'Not my problem' - Man Utd star reacts to Alejandro Garnacho's exile

Metroa day ago
Amad Diallo gave a brutally honest answer when asked about the futures of his Manchester United teammates Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford.
Garnacho and Rashford are among the five players Ruben Amorim has exiled from the first-team and told to leave the club.
Fellow forwards Antony and Jadon Sancho and left-back Tyrell Malacia complete the 'bomb-squad', though United are struggling to find buyers for them.
That was until Saturday, when it was reported that Barcelona were closing in on a deal to sign Rashford on loan with the option to buy, with the England international desperate to seal the move.
The news broke during United's first pre-season friendly of the summer – a drab goalless draw with Leeds United in Stockholm – where Amad played the first 45 minutes.

Speaking in the mixed zone after the match, the Ivory Coast star was asked about Rashford's impending departure but did not want to be pressed on the matter.
'The only thing I can say is good luck to him, but I'm more focused on United and my team.'
Amad is especially close to Garnacho, with the duo at one stage tipped to be the future of the Red Devils' attack, but the latter will almost certainly leave Old Trafford this summer after falling out with Amorim.
There is much interest in the winger from the likes of Chelsea, Aston Villa and Tottenham but with no offers as of yet, United may have to further slash his asking price.
Asked about Garnacho's predicament, Amad showed little interest, saying: 'I think this is not really my problem. The only thing I'm thinking right now is how we will learn together as a team.'
The 23-year-old was more open about his new teammate Matheus Cunha who impressed on his unofficial debut, a bright spark in an otherwise dreary match. More Trending
'He's a good player – we need good players in the team and he'll bring a lot to the team. I hope he can give us some different things.
'Especially last season, we missed a lot of good players in the final third. He scored a lot of goals last season, so I just wish him all the best.'
United's pre-season continues State-side as they take on West Ham next Sunday in New Jersey.

Man Utd told to sign £34m ex-Chelsea star who could be forced out due to Brexit

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim wants to sign a new midfielder this summer and the Red Devils have been urged to make a move for Atletico Madrid's Conor Gallagher Manchester United have been urged to sign former Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher this summer. United are hoping to bounce back from their worst Premier League campaign this season, having finished 15th last season. ‌ They have already signed Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon and are set to complete a deal for Bryan Mbeumo, but Mirror Football understands that Ruben Amorim also want to sign a new midfielder after admitting it is an area of concern. ‌ Speaking after United's 0-0 draw with Leeds United in pre-season, Amorim said: "The gaps between our sectors was sometimes too big. We have a lack of pace, especially in the middle of the park and you can feel it is hard to win and bring the ball. But we created chances." ‌ And former United midfielder Gordon Strachan believes Gallagher would be an excellent addition. "Man Utd don't need a bit more bite, they need legs, real legs, real closing down," Strachan told OLBG. "Can Conor Gallagher do that? Yes he can, he's definitely got legs, he's a good teammate. Has he got enough imagination? I don't know, but if you have people like that with legs in there and have imagination around them, then he'd be a good signing. "The days of the luxury player, if you want to be a top side, are gone. So, Conor Gallagher has definitely got the legs. He's got the robustness. Has he got goals? "Has he got that flair? These players are hard to come by. Would I take him compared to some of the players that have played over the last couple of years at Man Utd? Yes, I would." Gallagher came though Chelsea's academy and left the club in 2024, joining Atletico Madrid in a £34million deal. The midfielder enjoyed an impressive first season in Spain, where he was one of three non-EU players alongside Samuel Lino and Nahuel Molina. ‌ Spanish clubs are only allowed to have three players without EU citizenship in their squad and Thiago Almada's move from Botafogo this summer means they now have four. As a result, Spanish outlet COPE are reporting that one of Gallagher, Lino and Molina will depart. Atletico have already had a busy summer, signing Almada, Clement Lenglet, Juan Musso, Matteo Ruggeri, Alex Baena and Johnny Cardoso and selling Rodrigo Riquelme and Angel Correa. Cesar Azpilicueta, Axel Witsel and Reinildo Mandava have also left after their contracts expired.

