Mum ‘gets life back' by losing 6 stone after quitting ‘energy drinks'
Mum-of-three Danielle Broadway described getting her life back by losing 90 pounds (six stone) after quitting drinking energy drinks every day. The 30-year-old had a main goal when starting her fitness journey, which was to to feel better. "If I lost weight it would've been a huge bonus for me, but I just wanted to feel better in my gut," she says.
Danielle says that she had 'always felt bloated', 'would get sick from the most random foods', 'was always breaking out' and 'hated the way' she felt on a day to day basis. That was until she done some research online and came across the Simple app. It was through the app that Danielle discovered intermittent fasting - which ended up being a gamechanger for both her weight and, she claims, her gut health.
Intermittent fasting involves eating within a specified 'eating window', with the most popular being the 16:8 split of fasting to eating. However, it was not plain sailing, as she says: "So I will be honest, the first three days were the hardest, because I was pretty much putting my body into shock by cutting out a lot of things that I was eating that were not good for me.
"But the Simple app gave me some recipe recommendations that I used and they worked so well with my gut. I ended up dropping 42lbs in five months. And I changed nothing [else] about my lifestyle, I ate better, I felt amazing, I had all this sustained energy. I was able to cut out all energy drinks - I had a huge hankering for energy drinks.
"I knew I had to cut them out eventually because I did not want to drink those for the rest of my life. But I was able to get off the caffeine, I have all this energy, my skin has not been breaking out, I feel amazing. I feel better in my clothes, I've had no issues eating anything. I really believe I reset my gut health completely. So I'm super grateful for Simple."
Simple is an AI coaching app for adults who want to live a healthier lifestyle. It's aiming to reshape the science behind weight loss in comparison to the restrictive diet industry. The method used by Simple was shaped by a team of nutritional, behavioural change, digital health and medicine experts, and shoppers can now use the code REACH60 to save 60% off.
Users have to fill out a detailed survey covering their health goals, preferences, and past experiences with weight loss. After this they have access to a number of features on the app including food logging, intermittent fasting trackers, a nutriscanner which is designed to help customers understand the nutrition in meals. It also has daily workout plans and their main feature which is Avo - a personal wellness assistant, powered by AI and instantly answers users' questions.
Danielle says after a tricky start, she's fully committed to the programme now: "Intermittent fasting is a lifestyle change, it's not something that happened over night for me. It took many, many months in order for me to fully commit to the lifestyle and now it's just part of my daily life.
"It had a huge snowball effect into every aspect of my life. I learned how to do more things for myself, get into new hobbies, I started taking really good care of myself, I got confidence, and I got my life back. You need to be kind to yourself and celebrate these small victories."
She added: "If I had any advice for staying motivated with your goals, it's to be kind to yourself. It isn't a steady ascension, it's a constant up and down and the key is not to be discouraged when it is down. Celebrate the smallest victories, you are doing amazing things out there."
If this app isn't exactly what customers had in mind, there are a range of other fitness apps available such as the Lifesum app. This app is said to help users track their dietary and fitness habits., record food, exercise and other measures and has the aim to help establish healthier choices. Another option could be Myfitnesspal which is one of the most well-loved trackers. With features such as meal planning, calorie counting and workout routines - it is another solid choice. Both apps are free but also offer premium options for users seeking additional help and resources.
The Simple App also has a high 4.3 out of 5 star rating on Trustpilot from over 30,000 reviews. One user said: "I love this app because it's so easy and fun checking my progress and making sure I am doing it right."
Another person said: "Honestly I wasn't really excited about doing any kind of exercise or healthy eating but this app has made it so simple and easy and it's actually kind of fun. If you know me, I don't do diets or exercise at all, so that says a lot for this app."
Not every app or fitness regime will be for everyone and some others did share opposing views on Simple. One user said: "It's too busy, simplify the app." Another said: "I don't understand it 100%."
