Interestingly, the film we are talking about was initially offered to Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan. However, both actors turned it down, and later, it made a flop actor a superstar. If you are wondering which movie we are talking about, it is none other than Dhoom.
Directed by Sanjay Gadhvi and produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner, Dhoom was released in 2004. After its release, the film received a positive response and became a hit. The film was made on a budget of Rs 70 lakh and did a business of Rs 47 crore worldwide. When Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan Refused Dhoom
When the movie went into production, the makers approached Salman Khan to play the antagonist. However, due to some undisclosed reasons, Salman turned down the film. Following this, the makers also approached Sanjay Dutt. However, Sanjay too refused the offer. This Flop Actor Was Cast in Dhoom
After the refusal from Sanjay and Salman, the movie was offered to John Abraham. The actor had made his debut in 2003 with Jism. However, he was not considered an established hero in Bollywood until Dhoom was released.
In 2004, when Dhoom hit the big screens, it became a huge breakthrough for John's career. This role became the turning point of his journey in Bollywood.
Apart from John, Dhoom also featured Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra, Esha Deol, and Rimi Sen in important roles. This film was one of the biggest blockbusters of 2004.

‘Thammudu' box office collections day 2: Nithiin starrer struggles; Collects Rs 3.05 cr
(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) 'Thammudu', starring Nithiin and Varsha Bollamma , is off to a subdued start at the box office. After earning Rs 1.90 crore on its opening day, the film witnessed a dip on Saturday, collecting around Rs 1.15 crore, as per early estimates by the Sacnilk website. That brings its total two-day collection to Rs 3.05 crore across India. Occupancy fails to pick up across key cities On Saturday, the film recorded an overall Telugu occupancy of just 14.46%. Morning shows started slow at 11.44%, and even by night, occupancy hovered around 16.68%. Major centres like Hyderabad saw slightly better turnout (15.25% overall), but cities like Bengaluru and Vijayawada remained weak. Chennai, interestingly, showed a relatively higher response with an overall 20.25% occupancy, thanks in part to interest in regional crossover actors like Sapthami Gowda. Still, the numbers weren't enough to make a real impact on Day 2 totals. Thammudu - Official Trailer Can Sunday offer some relief? With Sunday being the final push for weekend collections, all eyes are now on whether Thammudu can recover some ground before weekdays kick in. A good Sunday could take the film past Rs 5 crore, but that depends heavily on stronger word-of-mouth and improved turnout in Tier-2 towns. ETimes review for the film reads, "On the technical front, the film is visually appealing, with cinematographer KV Guhan capturing the tribal locales with flair. Ajaneesh Loknath's background score is atmospheric but rarely elevates the emotional beats. The action choreography is stylised, though several sequences stretch believability, further distancing the viewer from the story's emotional core. Thammudu had all the ingredients for a stirring emotional-action drama, but in trying too hard to be everything, it ends up being less than the sum of its parts. A film that had the potential to hit the bullseye sadly misses the mark." At the moment, 'Thammudu' appears to be facing an uphill battle at the box office. Despite a promising cast and familiar genre elements, the film hasn't quite clicked with the audience — at least not yet.

‘F1' box office collections day 9: Brad Pitt starrer picks up speed, crosses Rs 44.5 cr mark in India
(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) After a solid first week and a slightly muted second Friday, 'F1' found its rhythm again on Saturday. The film added an estimated Rs 5.75 crore on Day 9, bringing its total India net collection to Rs 44.5 crore across all languages, according to the Sacnilk website. Strong turnout in evening and night shows Saturday's growth came largely thanks to strong occupancy in the English 2D version. The film recorded an impressive overall occupancy of 57.42% across India. Morning shows were relatively modest at just under 30%, but afternoon screenings jumped to nearly 59%, followed by packed evening (69%) and night shows (71.88%). 03:50 Kareena Kapoor FANGIRLS Over Brad Pitt after watching 'F1' On track for a strong second weekend If Sunday continues this upward trend, the film could comfortably cross Rs 50 crore by early next week — a strong showing for a Hollywood sports drama in India. While weekday numbers held steady around Rs 3.5 crore, this Saturday bump proves that F1 still has fuel in the tank. And with no major competition in its genre, the film might just keep cruising through the coming week. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, 'F1' stars Brad Pitt in the lead. The movie has an impressive supporting cast that includes Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon, Damson Idris, and Tobias Menzies. Our verdict ETimes rated the film with 3.5 stars and our review reads, "Brad Pitt nails the role of a driver with laid-back arrogance, shining in every scene—whether he's strutting in with retro swagger or brushing off the media with monosyllabic replies. Don't miss the finale, where it's just him in the cockpit, the world around him fading into silence—what he calls 'flying.' Damson Idris is equally compelling as the new-age driver, skillfully balancing raw talent with the modern demands of social media and public presence. Kerry Condon as Kate McKenna stands her ground as the APXGP technical director who's trying to prove her mettle in the male bastion. Javier Bardem, as the flamboyant and desperate team owner, injects the narrative with charm."