India enjoy ‘epic crossover' with visit to Man Utd

The Red Devils opened pre-season with a 0-0 draw against Leeds on Saturday in Stockholm and welcomed some special guests to the training ground the following morning. India are in town ahead of the key fourth Test against England getting under way at Emirates Old Trafford on Wednesday, with their players and staff mixing with United counterparts at Carrington. An epic crossover 🔝 Indian Cricket Team 🤝🏻 Manchester United#TeamIndia | @ManUtd — BCCI (@BCCI) July 21, 2025 The Board of Control for Cricket in India called it 'an epic crossover' in a post on X, which showed their team and the hosts mingling in one another's shirts with personalised names. India captain Shubman Gill said: 'It's very exciting to be able to meet top athletes in the world from another sport, to get to know their stories is very inspiring. 'You're playing two different sports, but the mindset that you play with is most of the times very similar.' Gill spoke with United skipper Bruno Fernandes about their respective roles, while head coach Gautam Gambhir chatted to counterpart Ruben Amorim. 'It was a nice interaction – what his ideology is towards team sport and what my ideology is towards team sport,' Gambhir said. 'The basic foundation of a team sport is very similar, where I feel that I think it's the players that adapt to what the team needs rather than the team that adapts to a certain individual. 'That is the culture which we want to build.' Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav seemed to particularly enjoy the experience and picked Amorim's brains about his approach for the new season. 'I was looking forward to talking to Ruben,' he said. 'I've been following him from Sporting. 'I asked him few questions about the tactics, whether they're going to stick with the 3-4-3 this season. Sharing football knowledge with the man who's redefining the game🙌🏻 #RubenAmorim — Kuldeep yadav (@imkuldeep18) July 20, 2025 'I had a chance to chat to Casemiro about how I admire him as a player and, yeah, it was very nice.' Yadav later posted a picture of him with the Portuguese on X with the caption: 'Sharing football knowledge with the man who's redefining the game.' India arrive in Manchester trailing England 2-1 in the five-Test series, while United head to the United States for their pre-season tour on Tuesday.

But Rashford still faces uncertainty over whether he can actually play for the Catalans due to Barca's ongoing registration issues. According to talkSPORT's Andy Brassell, financial restrictions could delay or even prevent the England star being officially registered to play. Brassell said on the Trans Europe Express show: 'There's still no guarantee, certainly if you believe Javier Tebas, the president of LaLiga, that Barcelona will be able to register him for the moment. 'That is something that we have to keep an eye on as with every Barcelona signing. "That was what made Nico Williams back out of the deal. 'Rashford doesn't have an enormous amount of options partly because of his salary partly because of a disappointing last couple of years even if he did show bits of his old self at Aston Villa. 'Both sides needed this to happen quite badly, which I think is great news for Marcus Rashford, it's great news for England, and if it all works, it's good news for Barcelona as well.' BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK Barcelona have been hit by La Liga spending limits in recent years, with delays in registering Dani Olmo and Pau Victor last season, only to later have their registrations revoked. La Liga president Javier Tebas said the club's financial situation also blocked a deal for Nico Williams, who instead signed a new contract with Athletic Bilbao. Juventus want Rashford! 8 8 TRANSFER NEWS LIVE - KEEP UP WITH ALL THE LATEST FROM A BUSY SUMMER WINDOW Barcelona have moved for Rashford after missing out on Williams and being priced out of a move for Liverpool's Luis Diaz. Villa turned down the chance to sign him permanently for £40m and Rashford has been looking for a new club since. Ex-United team-mate Paul Pogba told streamer IShowSpeed. : 'I'm happy for him. United are losing a great player.' Rashford will now hope everything goes smoothly and he can be registered and get back playing as soon as possible.
