Telangana HC halts action on Khajaguda property until owners hearing
HYDERABAD: The Telangana high court has restrained the
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation
(GHMC) from taking any coercive action against Abubakar Bin Mohammed and Omer Bin Mohammed - owners of a property affected by the proposed multi-level flyover at Khajaguda Junction - until they are granted a hearing.
Justice NV Shravan Kumar granted interim relief while disposing of a petition challenging the acquisition of additional land under the Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure (H-CITI) project.
The petitioners said their family had already surrendered 1011 square yards for road widening in 2008, after which GHMC granted them permission to construct a multi-storey building in the remaining land.

However, the remaining 219 square yards are now part of the proposed alignment for the flyover, prompting fresh acquisition efforts, they said.
The GHMC, in a June 2025 order, asked them to hand over possession of the land and promised structure compensation, according to the petitioners.
They claimed that although they submitted a representation to GHMC on Jan 23, 2024, they received no response until they were asked to accept the acquisition and compensation, including Transferable Development Rights (TDR).

GHMC's counsel told the court that objections to the acquisition could be filed until July 31, 2025, and assured that the petitioners' concerns would be duly considered.
The court directed GHMC to resolve the representation within four weeks after giving the petitioners a fair hearing, and barred any coercive steps during this period.

AP forms high-level panel to fast-track MSME tourism projects
Vijayawada: In a move to accelerate tourism development and promote entrepreneurship in the state, the govt has constituted a high-level committee to oversee the land allotment process for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode. This follows the rollout of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Land Allotment Policy 2024–2029 and aligns with the overarching Tourism Policy 2024–2029. Jio Q1 results: Net profit rises 25% to Rs 7,110 crore, revenue climbs on subscriber surge
Digital and telecom arm of Reliance Industries , Jio Platforms Ltd, reported a 25% year-on-year (YoY) rise in net profit at Rs 7,110 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2025. The company's gross revenue for the first quarter of FY26 climbed 19% YoY to Rs 41,054 crore, according to the consolidated earnings release issued by Reliance Industries. The growth in revenue was attributed to a strong increase in subscriber base across both mobility and home segments, along with greater customer engagement and a growing digital services business, the company said, reported PTI. Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani said, 'Jio has scaled newer heights during the quarter, including crossing 200 million 5G subscribers and 20 million home connects.' He added, 'Jio AirFiber is now the largest FWA (Fixed Wireless Access) service provider in the world, with a base of 7.4 million subscribers. Our Digital Services business consolidated its market position with a robust financial and operational performance.'
