Alejandro Garnacho sends message to Chelsea as Man Utd slash asking price
Manchester United have significantly lowered their £70 million asking price for Chelsea to sign Alejandro Garnacho this summer, according to reports. Ruben Amorim has made it clear to Garnacho that he has no future at Old Trafford after he was left out of the squad for United's final Premier League game last season and benched for the Europa League final against Spurs in May. Garnacho took aim at Amorim after he was dropped for the Europa League final defeat to Spurs in Bilbao and indicated that his future is in doubt. The Argentina international had attracted interest from both Chelsea and Napoli in the January transfer window but were unwilling to meet United's £70m asking price. According to ESPN, United are now willing to accept a £40m fee for Garnacho this summer with Chelsea, Aston Villa and the Saudi Pro League all interested. The report adds that Garnacho's preference is to remain in the Premier League and join a club who will be playing in the Champions League next season, which makes Chelsea the frontrunners for his signature if they followed up their interest. Garnacho did not travel to Sweden for United's goalless draw against Leeds United for their first pre-season friendly on Saturday. More Trending The 21-year-old will also be left out of the squad that will travel to the United States for their three-game pre-season tour this week. When asked about his future after United's defeat in the Europa League final, Garnacho said: 'The game has an impact, but the season itself, the club's situation… I'm going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens next.' Napoli had also held talks to sign Garnacho in the January transfer window as a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who joined Paris Saint-Germain in a €70m (£58.9m) deal. However, the Serie A champions claimed the deal fell apart as Garnacho's wage demands were not in line with the rest of their squad. For more stories like this, check our sport page. Man Utd dramatically slash £70m Alejandro Garnacho price tag and set reduced transfer fee
Alejandro Garnacho is one of several big names tipped to leave Manchester United and the club are prepared to take a massive financial hit just to get him out of Old Trafford Manchester United have almost halved their demands for Alejandro Garnacho - and will now accepted £40million for the Argentine as he looks to leave the club this summer. Garnacho's value on the market this time 12 months ago was thought to be around £70m, but his stock has fallen so low that Mirror Football understands United are willing to accept a £30m hit just to get the 21-year-old winger off their books. The youngster was once seen as one of the club's future stars but his performances have dipped whilst he's also struggled to find a role that brings the best out of him in Ruben Amorim 's system, which has complicated matters. Chelsea were previously linked with Garnacho, who scored 11 times last term, whilst Napoli too have been interested in the past. So far no bidders have been forthcoming but a massive drop in the Manchester club's demands may now see that change. Garnacho angered major figures at Old Trafford once the season finished as he wore an Aston Villa shirt with Rashford's name on the back whilst on holiday with the image going viral on social media. That also came after his reaction to his Europa League snub did not impressed his manager. The Argentine was named on the bench for the clash in Bilbao, which United lost. Garnacho arrived late to wam up on the pitch and was seen chatting with Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon. Hours before kick off he also share pictures of him scoring against local rivals Manchester City during the FA Cup final win on social media, with many drawing their own conclusions. After the match the player said: "Up until the final I played every round helping the team, and today I play 20 minutes, I don't know. The final will influence [my decision] but the whole season, the situation of the club. I'm going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens afterwards." Garnacho isn't the only player United will be prepared to lose millions on. Marcus Rashford is heading to Barcelona on loan with the Spanish club having the option to buy next summer. They can do so for £26m, despite the Red Devils telling Aston Villa just months ago the price was £40m. Jadon Sancho was signed back in 2021 from Borussia Dortmund for just over £70m. He's since had two loan spells away and the Red Devils will let him leave permanently for £15m. Antony joined United for £86m in 2022, but his value has also plummeted, with interested clubs now being quoted around £30m to sign him.

