June 30 date for framing RG Kar corruption case charges
Kolkata: Charges will be framed against five defendants in the RG Kar Medical College corruption case on June 30. The Special Court in Alipore has called all accused to appear, including former principal Sandeep Ghosh.

The case emerged after a doctor's rape-murder at the RG Kar hospital in Aug, uncovering financial issues at the institution. The other accused are house staffer Ashish Pandey, contractors Suman Hazra and Biplab Singh, and Absar Ali. All defendants are on bail.
Defense lawyers have questioned the timing of charge framing while investigation continues. The court has set Sept 1 as the deadline for completing the second phase of investigation under BNS and BNSS provisions. The June 30 hearing will proceed as scheduled. Sources report investigators have collected evidence about financial wrongdoing at the institution. The upcoming court session marks a key point in the proceedings against the medical college officials.

Pune: The Pune Rural police have deployed two anti-drone guns to take down unauthorised drones during the palkhi processions of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj. Man marrying & harassing minor held under Pocso
Nashik: The Bhadrakali police arrested a man (25) on Friday evening for marrying a minor girl and harassing her. The arrest was made under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanahita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act. The Bhadrakali police stated that the victim (17) registered a complaint with them on Friday evening. According to the complainant, her father-in-law threatened her parents to marry their minor daughter to his son. The father-in-law wielded immense influence in their community. After the forced marriage, the complainant's husband maintained physical relations with her, after which she became pregnant and gave birth to a boy on June 1. Meanwhile, the husband and his four other relatives continued to harass her physically. The police said, "After the girl returned to her parents, she decided to register a complaint against her husband and the other 4 relatives. We took action and arrested her husband. However, his parents and four other accused are yet to be traced and arrested." Apart from the charges under Pocso, the police have registered a case against the accused for rape, abduction, intentional insult, and criminal intimidation under relevant sections of the BNS. The police are also investigating where the girl delivered the baby and why doctors did not raise alarm over her age.

29-year-old arrested for kidnapping & raping married woman
Mhow: Rajgarh police have arrested and booked a 29-year-old man for kidnapping, confining, and raping 32-year-old married woman in Dhar district. The incident took place on May 8, but, a case was registered on Friday evening. Rajgarh police station in charge Dipak Singh Chohan told TOI, "The woman in her complaint stated that she had gone to her father's agricultural farm to collect some vegetables on the evening of May 8. She was alone in the field when Akku, a resident of Sardarpur, came there and took her to a small farmhouse constructed nearby. He allegedly locked the door from inside and raped her twice. While leaving the place, he threatened her not to reveal the incident." A case under sections 140, 127(4), 64, 64(2), and 351(3) of BNS was registered against him and he was arrested late at night. SHO Chohan said that the accused was produced in court from where he was sent to jail on Saturday.
