Rapper GloRilla arrested on drug charges after police respond to burglary call
The Forsyth county sheriff's office confirmed to Atlanta's WSB-TV that authorities responded to a call about a burglary at a home owned by the rapper, legal name Gloria Hallelujah Woods, around 1.30am on Saturday. Woods was in Indianapolis at the time to perform at the WNBA all-star game that evening.
According to the sheriff's office, three suspects entered the home when Woods was not present to rob the residence, and were deterred when an unidentified individual fired at them. The burglars reportedly escaped unharmed. During their investigation, deputies smelled marijuana and called a drug taskforce, who found a 'significant amount of marijuana' in a bedroom closet.
Woods was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance, and voluntarily surrendered to Forsyth county authorities on Tuesday. She was subsequently released on $22,260 bond.
'The homeowner is a victim of a serious crime, and we are committed to bringing the suspects to justice,' Sheriff Ron Freeman told WSB-TV. 'At the same time, we must continue to uphold and enforce the law in all aspects of this case.' Police have yet to find any of the three intruders.
Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, GloRilla first broke on to the rap scene in 2022 with her Grammy-nominated single FNF (Let's Go), quickly establishing herself as one of the fastest-rising female rappers in the US. Her debut album Glorious was released in 2024, securing another two Grammy nominations for its lead single Yeah Glo!

"By blocking Ineos, we've drawn global attention to the company's bottomless appetite for plastic production, false solutions and profit for its billionaire boss Jim Ratcliffe." In response yesterday, a statement from INEOS said: "Today's Greenpeace stunt is dangerous, disruptive, and entirely counterproductive. "It may grab headlines, but it does absolutely nothing to reduce plastic pollution or deliver real-world solutions." There are a number of reason for this huge police deployment, mainly the numerous demonstrations being held in protest at his visit. At midday today, there will be rallies across Scotland, organised by the Stop Trump Coalition. Huge crowds are expected at the demo here at the American Consulate in Edinburgh, as well as Aberdeen and Dumfries. The fact that Trump is not visiting any of these cities should not stop the public from voicing their anger. Hopefully, if road closures don't keep them out, there will be a huge presence at Turnberry, scene of that famous 2016 protest by the late Janey Godley. It's the one thing he can't handle, as can be seen by his attempts to silence American satirists like Jon Stewart and Jimmy Kimmell. CBS announced this week that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will be cancelled when its series ends next May. Catch it online over the next ten months. Many allege this is due to political pressure from the White House. Trump has already tweeted his glee, accusing the host of lacking talent. To which Colbert's response was 'Would an untalented man be able to compose the following satirical witticism? Go f*** yourself.' Those last three words well be on many banners today, I'm sure.
