Why a photo comparison of Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom is going viral

A photo comparison of Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom going viral has struck a nerve with many women.
The former Hollywood power couple announced their split today in a joint statement and it used the typical flowery language that accompanies a celebrity break-up - ever since Gwyneth Paltrow made 'consciously uncoupling' cool with Chris Martin.
The pop singer, 40, and actor, 48, have been engaged for six years after getting together back in 2017.
They welcomed their daughter Daisy in 2020.
In a joint statement the pair said that their daughter will remain their 'priority' and they will focus on moving forward as a family with 'love, stability and mutual respect', but their romantic relationship is over.
Rumours have been swirling for weeks that their relationship is over, and the fact that Orlando Bloom attended Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding solo only increased the pressure.
While Bloom was seen looking glam and hanging out with fellow wedding guests like A-lister Sydney Sweeney and Kylie Jenner, Perry was touring across the world with her Lifetimes Tour and was spotted travelling with their young daughter.
It is a comparison that fans and particularly women are struggling with, because, well, no one wants to see their ex-partner hanging out in Italy and looking relaxed and gorgeous.
You want them to be housebound and gaining some stress break-up weight. Under no circumstances do you want them looking tanned and hanging out with movie stars who are in their 20s.
One particular tweet went viral as someone online pointed out the stark difference in the lives since their separation.
Bloom is rubbing shoulders with upcoming A-listers like Sydney Sweeney, and Perry is seen walking through an airport with their young daughter.
He is having a hot man European summer, and she's dealing with airport security lines; it hardly seems fair.
He looks like he's never been doing better, and she looks like she's struggling through a difficult time.
Online women have shown a lot of support for Perry, commenting that they feel 'so bad' or 'so sorry' for her.
'This is why I don't trust men,' one wrote.
Others, though, don't really get it.
As someone wrote, 'Orlando has done nothing wrong', and another said the comparison photos left them more 'confused' than anything else.
Women, though, in general seem to get it, because it isn't really about Bloom or Perry personally, but rather what the photos represent.
While Perry is with their daughter and dealing with a demanding work schedule, Bloom is on holiday and living it up.
The truth is, photos seldom tell us how anyone feels.
We've all been at a party and looked like we were having the time of our lives and then cried in the Uber on the way home.
But it is hard for Bloom's actions not to look flippant.
No one wants their ex to be having the time of their lives days after you've called it off, while you're trekking through an airport.
The photos have hit a nerve with women because we all know what it is like to have your heartbroken and feel like the man that things didn't work out with is doing perfectly fine. That is really annoying!
While it's true; Bloom has done nothing wrong, the comparison photos certainly don't feel right when you're looking at them.

Best friend of Sean ‘Diddy' Combs' late ex-wife has shocking reaction to verdict

Kim Porter's best friend, Eboni Elektra, has stayed silent about Sean 'Diddy' Combs' legal troubles — until now. The 54-year-old broke her silence via Instagram on Wednesday after the rapper's mixed verdict was revealed, reports Page Six. The Grammy winner, notably, was found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution but acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering. 'PRAISE GOD,' Elektra captioned a close-up photo of Combs' face. 'OPINIONS …. we are all entitled to them. MISTAKES … we all make them. JUDGING … we all do it. GOSSIP …. we are all guilty of it. 'GOD'S WILL … is higher than any opinion, mistake, Judgement, or gossip,' she continued. 'If this is God's will for Puff / diddy, than that's His will. In the end, what we think does not compare to His will.' Elektra concluded by asking, 'WHO ARE WE TO JUDGE??? That's God's job. It's all in His hands. U never know. #isallintheword#readyourbible … my opinionâ¤ï¸.' T.I.'s wife, Tameka 'Tiny' Harris supported Elektra in the comments, defending 'being freaky.' Many social media users, however, blasted Elektra's reaction, calling her a 'clown.' One claimed, 'Poor Kim it's becoming very apparent she had no REAL friends,' while another added, 'You haven't made not one comment about this until now. Really should've kept it that way, but hey.' A third pointed out that Combs' on-again, off-again ex-girlfriend Cassie — who testified in Combs' six-week trial about the alleged rape and physical abuse she endured during their relationship — follows Elektra and may have seen the 'sick' post. Cassie, 38, dated the Bad Boy Records founder between 2007 and 2018. Porter, for her part, was romantically linked to Combs from 1994 to 2007, and the duo shared four kids — Quincy, 34, Christian 'King,' 27, and twins D'Lila and Jessie, 18. Combs, notably, is also the father of Justin, 31, Chance, 18, and Love, 2. Porter, whose children have supported Combs in court, died in November 2018 at age 47. Five years later, Combs' legal battle kicked off when Cassie sued him in a bombshell lawsuit, which he quickly settled for $20 million. The dancer's claims, as well as a 2016 video that surfaced of Combs beating Cassie in a hotel, led many to speculate about his dynamic with Porter — including the late model's 'disgusted' dad. 'I didn't know he could stoop that low,' Jake Porter told Rolling Stone last year, saying it gave him a 'different outlook' that made him 'wonder' about Combs. The record executive was arrested in September 2024 following headline-making raids on his homes, with his federal court case beginning in May. Combs is facing up to 20 years in prison. He was denied bail on Wednesday due to a 'disregard for the rule of law and a propensity of violence.' Combs' sentencing is scheduled for October 3.

Olivia Munn claims director ‘wanted to ruin' her career over on-set clash

A director Olivia Munn worked with allegedly tried to kill her acting career in retaliation for their on-set feud. The actress, 45, alleged on the Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast earlier this week that her manager informed her that an unnamed filmmaker had been badmouthing her to casting directors. She said her rep told her, 'Hey, you're gonna get the role. But first, I guess there's another director who they know and he says that on The Newsroom you were late all the time and really combative.' Munn denied the director's claims about her tardiness and chalked up the rest to him just 'trying to bash' her because they had disagreements about creative differences on set. She said she worked with the filmmaker on Seasons 2 and 3 of the popular HBO series, and they particularly butted heads over her romance storyline with Thomas Sadoski's character, Don Keefer. 'He kept trying to force me to carry that storyline — only on my side,' Munn claimed. She also alleged that the director would ask her to flirtatiously 'smile' or 'kiss' her love interest when her character, Sloan Sabbith, was supposed to be in the middle of working. 'I've got this new Bloomberg machine, and I'm so excited, and he's like, 'Can you look out at him and smile?'' the X-Men: Apocalypse star claimed. Munn claimed that one 'insane' request was when Sabbith found out Keefer had been doing 'insider trading' and the director told her, 'I don't think that you're that angry at him. It's kind of funny.' 'I just fought back so much,' she said, claiming that the final straw for her was one scene when she simply had to tell the director, 'No, I'm not doing (that).' He allegedly responded, 'Look, it's my job as a director to see all the different colours of the rainbow and you are looking at only one colour, and I don't think you realise how you're coming off.' When she asked him to clarify how she was being perceived — to which he allegedly replied, 'Really forceful and strong' — the Predator star said she told him, 'Great, that's what I wanted,' and walked away. Once their issues became known to those involved in her future auditions, Munn said she had her reps explain the situation and she said she still got the role. 'But I will always remember that,' the Your Friends & Neighbors star reflected, 'just because of our conflicts of how we approached a role, he wanted to ruin my chances of getting anything else.' According to IMDb, there were 11 male directors that worked on The Newsroom from 2012 to 2014. Munn's rep did not immediately return Page Six's request for further comments on the matter.
