The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) concluded its three-day Eid Al Adha 2025 celebrations, which drew large crowds and created an atmosphere of joy and festivity throughout the Cultural Village. The vibrant turnout reaffirmed Katara's status as one of Qatar's and the region's leading cultural and tourist destinations.
Committed to its mission as a hub of cultural exchange and civilisational dialogue, Katara designs its events to foster convergence between cultures while promoting both enjoyment and knowledge. The Eid festivities were a testament to this ethos, blending entertainment with cultural enrichment for visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
Salem bin Mabkhout Al Marri, Director of Public Relations and Communication at Katara, highlighted that the Eid Al Adha 2025 celebrations embody the Foundation's vision of becoming a fully integrated cultural and tourist destination that welcomes all. 'We are extremely pleased with the great interaction from the public and the wide turnout witnessed throughout the three days. We saw joy and amazement on the faces of visitors from various nationalities, which reflects our success in providing cultural and entertainment content that meets their aspirations,' he said.
The programme offered a wide array of activities designed to engage and delight. The Katara Corniche featured musical and traditional artistic performances, recreational activities for children, evening concerts, and folkloric shows that created a lively and immersive festive experience. Visitors also enjoyed events at Al Thuraya Planetarium, theatrical performances such as the Haunted House, and spectacular fireworks and dancing fountain displays enhanced by lights, music, and visual effects—all of which added to the sense of wonder and celebration.
Visitors expressed admiration for the high level of organisation, artistic variety, and cultural richness of the events. Many described the Eid celebrations at Katara as 'exceptional' and 'inspiring', affirming that it has become their preferred destination for holidays and special occasions.

A number of photographers participated in the exhibition, including Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain, Hamad Khalifa Al Khulaifi, Mohammed Al Shaabi, Nasser Aqeel Al Emadi, Ali Saif Al-Din, Abdullah Al Muadhin, Abdulqader Allam, Wassim Al Khader, Faisal Al Jarkas, Saeed Mohammed Fayrouz, Mohammed Najib Nasr, Abdullah Abdulhamid Al Muslih, Khalifa Al Mansouri, Ahmed Al Fadala, and Jassim Al Maliki. The photographers took visitors on a contemplative visual journey through their photographs, capturing rare scenes of Qatar's wildlife, from birds soaring in the sky to vibrant marine creatures in the depths of the water, highlighting the details of nature. As part of a series of diverse environmental activities, Katara Art Studios hosted a series of workshops for children, including the 'Creating Plant Pots' workshop, the 'Creating a Luminous Insect' workshop, and the '3D Art from the Marine Environment' workshop, scheduled for next Sunday. The workshops aim to develop children's environmental awareness and enrich their knowledge, artistic and creative skills, thus strengthening their connection to the environment around them in a fun and interactive way.

ICC Wednesday Fiesta showcases India's cultural diversity

The evening brought together a captivating blend of music, dance, and traditional art forms, presented by various ICC-associated organisations (AOs) and arts centres across Qatar. The event opened with a warm welcome address by ICC Secretary Afsal Abdul Majeed, followed by a presidential address by ICC President AP Manikantan, who highlighted the importance of such cultural platforms in preserving and promoting India's artistic heritage abroad. A special highlight of the evening was the felicitation of Usha Patil, president of Maharashtra Mandal Qatar, and Aparna Sharath, president of Billawas Qatar, for their remarkable contributions to the Indian community in Qatar. Katara launches summer art workshops for children
QNA Doha The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) has launched a variety of summer art workshops for children and young adults, along with a series of educational shows at the Al Thuraya Planetarium. This year's workshops are part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the cultural scene and develop children's aesthetic sense. Katara indicated in a statement that these workshops, which include pottery making, mask painting, colouring and cartoon character design, will be held at its art studios in Building 19 over the course of July and August. The workshops will be supervised by a host of Qatari and resident artists and specialist trainers, ensuring the delivery of content that combines aesthetic value with an innovative educational approach. In this context, Head of the Art Exhibitions Department at Katara Hayya Al Mohannadi highlighted the Foundation's commitment to making the summer vacation an opportunity to hone young talents and provide children with a creative space that enhances self-confidence and artistic expression. She emphasised that these workshops are not merely for entertainment, but rather an extension of the Foundation's mission to spread culture, develop aesthetic taste among the generation, and stimulate their imagination and self-confidence. Al Mohannadi saidKatara believes that children are not necessarily born as artists, but are naturally creative by nature, requiring only the appropriate space and support to thrive, noting that the workshops are designed to enable children to express their ideas and dreams using simple yet profoundly impactful artistic tools. Each year, there is a noticeable increase in participation from families, which has led to a diversification of the workshops and an expansion of the target age groups to include children and adolescents of various ages. In parallel with the workshops, the Al Thuraya Planetarium at Katara presents a range of astronomical shows for children in 3D technology, every Monday and Wednesday of each week. The shows use an attractive visual style and 3D display techniques. The films include: The Astronaut, Space Oases, From Earth to the Universe, Traveling With Light, The Zula Patrol, Phantom of the Universe, Polaris, The Stars, 8 Scoops of Milky Way, and The Universe.
