The PAP secured a commanding win with 65.57 per cent of the national vote - marking an improvement of more than four percentage points compared to its 2020 performance.
It secured five seats uncontested in the Marine Parade–Braddell Heights Group Representation Constituency (GRC) on nomination day.
The resounding victory signals a strong mandate for caretaker Prime Minister and PAP secretary-general Lawrence Wong, who led the party into a general election for the first time.
Speaking at a press conference following the victory, Wong said he was humbled and grateful for the results, pledging to serve all Singaporeans — regardless of how they voted — with humility and a strong sense of responsibility.
Expressing satisfaction with the outcome, he noted that the results would place Singapore in a stronger position to navigate an increasingly uncertain world, especially with all key members of his team successfully elected.
'It is a clear signal of trust, stability, and confidence in your government. My immediate task is to form my cabinet. I will announce the cabinet lineup when ready,' he added.

Local Companies Urged To Showcase Homegrown Products At DSA & NATSEC Asia 2026
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin (second, left) visits the exhibition site of the 17th International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF 2025) as part of his three-day official visit to Istanbul. --fotoBERNAMA (2025) COPYRIGHT RESERVED From Mohd Adli Shahar ISTANBUL, July 26 (Bernama) -- Malaysian companies have been urged to showcase their own locally developed products at the Defence Services Asia (DSA) and National Security (NatSec) Asia 2026 Exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, as part of efforts to strengthen the nation's defence industry. Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said the exhibition, scheduled to take place in April next year, serves as a key platform to showcase the country's defence and military advancements, as well as to foster collaboration among various industry players. He added that the products on display could include those developed using local technology or through partnerships with foreign companies. 'I hope next year's DSA will be more meaningful by highlighting the participation of Malaysian companies that are now actively establishing themselves in the defence industry. 'Previously, many local participants were merely representatives of foreign firms. However, we hope that next year's edition will also include companies developing their own homegrown technology,' he told reporters here. Mohamed Khaled is currently in Türkiye for a three-day official visit to attend the International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF) 2025 and to inspect the construction of the second batch of three Littoral Mission Ships (LMS) by defence company Savunma Teknolojileri Mühendislik (STM). In a related development, Mohamed Khaled said several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between Malaysian and foreign companies were signed during his attendance at IDEF 2025. He said the MoUs covered various areas, including satellite communication solutions, joint development programmes for defence electronic systems, electronic warfare products, and the production of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems.

‘It was not an easy decision'
SHAH ALAM, 22 Julai -- Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim menyampaikan ucapan pada Majlis Peluncuran Buku Melukis Dengan Hati: Biografi Perjalanan Seni 50 Tahun Karya Zunar di Pustaka Raja Tun Uda hari ini. -- fotoBERNAMA (2025) HAK CIPTA TERPELIHARA JITRA: Slashing the price of RON95 petrol, even if it is only by six sen was not an easy decision to make as the government needs to take into account the financial implications for the country, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The Prime Minister said this was why he had to take a few more days to ensure a thorough evaluation before announcing the RON95 price reduction from RM2.05 to RM1.99 per litre. 'Yes, countries like Thailand and Singapore may have adjusted their prices earlier, but ours is still lower. '(You) want to disagree, it's okay, but please know this was not an easy decision. That's why it took days to finalise. 'Don't belittle this effort. Some say it's just a six-sen difference, but they didn't hear the full explanation,' he said at the National Anti-Drug Day celebration yesterday. Anwar also addressed criticisms of the government's decision not to extend fuel subsidies to foreign nationals, reiterating that such support is meant solely for Malaysians, as foreigners do not pay taxes to the government. 'I am puzzled with the Opposition's statement that we are burdening foreigners, claiming they too contribute to the country. 'I don't understand, in what part of the world are foreigners treated the same as citizens?' he said, Bernama reported. The Prime Minister also defended the one-off RM100 cash aid under the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara) programme for all Malaysians aged 18 and above. 'This RM100 aid stems from an increased government allocation, from RM13bil to RM15bil. 'A husband and wife will each receive RM100, and if they have children aged 18 and above, they will receive it too,' he said. Anwar also highlighted the government's decision to defer toll rate hikes, acknowledging that the move carries a financial cost of up to RM500mil to the federal budget. 'According to the agreement, toll rates should have gone up this year. I wasn't the one who signed that deal; the previous government did. 'If we don't raise the toll, the government must compensate the concessionaires. We chose not to raise it to avoid burdening the people. So even if there's no 'thank you', at least don't condemn us,' he said. On Wednesday, the Prime Minister announced a series of measures aimed at easing the cost of living. At the event, the Prime Minister expressed concern over the number of individuals involved in drug abuse, particularly among the Malay youth. 'The numbers are terrifying – loss of productivity, collapse of spirit. When it comes to drugs, we have to act. 'Hundreds of thousands of our young people are involved, especially among the poor and those with weak educational backgrounds. 'Their future is in ruins because of drugs,' he said.

