
Pak authorities announce closure of selected air traffic routes for 2 days
The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) in a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) said that the 'selected routes would remain closed for air traffic on both July 22 and 23 from 5:15 UTC to 8:15 UTC." The selected routes within 'Karachi and Lahore Flight Information Regions are not available from ground level to unlimited altitude due to operational reasons," PAA added.
It indicated that the routes will be closed to 'all aircraft regardless of altitude due to operational issues, which could include military activity, maintenance, airspace reconfiguration, etc." The NOTAM also provided details of all routes and available alternatives. PTI SH RD RD RD

Air India Cancels Delhi-Milan Flight Following Tech Snag In Dreamliner, Check Details

'Flight AI137 scheduled to operate from Delhi to Milan on 5 August has been cancelled due to a maintenance task identified prior to departure which required additional time for rectification. Our ground colleagues in Delhi are making every possible effort to minimise the inconvenience caused to the passengers due to this unforeseen disruption," the airline said in a statement. The airline also said that arrangements are being made to fly the passengers to Milan at the earliest. 'Hotel accommodation is being provided, and full refunds on cancellation, or complimentary rescheduling is also being offered to passengers based on their preference," it added. Details about the number of passengers were not disclosed. Rajasthan CM announces free bus travel for women on Raksha Bandhan
Last Updated: Representational image (Image: News18) Jaipur, August 5 (PTI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Tuesday announce free travel for women in state roadway buses on the day on Raksha Bandhan on August 9 and the following day. According to an official statement, the free travel facility will be available to women for journeys within the state limits of Rajasthan on August 9 and 10. This initiative marks the first time women will be allowed to travel for free on roadways buses for two consecutive days. Earlier, they were allowed to travel free of cost only on the day of Raksha Bandhan. The RSRTC issued the order for free travel in all categories of buses excluding AC, Volvo and All India permit buses. Spirit Air unveils flight operational plan for Bihar under UDAN scheme
Patna, Aug 5 (PTI) Spirit Air on Tuesday announced its flight operational plan in Bihar under the Ministry of Civil Aviation's flagship regional connectivity scheme (RCS) — UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik). 'Spirit Air will begin operations in phases from the upcoming airports in Bihar that include: Birpur, Saharsa, Munger, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Raxaul, Valmiki Nagar and Bihta," said the company in a press statement issued here on Tuesday. A high-level meeting between the promoter of Spirit Air, Subodh Verma and Additional Chief Secretary (Cabinet Secretariat), Bihar government, S Siddharth was held here on Tuesday. The flight operational plan of Spirit Air under UDAN in Bihar was discussed at length. 'The upcoming airports in Bihar will be connected to: (1)Varanasi — providing onward connections to Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad (2) Bangalore — Hyderabad, Chennai through Spirit Air's partner airlines (3) Bihta — to facilitate direct access to the state capital, Patna and Bihta to Jamshedpur, Bokaro," said the statement. In Phase II, Spirit Air will introduce international connectivity, including: Muzaffarpur to Kathmandu and Janakpur (Nepal), Birpur to Rajbiraj and Biratnagar (Nepal) and Valmiki Nagar to Kathmandu and Bhairahawa (Nepal) and Bihta to Kathmandu, it said. 'This strategic initiative aligns with the Government of India's vision to make air travel accessible to the common citizen and catalyse regional growth across underserved areas. Its versatile fleet for upcoming RCS operations in Bihar will include: Islander BN2T-4S-STOL, capable, adaptable for passenger, cargo, and medevac operations and King Air 250–high-performance aircraft offering comfort, pressurisation, and multi-mission flexibility," said the release. The Bihar Cabinet on June 17 this year gave its go ahead for signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Directorate of Aviation of the state government and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for developing airports in six cities. The new airports will be developed in Madhubani, Birpur in Supaul, Munger, Valmiki Nagar in Bettiah, Muzaffarpur and Saharsa under the Centre's UDAN scheme. A total of Rs 150 crore (25 crore for each airport) has been allocated for the purpose by the authorities concerned.
