Tracy Morgan to star in new NBC comedy pilot
The series, which is in development, comes from 30 Rock veterans Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, and Sam Means. Carlock and Means are writing the pilot, with Rhys Thomas directing and serving as an executive producer. The project is produced by Universal Television, Little Stranger, Bevel Gears, and 3 Arts. No other cast members have been announced at this time.
Should the pilot be picked up, the show will air on NBC. Morgan's involvement in the project comes shortly after his announcement to star in the Paramount+ spinoff of CBS' The Neighborhood, titled Crutch. In this series, Morgan will play the cousin of Cedric the Entertainer's character, Calvin Butler. His deal allows him to star in both shows simultaneously.
Morgan is best known for his role as Tracy Jordan on 30 Rock, which aired from 2006 to 2013. He earned an Emmy nomination for his portrayal of the unpredictable star of the fictional NBC sketch comedy show 'TGS.' Before his 30 Rock fame, Morgan spent seven years on Saturday Night Live, creating memorable characters like Astronaut Jones and Brian Fellows. Morgan's other credits include The Last OG, Crank Yankers, and stand-up specials such as Takin' It Too Far and Bona Fide.

Julie Bowen's first reaction to Happy Gilmore 2 script
Julie Bowen is opening up about her unexpected storyline in Happy Gilmore 2, the long-awaited sequel to the 1996 comedy classic. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the Emmy-winning actress revealed her reaction upon learning her character, Virginia Venit, dies within the first few minutes of the film. Bowen, 55, reprises her role as Virginia, who in the sequel is now married to Happy Gilmore, played once again by Adam Sandler. The couple has five children together — but the family moment is short-lived. Just minutes into the film, Virginia is struck and killed by a golf ball hit by her husband during a tournament. "When I found out that I was killed on page 12, I started laughing," Bowen told PEOPLE. She explained she was on vacation with limited phone access when she read the script. "I only had my phone, and I was like, 'Am I seeing this right?' Trying to blow it up," she recalled. Despite the abrupt ending for her character, Bowen embraced the twist with humor. "I go, 'I don't care. It's great. Happy can't be happy,'" she joked, noting how Sandler tried to reach her during her trip to discuss the plot. Bowen said she was honored to be included in the sequel, even with a limited on-screen role. "It's just fun to be part of the whole thing," she shared. "Of course, why would I not want to be part of Happy Gilmore, whether I'm a big part, a little part." She also praised Sandler's commitment to bringing back original cast members, calling it important to him. Though Virginia dies early in the story, Bowen revealed that her character remains central through Happy's emotional journey. 'His love for me drives the story,' she said, explaining how memories of Virginia motivate him to perform and parent well.

From prison bars to Emmy buzz: ‘Adolescence' star Ashley Walters' wild Hollywood comeback shocks fans
Ashley Walters' Hollywood breakthrough reads like a plot twist nobody saw coming. The former So Solid Crew rapper turned actor, once jailed for gun possession and barred from entering the United States, is now rubbing shoulders with Steven Spielberg and M. Night Shyamalan and he's up for an Emmy. In 2002, Walters, then 19, was sentenced to 18 months in a young offenders' institution for possession of a firearm. The conviction left a stain on his career and shut him out of the American industry for years. 'I was basically banned from the country,' he admitted. While he built a name in the UK through gritty dramas like Top Boy and co-creating Bulletproof, the global stage remained out of reach. That all changed with Adolescence. The Netflix series, which became the platform's most-watched show of 2025 with 145 million views, not only catapulted Walters into awards contention but reopened doors once slammed shut. 'Five years ago, there was absolutely no chance that I was going to be in this position,' he said through tears to his close friend and co-star Stephen Graham. Now filming Shyamalan's supernatural thriller Remain alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, Walters is finally living the Hollywood dream he once gave up on. Spielberg's team reportedly reached out after Adolescence, and a major new TV role is already lined up, written specifically for him. Ironically, Walters had been preparing to quit acting entirely before Adolescence reignited his screen career. He was deep into directing his passion project Animol, a film inspired by his own time behind bars. The shoot is now on hold as his acting resurgence takes centre stage. From Peckham to Emmy-nominated prestige, Walters' redemption arc is nearly unbelievable, even to him. 'It's crazy, it's nuts, it's surreal,' he said. 'Man, this boy from Peckham!'
