - has since taken the platform by storm, amassing close to a whopping 300k views and 294k likes in just two days. More than 130 people also flooded to comments, where many suggested their solutions - some more hilarious and bizarre than others. One joked: ''You should take the sheets away, turn your chairs round to face sit there and watch them watching you all evening.'' Another chimed in: ''I can relate!'' Advertisement Someone else chuckled: ''you should start doing random things in your back garden like wear black robes with a hood and start doing pretend satanic rituals with candles and freak them out lol.'' A fourth advised: ''get rid of the concrete, plant some trees nobody overlooks you then.''
