What these cut-offs mean
Each UGC NET cycle determines cut-offs based on:
Total number of test-takers
Subject difficulty
Number of available fellowships and teaching positions
Reservation norms
Candidates scoring equal to or above the cut-off in their respective categories are eligible for that level of qualification.
What's next for qualified candidates?
JRF awardees become eligible for government-funded research fellowships during their PhD studies.
Assistant Professor-qualified candidates can apply directly for faculty roles in colleges and universities.
PhD-only eligible candidates meet minimum requirements for doctoral program admissions, but not for lectureship or fellowship unless further qualified.
