Three 'high-priority' patients have been rushed to hospital after a double decker bus carrying school students crashed into a river in a town near Southampton.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on Thursday morning after a bus carrying students from Barton Peveril Sixth Form College in Hampshire came off the road.
The Bluestar bus ended up in the River Itchen at Bishopstoke Road, Eastleigh at 10:07am. Three people have been taken to hospital and 14 others were treated at the scene.
A South Central Ambulance Service spokesman said two helicopters and five ambulances were deployed to the scene, where patients were still being assessed, while Bluestar said the driver and two passengers were injured.

A multi-vehicle crash has closed three lanes on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, sparking major peak hour traffic chaos. Emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after 7.30am on Wednesday following initial reports that occupants were trapped. A NSW Police spokesman has since told Daily Mail Australia no one was trapped. A heavy emergency service presence remains on scene. Two of the three southbound lanes of the bridge are closed. One of northbound lanes is also closed. Motorists are urged to allow extra travel time and exercise caution.

M60 shut near Stockport for second day after eight-vehicle crash

Part of the M60 is shut in both directions for a second day after an eight-vehicle crash, National Highways has said. The road remains closed after the pile up involving three lorries, two cars and a van at about 11:30 BST on Monday between junction 25 for the Bredbury Interchange and junction 1 for the Pyramid Roundabout in lorry had driven through the central reservation and hit several lamp posts, while another had shed its load of beer Highways said recovery work is now complete and all road users caught within the closures have been released. It added emergency resurfacing work is now taking place. National Highways said as well as the damage to the central reservation and the beer, there were also several ruptured fuel tanks from the collision, resulting in a large amount of diesel across the carriageway in both apologised for the inconvenience caused whilst clean up and repair works take place and thanked people for their North West Ambulance Service said three people had been taken to hospital for further treatment, while six others were assessed for minor injuries.