Alejandro Garnacho keen on surprise Premier League switch
With the Bryan Mbeumo deal now sealed, Manchester United's focus has now shifted to player sales. Marcus Rashford has already earned a loan move to Barcelona, while Jadon Sancho seems to be inching closer to Juventus. Both those deals will not net the Red Devils a huge amount, with Alejandro Garnacho earmarked as the biggest sale this window. Unlike his fellow forwards, the Argentine is keen to stay in the Premier League and he has already turned down a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia, where he was offered the chance to reunite with idol Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr. Napoli, Atletico Madrid were also linked with a move, but the United No.17 is hoping to stay in England with Chelsea long-term admirers. Garnacho wants PL stay But so far, the Blues have yet to submit a concrete proposal, while Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with a move. Aston Villa are the latest entrants, with recent reports suggesting Unai Emery's side could offer a loan deal, something the 20-time English league champions are likely to reject. TBR Football have claimed the Argentina international has done his homework on Villa, and feels Emery can get the best out of him. The Spaniard has a proven track record with young stars, while he also got a tune out of Marcus Rashford last season, which even saw the Mancunian regain his spot in the England national team. 'Garnacho is keen to stay in the Premier League and, attracted by the prospect of working under Unai Emery, would be open to a move to Aston Villa, TBR Football can confirm. 'Alejandro Garnacho wants to stay in England, and there are only so many options. Chelsea, we know, like him, whilst Tottenham have maintained contact. Open to Villa move 'But Aston Villa have emerged as an option, I am told the player has done his homework on the possibility of working with Unai Emery, and he has heard good things. 'Emery knows how to get a tune out of these young talents – we have seen it with the likes of Morgan Rogers, indeed, could Garnacho replace the England man? It is not impossible. 'Villa want to make some impact on the market this summer, and Garnacho could be just that for them.' Alejandro Garnacho was even spotted wearing a Villa kit, not too long ago, and he could soon follow in Rashford's footsteps. However, a lot will depend on the kind of deal the Birmingham side end up offering. They are not in the best position, financially, but with United's eyes on Emiliano Martinez, a cash-plus player deal could be on the cards. Why Chelsea are willing to bide their time in Alejandro Garnacho transfer pursuit despite competition from Napoli
Chelsea willing to wait for Garnacho Want United to reduce their valuation of the winger United eye move for Chelsea's Jackson Follow GOAL on WhatsApp! 🟢📱 WHAT HAPPENED? According to The i Paper, after Rashford's departure, United will now act swiftly to get rid of their other four wantaways, namely Antony, Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia. Garnacho has attracted strong interest from Napoli and Chelsea, although the report claims that the Blues are willing to wait for United to drop their £60 million ($80m) valuation of the winger, as they consider even £50m ($67m) to be too high for the Argentine. THE BIGGER PICTURE The Red Devils, who are looking for a new striker, could turn their attention towards Blues frontman Nicolas Jackson. With Liam Delap set to start regularly under Enzo Maresca, Jackson could consider leaving, but Chelsea are likely to hold out for £60m for the striker. 'Not my problem' - Man Utd star reacts to Alejandro Garnacho's exile
Amad Diallo gave a brutally honest answer when asked about the futures of his Manchester United teammates Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford. Garnacho and Rashford are among the five players Ruben Amorim has exiled from the first-team and told to leave the club. Fellow forwards Antony and Jadon Sancho and left-back Tyrell Malacia complete the 'bomb-squad', though United are struggling to find buyers for them. That was until Saturday, when it was reported that Barcelona were closing in on a deal to sign Rashford on loan with the option to buy, with the England international desperate to seal the move. The news broke during United's first pre-season friendly of the summer – a drab goalless draw with Leeds United in Stockholm – where Amad played the first 45 minutes. Speaking in the mixed zone after the match, the Ivory Coast star was asked about Rashford's impending departure but did not want to be pressed on the matter. 'The only thing I can say is good luck to him, but I'm more focused on United and my team.' Amad is especially close to Garnacho, with the duo at one stage tipped to be the future of the Red Devils' attack, but the latter will almost certainly leave Old Trafford this summer after falling out with Amorim. There is much interest in the winger from the likes of Chelsea, Aston Villa and Tottenham but with no offers as of yet, United may have to further slash his asking price. Asked about Garnacho's predicament, Amad showed little interest, saying: 'I think this is not really my problem. The only thing I'm thinking right now is how we will learn together as a team.' The 23-year-old was more open about his new teammate Matheus Cunha who impressed on his unofficial debut, a bright spark in an otherwise dreary match. More Trending 'He's a good player – we need good players in the team and he'll bring a lot to the team. I hope he can give us some different things. 'Especially last season, we missed a lot of good players in the final third. He scored a lot of goals last season, so I just wish him all the best.' United's pre-season continues State-side as they take on West Ham next Sunday in New Jersey. For more stories like this, check our sport page.