"The customer service response time was amazingly fast," another user said. "They were very helpful, very quick. Thank your team for being great."
The Simple app is currently 60% off with code REACH60.

Yo-yo dieter, 66, looks 'unrecognisable' on dog walks after four stone weight loss
Teresa, 66, from Plymouth, had been dieting her whole life and says it was 'sometimes successful, sometimes not successful' - but then she made one change A 66 year old Plymouth resident, who had spent decades yo-yo dieting, describes her efforts as 'sometimes successful, sometimes not successful. ' From 2013 onwards, Teresa found herself on a downward spiral, piling on the pounds year after year, which took a devastating toll on her mental wellbeing. "I couldn't do anything, couldn't go anywhere and didn't feel I had the right to go anywhere, which is really sad," she reveals. Everything changed in January 2025 when she tipped the scales at 223 pounds (16 stone) and stumbled upon the Simple app whilst browsing on her mobile, introducing her to intermittent fasting for the first time. "People have told me about fasting before but I never thought I would be able to do it. I thought I would go faint, I would pass out, I wouldn't be able to go without food so I discarded it," she admits. But Teresa now feels as though someone has completely rewired her relationship with food after six decades of struggle, all thanks to the application. Simple is an AI-powered coaching platform designed for adults seeking a healthier way of life, and customers can currently use the code REACH60 to slash 60% off Simple weight loss programmes. Via the application, which boasts millions of downloads according to the company, users kick-start their transformation by completing an in-depth questionnaire about their wellness objectives, dietary preferences and previous slimming attempts. Then, just like Teresa, users can enjoy the convenience of logging food through typing, voice or photo, use intermittent fasting trackers, a NutriScanner (which clarifies the nutritional content of meals), and access daily workout plans that cover a range of activities from strength training and cardio to pilates, reports Plymouth Live. Discussing the app's impact on her life, Teresa shared: "It's about getting your mind into that healthy place where you can relax around food. I've always had a nightmare around eating food, with people telling me, 'You shouldn't eat that, you shouldn't eat that.'". "But now I've got people who are totally shocked by how much food I do actually eat." She also noticed a significant shift in how others perceive her: "And compliments - that's a big thing, learning to accept compliments. People also don't recognise you, but they recognise my dogs, and they go 'Oh, it is you, well done, you look amazing.' And to be fair, I actually feel amazing and I can't thank Simple enough." Additionally, there's Avo, the in-app AI coach that provides instant answers to user queries, acting as a "personal wellness assistant" powered by AI. Users can seek advice on things like healthy recipes, snack options, or specific workouts, and since it's available 24/7, it becomes more attuned to individual preferences the more it's used. "After 175 days, I'm now weighing in at 167 pounds and I'm feeling very very happy about that," Teresa reveals. "Another big thing for me is logging my food. If I've eaten that, I log it. Even if it isn't right, because I don't think there's good or bad food. Simple all the way." For those seeking alternatives, numerous other fitness applications exist, including Myfitnesspal, which stands as one of the most beloved tracking platforms available. Boasting capabilities like meal planning, calorie monitoring and exercise programmes, it represents a reliable option. Lifesum presents another possibility, designed to help individuals monitor their nutritional and fitness behaviours. The platform logs meals, physical activity and various metrics whilst aiming to encourage healthier decisions. Both applications offer free versions alongside premium subscriptions for those wanting extra support and features. However, Simple app users have expressed enthusiasm about their experiences. "This app has been absolutely life changing for just made everything so simple... I can actually do things I love to a long walk with my kids," one person shared. Another commented on Trustpilot: "I love it so far it helps keep track of my progress." Yet some users held different views, with one noting: "It's probably good for someone who has the time to track and log throughout the day, but it's a bit busy for my needs. "So far I'm enjoying this app. The exercises are great. The coach is very helpful and it's keeping track of my goals," another user remarked. Simple is currently 60% off with code REACH60.
