ESPN analyst makes bold prediction for Chargers rookie in 2025
Expectations are high for Omarion Hampton heading into his rookie season. The former North Carolina product was the second running back selected behind Ashton Jeanty, who was taken by the Raiders with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
While Jeanty was the top back in this year's class, some believe Hampton will have a more productive season in Year 1, including ESPN's Benjamin Solak, who is predicting Hampton to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
"Omarion Hampton will win Offensive Rookie of the Year. I think he will quickly out-touch Najee Harris, and I think the Chargers want to go back to a more run-heavy approach after turning pass-heavy out of necessity late last season. He'll outproduce fellow first-rounder Ashton Jeanty, too. I see a 1,200-rushing-yard season incoming," Solak wrote.
Hampton's current odds to win OROY are +1000, which is tied with Jaguars WR/CB Travis Hunter and Saints QB Tyler Shough, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. The only two players ahead of Hampton are Jeanty (+250) and Titans QB Cam Ward (+350).
Hampton will share the backfield with veteran Najee Harris, but he should still have a sizeable role in the offense. Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman are going to emphasize running the football. And given his talent, a system tailored his skill set and an improved offensive line, Hampton could make some serious noise in his rookie season.

How many kids does Philip Rivers have? Their names and ages
It's always a family affair when Philip Rivers is around. The former Chargers quarterback officially hung up the cleats on July 21, nearly five years after playing his final snaps in the NFL. While the 17-year veteran isn't Hall of Fame eligible until 2026, Rivers does have the privilege of being around for a teammate that he spent plenty of years with – Antonio Gates. Rivers will eventually get his time in the spotlight, but this year is all about Gates, who shared the field with the quarterback for 15 seasons. Gates will have no shortage of supporters in attendance, however, as the Rivers family can certainly fill up the stands. Here's a look at how many kids Rivers has. How many kids does Philip Rivers have? Rivers has 10 kids – Halle, Caroline, Grace, Gunner, Sarah, Peter, Rebecca, Clare, Anna and Andrew. That gives the quarterback enough players to field an offense around him. Halle is the oldest, born on June 2, 2002, while Andrew is the most recent addition to the family, born on October 30, 2023. Here are the ages for all of the Rivers children as of July 2025: Rivers may have hung up his cleats and walked away from football, but he remains involved with the sport as a high school coach in Alabama at St. Michael Catholic. Perhaps the most important title he owns, however, is "dad" to his 10 kids.

Sterling Sharpe wanted news of ESPN exit to hold until after Sterling entered Hall of Fame
On Wednesday, news broke that ESPN had severed ties with Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe. Sharpe wishes it had stayed under wraps for five more days. Via Andrew Battifarano of the New York Post, Sharpe addressed the situation on the latest episode of his Nightcap podcast. 'I found out this information a little earlier in the week, and really the only thing that I really asked is, 'Guys, could we wait until Monday? My brother's going into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, I really want it to be about him and I want it to be about my family,' Sharpe said. 'I said, 'This coming out will overshadow everything he's worked his entire life for.' And, unfortunately, it didn't happen that way.' It means that the leak more likely came from ESPN's side of the equation. 'I really enjoyed my time at ESPN, they gave me an opportunity to bring my audience that saw me really just grow,' Sharpe added. 'They did what they felt they needed to do. I'm at peace with that. I just wish this thing could've waited until Monday because I hate the fact that I am overshadowing my brother. First two brothers in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and this is what the headline is going to be for the next couple of days.' Maybe it will fade. We tend to have goldfish brains when it comes to the non-stop flow of news and information. Tonight, the NFL returns. By Saturday, the fact that Shannon is out at ESPN will fade into the same general background noise coming from the sexual assault lawsuit filed against him in April, and its more recent settlement. Shannon Sharpe stepped away from his ESPN work days after the complaint was filed. At the time, he expressed an intention to return when the NFL preseason commences. Sterling Sharpe gets his call to Canton after playing only seven NFL seasons. Despite having his career cut short due to injury, he did enough to finally earn a spot with his brother and the other all-time greats.