Tun Ramli pledges to engage directly with the people of Penang, not just as a state symbol
GEORGE TOWN, 25 Julai -- Yang Dipertua Negeri Pulau Pinang Tun Ramli Ngah Talib ketika ditemu bual eksklusif bersama Bernama di Seri Mutiara baru-baru ini. -- fotoBERNAMA (2025) HAK CIPTA TERPELIHARA GEORGE TOWN: The Governor of Penang, His Excellency Tun Ramli Ngah Talib (pic) , has pledged his commitment to engaging directly with the people, in line with his role as a symbol of unity and a bridge between leaders and communities. Although no longer active in frontline politics, Tun Ramli believes effective leadership continues to depend on a leader's ability to understand the realities of people's lives and to truly listen to their concerns. Armed with 17 years of experience as Perak Menteri Besar from 1982 to 1999, Tun Ramli said he hopes to bring a people-first approach to his role as the ninth Governor of Penang, following his official swearing-in on May 1. "As Governor, I, too, must go down to the ground and meet the people as much as I can. If we are not familiar with or close to them, they won't open up, they'll keep things to themselves. That's not healthy and shouldn't happen. "In my view, it's important to understand the people's 'tastes', not just in terms of food but in terms of customs and practices. If I am here in Penang, I must understand their feelings. That's how, little by little, I become one with the people of Penang,' he shared in a recent exclusive interview with Bernama, conducted by editor-in-chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj and Penang Bureau chief R. Ratcharathan at Seri Mutiara here. Drawing from his extensive experience in public administration, Tun Ramli emphasised that all leaders must embrace the principle of 'going to the ground' to better grasp the needs and challenges faced by the people at the grassroots, and to help address them within their capacity. While the Governor's roles and responsibilities are outlined in the Penang State Constitution, Tun Ramli believes that the Governor's Office should also function as an informed part of government. "When the state assembly is in session, the Governor is essentially working too. When the state executive council convenes, the Governor is also involved in principle. The Governor has the right to know what is happening and to advise on issues that should be addressed,' he said. Tun Ramli stressed that he does not wish to be a mere figurehead, but a unifying voice and a conduit between the people and their leaders. Reflecting on his appointment, the Governor revealed that his name had been mentioned before, including four years ago, but no official approach was made at the time. While he was aware of recent speculation, he kept his expectations modest until the formal appointment. On April 24, Tun Ramli received his letter of appointment from His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, at a ceremony at Istana Negara, making him Penang's ninth Governor effective May 1, 2025. He succeeded Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak, who had served since May 1, 2021. Tun Ramli is the fourth individual appointed as Penang Governor who is not originally from the state. He was elected as the state assemblyman for Kampung Gajah in 1978 and made it to the Perak state executive council before becoming Perak's eighth Mentri Besar. He served for over 17 years until 1999, making him one of the longest-serving Menteri Besar in the country. Later, he was elected as the Member of Parliament for Pasir Salak and went on to chair the Public Accounts Committee. From 2004 to 2008, he served as the Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat.- Bernama
