The hot girls are wearing animal prints—here's how to style them

Ah, animal prints. Beloved by fashion girls of all ages and basically a rite of passage at this point. You either wore it, or did your best to stay clear of it (and maybe failed). Last year, we saw leopard prints ruling the streets and Pinterest boards—worn as casual pants or flowy skirts, giving the print a softer, girl-next-door spin. But this year, the spread is expanding into a full-fledged wildlife fever dream. On top of leopard, black-and-white zebra stripes have joined the mix, and even snakeskin is back—showing up in fun colourways and exciting silhouettes. And the best part? The myriad range of styling possibilities—now that the print pool's grown, the way they're being worn has also loosened up. Pop princess Dua Lipa recently attended the Monaco F1 Grand Prix in a yellow leopard print top from Coperni, layered under a dark jacket—putting an edgy motorsport spin on the classic. Meanwhile, K-pop superstar Lisa caused a stir with her snakeskin mini dress in the teaser images for her collaboration with Maroon 5. The audacious print also made its way to the stage, with Tate McRae recently performing at Pinkpop in a blue snakeskin matching set. And the Katseye girls are no strangers to the trend either—with Lara showing up in a hot pink leopard mini dress, and Megan in a layered mini skirt mixing leopard with hot pink zebra stripes. Whether you're going casual, remixing prints, or slipping into something loud and directional, there's always room to experiment. And if full looks still feel a little daunting, accessories are the perfect entry point—consider a printed scarf or even a carryall for a quieter kind of roar. Below, see Vogue 's take on how to wear the punchy print this season—whether you're easing into the look or embracing full fever dream mode. @dualipa 1 / 20 Motorcore: Dua Lipa Courtesy of Coperni 2 / 20 Coperni top, $307 Available at Coperni. Singapore Idol winner Hady Mirza is now a property agent

Since winning the second season of local reality singing competition Singapore Idol in 2006, home-grown singer-songwriter Hady Mirza has juggled many side hustles. On June 27, the 45-year-old announced his latest venture on Instagram: He is now a licenced property agent. It took him two years and four tries before he finally passed his Real Estate Salesperson examination on April 17. The licence was issued on June 19. "It's a big achievement for me," Hady, who is with real estate company ERA Singapore, tells The Straits Times in an interview on July 7. "It marks another chapter in my life. I'm already 45, and I believe that I must always challenge myself, even though I had a lot of doubts about whether I could study again," he says, adding that he used all his SkillsFuture credits to finance part of his real estate courses and examination fees. And while his predecessor Taufik Batisah, winner of the inaugural Singapore Idol in 2004, made a similar move to real estate back in 2019 and is now a top agent at PropNex Singapore, Hady says he was inspired by his other friends who are long-time property agents. Still, when Hady announced his entry into real estate on Instagram, one of the most-liked comments was a congratulatory note from Taufik, who suggested they "co-broke", a term used when property agents work together to facilitate a transaction. "We are friends, and we always support each other," says Hady, who performed with Taufik and Sezairi, winner of Singapore Idol 3 in 2009, at Malay-language television awards show Pesta Perdana in May. The trio were also judges on Suria's reality singing competition Kaki Nyanyi (2024 to 2025). Hady has not sold any homes yet, but has been receiving calls from potential clients and has done several home viewings with the senior agents mentoring him. He admits that being a public figure can be an advantage in his new line of work, but insists that being a celebrity can get him only so far when it comes to sealing deals. "It's still early days, and there are still a lot of things that my mentors need to show and teach me." Being an agent also means his personal phone number is public, but he has no issues receiving calls and texts from strangers. "Because of my other businesses, it has been public knowledge for about 10 years," says the entrepreneur, whose previous ventures include food and beverage, as well as motor vehicle sales. In recent months, he has also taken on several other roles, including an ambassadorship for cancer support charity Ain Society, and started his own talent management company, NHM Entertainment. He has not turned his back on his music career, though. In May, he released his first new single in three years, Jika Masih Ada (If It's Still There), a duet with popular Malaysian actress-singer Erra Fazira. It is also the theme song for Nikmat Hanya Sesaat (Just A Moment Of Pleasure), a Malay-language drama series on Malaysian broadcaster TV3 that premiered in May. While he also won region-wide reality singing show Asian Idol in 2007, it was only in 2019 that Hady made a major mark in Malaysia after being crowned co-winner of Season 6 of Malaysian television singing show Gegar Vaganza, sharing the prize with Malaysian singer Naqiu. It was his artiste management agency in Malaysia that offered him Jika Masih Ada in late 2024. When he recorded his vocal parts, he had no idea who his duet partner would be. "I was shocked when I found out that they later got Erra to record the female vocals, someone who is so well-known and has been in the entertainment industry much longer than me," says Hady, who has been married to Malaysian homemaker Nurjannah Nur Wahid, 33, for the past 11 years. The couple have no children but are hoping to start a family. Hady, who staged a solo gig at The Theatre at Mediacorp in 2024, has several performances lined up in coming months, including an Ain Society concert at the same venue on Aug 23 that features regional acts like Indonesian veteran Hetty Koes Endang. He will also perform at the 2025 edition of the annual Gardens by the Bay and Mediacorp National Day Concert at The Meadow on Aug 3. He composed and will sing the show's theme song, Ties That Bloom. Hady has also set the next challenge for himself: to get a diploma in music and teach singing. Despite having decades of experience as a professional performer, he is also working on improving his vocal abilities and has been taking lessons at local music school Academy Of Rock. "I'm always thinking: What other things can I do to better myself? In Singapore, there are always avenues for you to improve yourself. It's such a waste if you don't make use of the opportunities that are out there."

