The Great Indian Kapil Show season 3 slumps — Salman Khan's premiere hits 1.6M, far below Ranbir Kapoor's 2.4M peak
This has been a recurring trend for The Great Indian Kapil Show, as the first two episodes of season 2 also had lower viewership numbers compared to season 1. When ranking the premiere episodes of seasons 1 and 3, the first season premiere featuring Ranbir Kapoor had the highest viewership with 2.4 million views. The third season premiere with Salman Khan at 1.6 million views is a far cry from those heights.
The Great Indian Kapil show season 3 viewership declined after the premiere
The viewership numbers for season 3 of The Great Indian Kapil Show have continued to decline since the premiere episode.
Sikandar ka swag + Kapil ki timing = BLOCKBUSTER 😍🔥The Great Indian Kapil Show is back aur har Funnyvaar badhega humara parivaar. Watch the first episode from 21 June, 8 pm, every Saturday only on Netflix. #TheGreatIndianKapilShowOnNetflix pic.twitter.com/RmmLJ77UJK
The second episode of season 3 featured the cast of the Hindi film Metro In Dino, and the third episode of season 3 featured appearances from cricketers Gautam Gambhir, Rishabh Pant, Yuzvendra Chahal, and others.
Netflix has not released individual episode numbers for the show, instead giving out cumulative weekly numbers.
Going by the data, after the first week's premiere's 1.6 million views, the second week had 2 million cumulative views, and the third week had 1.2 million cumulative views.
These numbers clearly indicated that neither the second nor third episodes could match the viewership of the third season premiere. And the third season premiere has already failed to capture the peak viewership numbers of the first season.
Netflix has failed consecutively with 'The Great Indian Kapil Show'.Even top guests make it barely watchable.
The Great Indian Kapil show has not recaptured its first season heyday
Going by viewership numbers alone, The Great Indian Kapil Show has failed to capture the glory days of its first season in either of its follow-up seasons. While Netflix has given no indication of halting production on the series, it remains to be seen how the declining viewership will impact its long-term health.

‘LAC: Battle of Galwan' director on facing CBFC roadblocks: They asked us to remove the photos of the 20 real-life martyrs
Recently, the upcoming movie 'Battle of Galwan' starring Salman Khan made news with the release of its teaser. The movie has been the talk of the town ever since; however, did you know that there is another movie made on the same subject, which was quietly released on YouTube owing to multiple CBFC cuts and suggestions. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The movie we are talking about is 'LAC: Battle of Galwan,' which has been written and directed by Nitin Kumar Gupta. Starring Rahul Roy, the movie presents a fictional version of the 2020 battle between Indian and Chinese troops in Ladakh. The movie was initially planned to be released on June 15, 2023, on the anniversary of the Galwan Valley conflict. 'I wanted the martyrs' families to see the film in theatres," said the director, according to a Mid-Day report. He further highlighted that the film faced significant challenges during its process with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Filmed in November 2020, it was presented to the CBFC in June 2022. Subsequently, it was screened in August for the Additional Directorate General of Public Information committee from the Ministry of Defence, and then again for the CBFC. In September 2022, the board recommended several modifications. 'They asked me to remove LAC from the title, delete references to the actual location, and reduce violence by 33 per cent — essentially asking us to dilute the reality of hand-to-hand combat our soldiers faced," Gupta revaled before adding, 'The most painful was when they asked us to remove the photos of the 20 real-life martyrs from the end credits.' He mentioned that the photos they used were already in the public domain, released by the government with their names. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Despite taking several precautions, which included changing martyrs' names and avoiding direct reference to China. A revised version was sent in September 2022, but there was no reply. Nitin said he tried knocking on every door for three years. Salman Khan's upcoming film, 'Battle of Galwan,' is generating buzz after the release of its intense first look, which showcases a bloodied Salman. While much of the cast remains a mystery, it's now confirmed that Chitrangda Singh will join him as the female lead, highlighting a new on-screen pairing.
