David Beckham recovering from injury in hospital, Victoria Beckham shares
(NewsNation) — Former star soccer player David Beckham is recovering in the hospital from an apparent injury, his wife announced. Victoria Beckham, the former Spice Girls member, posted a photo of her husband on her Instagram story on Friday, with the caption, 'Get well soon daddy.' The photo shows David Beckham with his right arm in a blue sling while he lies in a hospital bed. A police officer was actually on the floor for an unrelated reason, and you had to calmly explain to him it was not a hostage situation but a simple vaccination. He could also be seen with an anode attached to his chest while wearing a hospital gown. Although Victoria did not share any details of how or why Sir David ended up in hospital, he did seem to be in high spirits, smiling towards the camera in her photo, which she accompanied with the message: 'Get well soon, daddy.' In a second snap from his hospital bed, the 50-year-old striker could be seen holding a friendship bracelet, again emblazoned with the message: 'Get well soon.' According to The Sun, David was in hospital for surgery to repair a wrist injury he acquired during a football match more than 20 years ago. Man in hospital after brutal public shooting
A man is in hospital after he was shot while sitting in a parked car in western Sydney last night. The shooting happened in Penrith, NSW Police say, just before 10pm. Emergency services were called to Hickeys Lane on reports of a shooting, where police officers found a man, believed to be in his 20s, with a gunshot wound. 'The man was treated by paramedics for a gunshot wound and was taken to hospital for further treatment,' the police said. 'His injuries are described as non-life threatening.' An investigation into the circumstances of the incident has commenced. A short time later, reports emerged of a burning vehicle in the nearby suburb of Claremont Meadows, which the police believe could be linked to the shooting. 'The fire was extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW personnel,' the police said. 'Officers from Nepean Police Area Command have established a crime scene, which will be forensically examined by specialist officers. 'While investigations into both incidents are in their infancy, one line of inquiry being examined is that both incidents are linked.'
