Naomi Schiff is a well-known figure among Formula 1 fans, presenting live coverage of the sport as part of the Sky Sports team.
This weekend, she and her colleagues will be broadcasting from the highly anticipated British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The event promises to be thrilling, with Lewis Hamilton making his Silverstone debut as a Ferrari driver and Lando Norris vying for the 2025 world championship title alongside teammate Oscar Piastri.
As a former racing driver herself, Naomi will be guiding viewers through the action-packed event. Born in Belgium to a Belgian father and Rwandan mother, the 31-year-old spent her formative years in South Africa, where she began her racing career as a teenager.

In September, Naomi shared photos from the first ceremony on Instagram, gushing: "Officially Mr. & Mrs. 'Oui' was never in doubt, it's always been you. So grateful for this beautiful moment and excited for forever. Can't wait to celebrate our big day in the days to come!"
Naomi recently posted beautiful photos of her wedding, where she wore a stunning white gown and long veil. She expressed her gratitude to everyone who celebrated with her, saying: "From unforgettable moments to cherished memories, our wedding day was everything we dreamed of and more. Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us, filling our day with laughter, love, and joy."
A few months later, Naomi shared the exciting news that she and her husband are expecting their first child. She initially announced the pregnancy with a video revealing her baby bump, saying: "Been keeping the tiniest little secret."
In May, she updated her fans, mentioning that she was "halfway" to meeting the new arrival.

F1 absences
As Naomi prepares for maternity leave, fans have noticed her occasional absence from Formula 1 races. With 24 races this year, Sky Sports F1 has a large team of presenters, and they take turns covering different events.
Naomi typically covers 12 races for Sky.
In a Q&A session on Instagram, Naomi explained that the scheduling process for the on-screen team is complex. She mentioned that the team is quite large, and races are split among presenters based on numbers and geographical locations.
Additionally, many presenters have personal commitments, making it challenging for the scheduling team to create their calendars for the year.

Lewis Hamilton bond
Naomi is known for her close friendship with seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who has defended her in the past when she faced criticism. In 2022, Naomi made waves when she ventured into presenting during the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team car launch, followed by co-hosting the Sky Sports F1 programme Any Driven Monday.
However, after being questioned on her suitability for the role, criticism came her way, reports The Sun.
The critic remarked: "Meet Naomi Schiff, Sky Sports latest Formula 1 commentator. Can you guess what her main qualification for the job is? Hint: It isn't Formula 1 experience."
Naomi took to social media to reply with three yawning emojis, displaying her dismissal of such negativity. Lewis swiftly rose to her defence, taking to Twitter (now renamed as X) to express his disdain for the remarks.
His statement was: "Naomi is an ex-professional racing driver & totally qualified to give her opinion as part of the Sky team. She's been a great asset since joining & we should welcome more representative broadcasting with open arms."
He added: "Still have a long way to go to change these attitudes in sport."

Celtic land fifth summer signing as Brendan Rodgers bolsters defence ahead of new season
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) CELTIC have completed the signing of Japanese defender Hayato Inamura. The 23-year-old joins from J-League club Albirex Niigata, signing off from the club in a 4-0 defeat to Machida Zelvia last Sunday. His compatriot and Kawasaki Frontale striker Shin Yamada may not be far behind him as SunSport exclusively revealed he was on Brendan Rodgers' radar. The attacker scored 19 goals in the 2024 season. Inamura played for high school side Maebashi Ikuei until he was 18, before going through the university system in Japan with Tokyo for four years. He then signed for relegation battlers Albirex and made 36 appearances, before making the switch to Glasgow after undergoing a successful medical earlier this week. Inamura joins a growing list of Japanese players who have represented the Hoops. Shunsuke Nakamura became a Hoops hero after moving from Reggina in 2005. He produced memorable displays, including that wonderful free kick against Man United in Europe. The likes of Kyogo, Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate have since followed in his footsteps making themselves firm favourites at Parkhead. Kyogo now looks as though he could be heading to Birmingham City after a nightmare season in Ligue 1 with French side Rennes. The diggers move in as Celtic Park pitch is dug up And recent signings Yuki Kobayashi and Tomoki Iwata were less of a success at Celtic. Celtic already have a number of defenders already on the books with Cameron Carter-Vickers, Auston Trusty, Liam Scales, Stephen Welsh all competing for places. Gustaf Lagerbielke who was on loan at Twente last season, has been linked with Braga, while Maik Nawrocki also faces an uncertain future. In scenes airing tonight, the two are set to butt heads again after arguing in a challenge. Sat down for a chat, Dejon says: "The challenge yesterday, a lot of things were said that I don't agree with at all." Billykiss replies it's "not fair" that Dejon was leading on her despite knowing his "heart is with Meg." Continue, she tries to explain how the situation is making Meg feel - but the villa boy shuts down the conversation. He says: "You're not someone that I would want to get to know in here, or on the outside, from the conversations that we've had." The pair continue to talk back-and-forth as Dejon remarks: "I shouldn't be begging to speak." As the bombshell tries to say her piece, Dejon stands up and tells her: "Alright Billykiss. I'm not going to keep begging to speak", as he walks off. But will this escalate into anything further down the line? In Thursday's episode, a Superman-inspired game saw Yasmin and Gio pick Dejon as the least dedicated male Islander. Watch awkward moment Love Island's Meg clashes with bombshell Billykiss over Dejon in brutal game Yasmin explained: 'I don't feel like you've dedicated yourself fully to the whole experience. "I hope you've only dedicated to getting to know one person…' Dejon remarked: 'I didn't know when all of a sudden it's become a problem wanting one woman.' Yasmin continued: 'There's other girls in here like Billykiss who picked you to go on a date because she was obviously attracted to you…' At this point, Meg interjected with: "Well he didn't say that. He didn't say he didn't want me." This continued with some choice words exchanged between Meg and Billykiss. The interaction ended with Billykiss telling Dejon: 'You don't want to hear the truth which is why you're feeling sour.' Love Island airs on ITV2 and ITVX.