Taufik Batisah's first solo concert will also be his last

Twenty-one years after he became the country's inaugural Singapore Idol champ, local singer Taufik Batisah is finally staging his first solo concert. But the show - titled Taufik Batisah: One Last Dance and set to take place at The Star Theatre on Oct 25 - will also be his last, as he plans for it to be a one-and-done affair. "I strive to achieve clarity in my work and life. You have to be clear with your intentions, and you have to just work towards the intention," he tells The Straits Times in an interview at a press event to announce the gig. The event was held at the Prinsep Street outlet of Chix Hot Chicken, the restaurant brand he co-owns. The 43-year-old multi-hyphenate is a property agent, an actor and the owner of interior design company Ivory Cove. He also produces social media content with his wife and manager Sheena Akbal, 40. "If there are invites to shows here and there, if they still want me, I'll probably consider them. But my main focus is going to be real estate, my ID (interior design) team and Chix Hot Chicken." Taufik says he first had the idea to do a solo concert in 2018 but was held back by his busy schedule, as well as the challenge of organising a show that would meet his standards. Singer Taufik Batisah says that he wants to focus on his real estate career and various businesses. PHOTO: BERITA HARIAN It was Sheena, whom he married in 2015, who constantly encouraged him to get it done. "She told me, you have to commit to it. Do it for the fans because they've been asking for the longest time." Taufik admits it is "scary" to headline The Star Theatre, which has a capacity of 5,000 - especially as he will be the first Singaporean solo Malay act to take the stage on his own. "We have to be very realistic (about filling up the venue), but we're hoping for the best. We plan to give the fans the best experience." The closest he got to doing something similar was a solo showcase for 1,600 fans at Kallang Theatre back in 2005, less than a year after his Singapore Idol win. Plans for the upcoming show - which is slated to be at least 90 minutes long - started coming together earlier in 2025 after he had discussions with fellow home-grown singer Sufi Rashid, who runs SAH Entertainment. The company has in recent years organised shows by acts from Malaysian pop queen Siti Nurhaliza to American R&B singer Ne-Yo. Backed by a full orchestra, Taufik's set list will comprise songs dating back to his early music career. These will include the Singapore Idol finale number I Dream (2005), the cover songs he sang as a contestant on the 2004 reality singing competition, as well Malay radio hits such as Usah Lepaskan (Don't Let It Go), a ballad from his 2006 sophomore album All Because Of You. He will also sing tracks off his last album Fique (2014), which included hit song #AwakKatMane (Where Are You). "There will be moments where I hope (the fans) will feel as emotional as I will be when I'm on stage. I want to take them on a journey of what they have given me in the past 20 years because, ultimately, this is a concert for the supporters." Among other items on his bucket list? Starting a podcast with his wife that discusses healthy relationships, as well as venturing into new businesses. Taufik is also game to do a joint concert with the two Singapore Idol winners who succeeded him: Hady Mirza, who won the second season in 2006, and Sezairi, who won the third and final season in 2009. On Hady pivoting to becoming a realtor, having announced the news on Instagram on June 27, Taufik says: "I'm happy to see that he's progressing in the direction that I think he should be going. "It's important for us to be happy for other people, for us to not feel threatened. If you feel threatened, then you're not doing enough in whatever it is you're doing, be it music, entertainment or real estate. We should feel inspired to do better." Book it/Taufik Batisah: One Last Dance Where: The Star Theatre, 04-01 The Star Performing Arts Centre, 1 Vista Exchange Green When: Oct 25, 8pm Admission: Tickets via Sistic (go to or call 6348-5555), prices to be announced. Pre-sale for SAH Entertainment members start on July 9, from 10am to 1.59pm. General sales start from July 9, 2pm.
