Mia Goth Joins Ryan Gosling in Shawn Levy's "Star Wars: Starfighter"
Mia Goth is headed to a galaxy far, far away.
The 'Pearl' actress has joined the cast of Shawn Levy's 'Star Wars: Starfighter,' which also stars Ryan Gosling.
Details of her role are currently being kept under wraps.
The film is eyeing a fall production start and Disney has set a theatrical release date of May 28, 2027.
Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and chief creative officer Dave Filoni officially unveiled plans for 'Starfighter' at the annual Star Wars Celebration event in Tokyo this April.
The standalone focuses on new characters in the 'Star Wars' universe.
It is set roughly five years after the events of 'Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker,' which concluded the Skywalker saga and currently stands as the final feature chronologically on the 'Star Wars' timeline.
Goth will next appear in Guillermo del Toro's 'Frankenstein' alongside Jacob Elordi and Oscar Isaac, as well as Christopher Nolan's 'The Oddysey' with Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway and Robert Pattinson. Previous credits include 'Emma,' 'Infinity Pool' and Ti West's film series of 'X,' 'Pearl' and 'Maxxxine.'
'Star Wars: Starfighter' marks Levy's directorial follow-up to Marvel Studios' hit buddy comedy 'Deadpool & Wolverine,' which raked in $1.3 billion at the global box office after releasing in July 2024 and stands as the highest-grossing R-rated feature of all-time.
Jonathan Tropper has written the screenplay for the film. Tropper has written prior features for Levy ('The Adam Project,' 'This Is Where I Leave You') and is the creator of the Apple TV+ series 'Your Friends & Neighbors.'

Rare Funerary Stele Handed Over to Al-Imam Al-Shafi'i Antiquities Zone by Archaeologist Tamer El-Menshawy
Ali abo deshish On the morning of July 24, 2025, Egyptian archaeologist Tamer El-Menshawy announced the handover of a rare funerary stele to the Al-Imam Al-Shafi'i Antiquities Zone. The artifact was delivered within the vicinity of the Mosque of Imam Al-Layth Ibn Sa'd, in preparation for its future display at the Al-Imam Al-Shafi'i Visitor Center. El-Menshawy stated that the stele was uncovered during construction work for the new Salah Salem Corridor near the Qubbat Al-Munoufi and the Imam Al-Shafi'i necropolis. He emphasized the significance of this artifact as a rare example of Egypt's funerary heritage. He extended his gratitude to Dr. Rania El-Shiouy, Director of the Al-Imam Al-Shafi'i Antiquities Zone, for her dedicated efforts in safeguarding both local and international heritage. El-Menshawy noted that preserving such artifacts echoes the practices of ancient Egyptians, who chose Anubis as the guardian of tombs — a symbolic reminder of the importance of protecting each piece of the nation's historical legacy. Additionally, the official page of the Al-Imam Al-Shafi'i Antiquities Zone confirmed the receipt of a fragment of the stele — possibly inscribed in Turkish or Persian — in collaboration with civil society. The piece, which had not been previously registered, was handed over by Mr. Tamer El-Menshawy and is now preserved at the zone. It will be reviewed by the relevant committees in the Islamic and Coptic Antiquities Sector for study and potential registration. The department expressed its appreciation for his contribution and affirmed its ongoing commitment to safeguarding Egypt's priceless heritage. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results

Lee Jung-jae, Lim Ji-yeon to Star in Rom-Com Series "Nice to Not Meet You"
Yara Sameh Prime Video has greenlit 'Nice to Not Meet You,' a Korean romantic comedy series that will feature 'Squid Game' lead Lee Jung-jae with 'The Glory' standout Lim Ji-yeon. The show marks a genre shift for Lee Jung-jae, who rose to international fame with his Emmy-winning performance in Netflix's brutal survival thriller 'Squid Game' before expanding into the 'Star Wars' universe with 'The Acolyte.' In the drama, Lee will play Lim Hyeon-jun, an actor pigeonholed in detective roles who's angling for meatier dramatic parts. Lim Ji-yeon, known for her critically acclaimed performance in Netflix revenge thriller 'The Glory,' takes on Wi Jeong-sin, a political reporter whose beat gets switched to entertainment coverage mid-investigation. The character setup promises fish-out-of-water comedy as the serious journalist clashes with the industry she's now forced to cover. Kim Ga-ram, who helmed legal drama 'Good Partner' and Netflix's drama-romance 'Nevertheless,' will direct from scripts by Jung Yeo-rang ('Doctor Cha'). The creative team is positioning the series as both an industry satire and romantic comedy, mining humor from the entertainment world's inner workings. The casting represents a strategic play by Prime Video to capitalize on the global Korean content boom. Lee Jung-jae's post-'Squid Game' star power, combined with Lim Ji-yeon's rising profile, could help the streamer compete with Netflix's dominance in the K-drama space. 'Nice to Not Meet You' will join Prime Video's growing slate of Korean originals, alongside titles like 'Head Over Heels,' 'Good Boy' and anime acquisitions including 'Jujutsu Kaisen 0' and 'Rurouni Kenshin.' Prime Video will roll out the series globally across more than 240 countries and territories with weekly episode drops. No premiere date has been announced. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results

Here's Our First Look at "Spider-Man: Brand New Day"
Yara Sameh Tom Holland's new Spider-Man suit received the briefest teaser in a short video for Marvel and Sony's upcoming 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day.' A nine-second video shows a close-up of Holland's Spidey suit with the caption 'something brand new is coming.' It was posted on August 1, which happens to be National Spider-Man Day. At the end of 'Spider-Man: No Way Home,' there's a quick shot of Holland swinging through New York City in a new suit that resembles the classic, bright red-and-blue costume from the comics. At first glance, the 'Brand New Day' teaser seems like it's similar to that costume, with its sharper colors and raised black edges. There is also a faint, black spider webbing design that's a nod to the original Marvel comics. Marvel fans will have to wait a year for 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day,' which is the next entry in the MCU. Holland will suit up and swing back into theaters on July 31, 2026. The fourth 'Spider-Man' film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Cretton previously collaborated with MCU on 2021's 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.' That Marvel film was praised for its crazy kung-fu action sequences and story, which seems like a great fit for Holland's wall-crawling superhero. 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' will see the return of fellow franchise stars like Zendaya, who plays Peter Parker's girlfriend M.J. Jones-Watson, and Jacob Batalon, who's his best friend Ned Leeds. There are some major additions to the cast as well, like Jon Bernthal, who plays the violent Punisher. He was last seen in Season 1 of 'Daredevil: Born Again' and is expected to return for Season 2, along with a TV special. Bernthal's 'The Bear' co-star Liza Colón-Zayas is also joining 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day,' as is 'Stranger Things' standout Sadie Sink. Their roles remain mysteries, but fans have theorized Sink could be playing the red-haired 'X-Men' character Jean Grey, who's a powerful telepath. The last time Holland suited up as Spidey was in 2021's 'No Way Home,' which saw past Spider-Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield cross over into the MCU. After the heroes defeated several multiversal villains, Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange casted a spell that made everyone in the world forget that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results
