NBC Sports5 hours ago
For Hall of Fame defensive back and Colorado coach Deion Sanders, questions have swirled about his health for several weeks.
Answers apparently are coming on Monday.
Via Chantz Martin of FoxNews.com, Sanderswill conduct a press conference on Monday. Officially, the event is expected to 'provide general and team updates.'
Per the announcement, as posted by Chris Vannini of TheAthletic.com, Sanders will be joined by 'his medical team.'
Sanders's involvement in spring and summer camps was limited by an unspecified health issue. He participated in the Big 12 Media Days earlier this month.
'I'm already back,' Sanders said on July 9. 'I'm here today. I'm handling my responsibilities. So, I look forward to it. I can't wait. You've got to understand, some of the young [players] I haven't even met yet. I'm so excited about that.'
On July 20, Sanders said this in a video posted by his son, Deion Sanders Jr.: 'You know I'm still going through something. . . . I ain't all the way recovered.'
Since then, Deion visited Tampa Bay training camp, where his son Shilo is trying to make the team.
Some clarity could be coming. Don't be shocked if something leaks before the press conference starts. Whatever it may be, we wish Deion the best.

Ex-Red Sox pitcher retires after attempting MLB comeback

Daniel Bard won't make another MLB comeback after all. The longtime pitcher retired on Saturday, according to the MLB transaction page. In May, Bard threw in front about 10 teams. WEEI's Rob Bradford noted the former Boston Red Sox pitcher drew 'significant interest' from Western Division teams. But a deal never came to fruition. Bard, 40, missed the entire 2024 campaign after he underwent surgery on his right elbow flexor tendon. It was thought to be a potential career-ending injury. Bard spent five seasons with the Red Sox — his last being 2013. He retired in 2018 before the pitcher returned to the mound in 2020 with the Colorado Rockies, where he spent four seasons and was named the 2020 Comeback Player of the Year. In 2023, the last time Bard pitched in an MLB game, he amassed a 4.56 ERA with 47 strikeouts in 50 games. Colorado's Deion Sanders to hold press conference alongside medical team Monday

Much has been made about Deion Sanders' future in Boulder due to a mysterious health issue that has limited his offseason participation with Colorado football and his sons − Shedeur and Shilo − in the NFL playing for the Cleveland Browns and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, respectively. On Monday, July 28, the college football world at large may be getting some answers on what may be on the horizon for the Colorado coach. Sanders will be holding a press conference alongside his medical team to provide "team and general updates," per The Athletic's Chris Vannini. It will be his first news conference of the 2025 fall camp for the Buffaloes. While no one but Sanders is entitled to know his health status, rumors have swirled due to his limited involvement in Colorado's spring and summer camps. Sanders appeared in good spirits at Big 12 media days, praising Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark for continually checking in on him, Colorado AD Rick George for taking a chance on him, and the other coaches in the Big 12. Sanders ultimately declined to expound upon his health at media days, saying he was "here to talk about (his) team." When is Deion Sanders speaking to media? Sanders and his medical team will be speaking to media Monday, July 28 at 1 p.m. ET, 11 a.m. MT (Boulder local time). It is unknown what the specific updates will be.
