A major music star is set to headline the final celebration for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's lavish wedding weekend in Venice, Italy, capping off days of festivities with a high-energy dance party.
The couple, who tied the knot in a black-tie ceremony on Friday, June 27, have lined up Usher and DJ Cassidy to perform at their last big bash on Saturday night, June 28, according to a source speaking to People Magazine.
'It's the culmination, the final big party,' the source told People, noting that the newlyweds wanted a night centred around music to send off their guests after a packed week of celebrations. 'Tonight is all about the music. It's the culmination, the final big party,' the source said. 'First night was dinner, second was the ceremony with Andrea Bocelli's son performing, and tonight's the full-on dance floor.'
Cassidy, known for his star-studded party sets, has previously performed at events for Oprah, Kris Jenner, and Kourtney Kardashian, making him a favourite for the couple. Usher, another close friend, will also take the stage for the night's entertainment.
The wedding festivities have drawn a who's who of celebrity guests, including Oprah Winfrey, Kim Kardashian, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Tom Brady. The celebrations began earlier in the week with a welcome party featuring gourmet Italian fare, followed by a ceremony serenaded by Matteo Bocelli, and now culminate with a dance party for the ages.
Despite concerns from some locals about disruptions, a source told People Magazine that Venice 'is still running as normal' even with the influx of high-profile visitors.

For days, members of the 'No Space for Bezos' movement have been trying to spoil the party, hanging anti-Bezos banners on the iconic Rialto Bridge and laying out a huge canvas in central Saint Mark's Square telling the tech-tycoon to pay more taxes. While some residents and activists see Bezos' extravaganza as a symbol of inequality and arrogance, Venice's businesses and the city authorities have welcomed the event, claiming a major boost for the local economy.
'Those who protest are in contradiction with the history of Venice, which is a history of relations, contacts and business,' the city's mayor Luigi Brugnaro told Reuters in an interview.
'Bezos embodies the Venetian mentality, he is more Venetian than the protesters,' said the mayor, adding that he hoped Bezos, who donated 3 million euros ($A5.4 million) to local institutions, would return to the city to do business.
Brugnaro said Bezos had attached no conditions to holding his wedding celebrations in Venice, and City Hall had only learned about his donations after they had already been made. Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos' wedding celebration has been moved to a different location. (AP PHOTO) Credit: AAP

Olivia Munn shades Jeff Bezos, Lauren Sánchez with pointed comment after over-the-top $76m wedding

Olivia Munn is back at it. The actress — who made headlines in April for blasting Lauren Sánchez's Blue Origin space flight — appeared to shade the bride and husband Jeff Bezos over their $76 million wedding. One day after Friday's star-studded nuptials in Venice, Italy, Munn reacted to Mia Farrow's Instagram post praising the Amazon founder's ex-wife, Mackenzie Scott, reports Page Six. The former couple, notably, were married from 1993 to 2019 and welcomed four children during their time together. 'How awesome is MacKenzie Scott! (Jeff Bezos first wife & mother of his 4 children),' Saturday's social media upload read. 'As of mid-December 2024, she had given a total of $19.3 billion to over 1600 charitable organisations.' Munn, 44, commented, 'Truly incredible.' The Your Friends & Neighbors star wasn't the only celeb to gush over Scott, 55, in the wake of Bezos' extravagant ceremony. Actress Rosanna Arquette labelled the novelist 'a force of humanity and good,' while Sarah Jessica Parker, Katie Holmes and Mandy Moore 'liked' the post. Charlize Theron ripped into the newlyweds outright over the weekend, quipping that 'they suck.' Reps for Munn, Bezos and Sánchez did not immediately respond to Page Six 's requests for comment. Munn previously made headlines in April when she referred to Sánchez's historic, all-female trip to space as 'gluttonous' during a US Today show appearance. 'There are so many other things that are so important in the world right now,' the Newsroom alum said. 'It's so much money to go to space, and there's a lot of people who can't even afford eggs,' she added. At the time, Munn was joined by Olivia Wilde, Amy Schumer and Emily Ratajkowski in shading the former journalist. Wilde, 41, told her followers that at least the 'billionaires bought some good memes,' while Schumer, 44, joked about the items the women brought to space. Ratajkowski, for her part, said that she was 'disgusted' by the flight, which was 'built and paid for by a company that is single-handedly destroying the planet.' When Munn got married in July 2024 to comedian John Mulaney, with whom she shares two children, the ceremony was a private affair at a friend's home in New York. The low-key event was attended by son Malcolm, a witness and officiant Sam Waterston. Bezos and Sánchez's wedding, meanwhile, was swarmed with A-listers from Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Brady to Sydney Sweeney and Kim Kardashian.

Breakers to get down in hope of international glory

Australia's best breakers will go head-to-head for a chance to compete at the international championships in Japan, as the energetic street dancing sport enjoys a surge in popularity. The Red Bull BC One Cypher Australia one-on-one national championships will be held in Brisbane in August, with the nation's best breakdancers going at it for an opportunity at international glory. It marks the first time the city will host the national finals since its inception nearly 20 years ago. "Queensland has some of the best breakers in the country, so for us to not travel and have our family and friends come and support us, it's pretty awesome," Leah 'B-Girl Flix' Clark told AAP. Sixteen of the best male and eight of the premier female breakers will battle one-on-one at Brisbane's Powerhouse in New Farm on August 24. The two winners will head to Tokyo in November where breaking glory beckons. Breaking has surged in popularity and gained worldwide attention following its involvement in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games sports program. Australian breaker Rachael Gunn, known as B-Girl 'Raygun', was subject to a hostile response in mainstream media and online following her failure to score any points at the Olympics in routines that included a "kangaroo" dance. Clark said engagement with the sport had grown off the back of Paris 2024. "The greatest thing that came out of that Olympics was so many eyes now on our sport and people were actually really researching what breaking was," she said. "We've definitely seen audience growth as well, people coming through to actually see what it's like in real life." For Australian Red Bull Breaking champion Chris 'B-Boy Cielo' Cielo, the national championship is a chance to regain his title and return to the international stage. Cielo says he has seen first-hand how the sport has grown in Australia with a strong contingent of youth coming through. But that hasn't stifled his ambition to reach the top again. "Everyone's real encouraging and everyone likes to train hard and just win," he said. "It's not like anything else, man. It's high energy, it's very competitive, but it's awesome. "Everyone's enjoying the music, the vibe is high, everyone's letting out their best moves and it's just cool, man. It's like a footy game, but dancing." Breakers are judged on their dynamics, creativity, character, cleanliness, fluidity, transitions and execution. They also do not get to choose their own music, which can make or break a battle, Clark said. "If you've got a track that maybe you're not vibing or you've got a really awesome track that just hypes you up - it's totally spontaneous," she said.

North 54, a modern Vietnamese snack bar from an emerging cooking talent, is coming to Leederville this winter

In his short yet action-packed career as a chef, Bac Pham has cooked many cuisines. He's cooked modern Australian at State Buildings' bustling Petition Kitchen. He's dabbled in Italian cucina at Swanbourne wine bar Vinotto. He's even helped advance the new-wave bowlo food movement with the Special Delivery crew at Doubleview Bowling Club. This July, Pham finally gets to focus full-time on the flavours of his heritage when he opens North 54: a fresh-faced, 25-seat eatery in Leederville serving Vietnamese food. Vietnamese food, it's worth mentioning, as viewed through the lens and life story of a Vietnamese-born, Australian-raised latecomer to the cooking game. 'It's authentic, but it's definitely not traditional [Vietnamese cooking],' says Pham. 'I'm cooking traditional recipes but not doing them the traditional way.
