Deion Sanders and his medical team will hold a press conference on Monday
For Hall of Fame defensive back and Colorado coach Deion Sanders, questions have swirled about his health for several weeks. Answers apparently are coming on Monday. Via Chantz Martin of Sanderswill conduct a press conference on Monday. Officially, the event is expected to 'provide general and team updates.' Per the announcement, as posted by Chris Vannini of Sanders will be joined by 'his medical team.' Sanders's involvement in spring and summer camps was limited by an unspecified health issue. He participated in the Big 12 Media Days earlier this month. 'I'm already back,' Sanders said on July 9. 'I'm here today. I'm handling my responsibilities. So, I look forward to it. I can't wait. You've got to understand, some of the young [players] I haven't even met yet. I'm so excited about that.' On July 20, Sanders said this in a video posted by his son, Deion Sanders Jr.: 'You know I'm still going through something. . . . I ain't all the way recovered.' Since then, Deion visited Tampa Bay training camp, where his son Shilo is trying to make the team. Some clarity could be coming. Don't be shocked if something leaks before the press conference starts. Whatever it may be, we wish Deion the best.

Donald Trump announces there will be a UFC event at the White House when the United States celebrates its 250th birthday
US President Donald Trump has kicked off the Independence Day celebrations in the United States by announcing a UFC event will take place at the White House. Mr Trump was speaking in Iowa to mark Independence Day in the United States. This year marks 250 years since the signing of the US Constitution, which formally marked the severance from the British Empire. At the rally, Mr Trump touted the victories of his administration, focusing on border protection, and praised the military parade that took place in Washington DC a fortnight ago. 'Every major promise I made to the people of Iowa in 2024 became a promise kept,' Trump told the crowd of thousands at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Mr Trump also stunned onlookers when he announced that a UFC fight would be held on the grounds of the White House. 'Does anybody watch UFC? The great Dana White? We're going to have a UFC fight. We're going to have a UFC fight — think of this — on the grounds of the White House,' the President said. 'We have a lot of land there, we're going to build a little — we're not, Dana is going to do it. Dana is great, one of a kind — going to be UFC fight, championship fight, full fight, like 20,000 to 25,000 people, and we're going to do that as part of '250',' Shortly after winning the Nov. 5 election, Trump attended a UFC event at New York's Madison Square Garden with Elon Musk, House Speaker Mike Johnson, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., his son Donald Trump Jr. and Kid Rock. The President also said he intended to have a state fair on the National Mall in Washington DC, featuring exhibits from all 50 states. The announcement comes as House Republicans passed Trump's 'Big Beautiful Bill' on the narrowest of margins. reports the Republican caucus was mostly united, with two Republicans - Thomas Massie from Kentucky and Brian Fitzpatrick - voting against. All Democrats were opposed. Mr Trump said he would sign the bill Friday at 5:00pm local time (7am AEST) with a backdrop of a fly-past of US Air Force planes over the south lawn of the White House.

On Fox News, All Is Calm
At 11 a.m. on Friday, the S&P 500 was down about 4 percent, on top of a nearly 5 percent drop the day before. On Fox News, Harris Faulkner opened her 11 a.m. newscast with the following pronouncement: 'President Trump is keeping another campaign promise. He tilted the global economy, and he's done that to balance unfair trade and bring back manufacturing to the United States. And it's getting response around the globe.' That's one way to put it. As Ms. Faulkner continued — 'President Trump is still confident his plan will revitalize the economy' — there was no onscreen stock ticker so that viewers could track the market on their own, making Fox News an outlier among the major cable news networks. Over the past 24 hours, Fox News has projected a conspicuous calm about the worst stock market sell-off since the 2020 pandemic. its popular website, has featured few headlines about the poor market performance. On Thursday's edition of 'The Five,' the network's highest-rated show, the host, Jeanine Pirro, who is a longtime Trump ally, declared, 'I don't really care about my 401(k) today.' 'You know why?' Ms. Pirro continued. 'Not that I can afford it, not that it isn't important, not that I'm not at a point in my life when I should be worried about my 401(k) because I am. But this is what I believe. I believe in this man.' Bret Baier started the network's 6:30 p.m. flagship newscast on Thursday by saying: 'President Trump says he thinks things are going very well during the first day of his new tariffs. Financial markets around the world not exactly going along with that. It was a brutal day on Wall Street, although stocks are still higher than they were a year ago.' Newsmax, another network that appeals to conservative viewers, also did not feature a stock ticker onscreen showing the market turmoil. Instead, Newsmax has provided viewers with real-time updates on the price of its own stock, NMAX, which began trading on the public markets on Monday and has wildly seesawed between $14 and $265 a share. (By Friday lunchtime, it was trading around $55 a share.) Ms. Faulkner, on Friday, did concede during her program that 'markets are down again today,' before adding, 'However, Trump and his administration say that is to be expected. None of this is a surprise. He says it's time to settle in for a bit.'

Donald Trump says Eagles will be invited to White House
It's looking more and more likely that the Eagles will indeed visit the White House. Capping an unexpected two-day news cycle, President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the reigning Super Bowl champions will be invited for the traditional Pennsylvania Avenue boondoggle. 'They will be [invited],' President Trump said, via 'We haven't [extended an invitation] yet, but we will be. I thought it was a great performance by them. Absolutely, they'll be extended an invitation. We'll do it right away, we'll do it some time today. They deserve to be down here, and we hope to see them.' During the first Trump administration, the Eagles received an invitation to visit the White House after winning Super Bowl LII. After it became clear multiple players wouldn't attend, the invitation was rescinded. On Sunday, a pre-Super Bowl report was noticed regarding the Eagles' supposed plan to not go to the White House. That triggered a flurry of new reports — and presumably plenty of behind-the-scenes conversations — regarding whether an invitation would be accepted, if extended. It still remains to be seen whether one or more players will boycott the trip. And whether, if enough decline, the trip won't happen.
