Prayagraj: Extensive arrangements have been made to monitor the Review Officer (RO) / Assistant Review Officer (ARO) Preliminary Examination-2023, to be held on Sunday (July 27) at 2,382 centres in the state.
Being considered the biggest examination in the history of the
Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission
(UPPSC) in terms of the number of candidates, the Commission has taken several steps to conduct the pre-exam in a transparent and fair manner.
Earlier, in the same examination held on February 11, 2024, the paper was leaked, and the Commission had to cancel the examination. This examination is now going to be held after one and a half years, and during this time, many significant decisions are being taken for the transparency and monitoring of the examination.
Importantly, the RO/ARO examination will be conducted for the first time with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI). If any candidate looks around, speaks, or murmurs in the examination hall, then with the help of AI technology, which works in synchronization with the high-definition CCTV installed in the room, the candidate concerned will be immediately identified. Not only the candidates but also the room invigilators will be monitored by AI-enabled CCTVs.

A total of 10,76,004 candidates have applied for recruitment to 411 posts of RO/ARO. For the first time, the Commission has set up centres in all the districts of the state for this examination. A total of 106 examination centres have been set up in Prayagraj alone.
Meanwhile, the District Magistrate Ravindra Mandar while interacting with the media on Saturday said, "We are fully prepared to conduct the RO/ARO exam at 106 exam centres in Prayagraj, wherein over 45,000 candidates will appear.
We have trained the sector and static magistrates, along with other staff, who will be deployed to conduct the exam." The DM further said that he, along with other officials of the district administration, inspected the exam control centres on Saturday.
Mandar also said that the police, LIU, and all the security agencies are on high alert, and all individuals, especially those involved in alleged paper leaks on previous occasions or those who have a criminal history, are being monitored very closely.

Thailand-Cambodia clashes: Malaysia to host peace talks on Monday; meeting set after Trump's intervention

Cambodia-Thailand conflict Thai and Cambodian leaders will meet in Malaysia on Monday to discuss ending the ongoing hostilities , a spokesperson from the Thailand Prime Minister's Office (PMO) announced on Sunday. The announcement follows mediation efforts by US President Donald Trump, aimed at resolving the escalating border dispute. The current wave of fighting — now in its fourth day — erupted after a brief skirmish in May, and has so far claimed at least 34 lives and displaced over 168,000 people. " Acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai will attend the talks in response to an invitation from Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to discuss peace efforts in the region,' news agency AP quoted Thai PMO spokesperson Jirayu Huangsap as saying. The spokesperson added that Phumtham's Cambodian counterpart Hun Manet will also attend the talks, though this was not immediately confirmed by the Cambodian side. Trump posted on his Truth Social platform on Saturday that he spoke to the leaders of both Thailand and Cambodia, and claimed that he suggested he would not move forward with trade agreements with either country if the hostilities continued. He later said both sides agreed to meet to negotiate a ceasefire. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Your donations can help this little boy see again clearly Donate For Health Donate Now Undo Following his conversation with the US President, the Cambodian premier stated that his country has agreed to pursue an 'immediate and unconditional ceasefire.' He added that Trump told him that Thailand had also agreed to halt attacks following Trump's conversation with Thailand's interim leader. Meanwhile, Thailand expressed cautious support. Phumtham thanked Trump and asserted that Thailand agreed in principle to a ceasefire but stressed the need for 'sincere intention' from Cambodia. Both sides blame the other for the clashes The fighting first flared Thursday after a land mine explosion along the border wounded five Thai soldiers. Both countries recalled their ambassadors and Thailand closed its border crossings with Cambodia. Despite the diplomatic efforts, fighting continued Sunday along parts of the contested border, with the two sides refusing to budge, and trading blame over renewed shelling and troop movements. Thailand also reported death of another soldier, bringing its total number of fatalities to 21, mostly civilians. Cambodia has announced 13 deaths on its side. More than 131,000 people in Thailand have evacuated to safe locations and over 37,000 people fled from three Cambodian provinces. Many border villages are mostly deserted, with many schools and hospitals shut.
