Komal Kumar takes on dual shades in Sangeetha Bar and Restaurant
Actor Komal Kumar is all set to appear before audiences in a brand-new avatar in Sangeetha Bar and Restaurant, a film that blends comedy, fantasy, and spiritual themes. Going by the recently released poster featuring the actor in a quirky Superman-inspired look, it is clear that the film will have an unconventional narrative. Directed by Sandesh Shetty Ajri, known for Kathale Kone, Inaamdaar, and Gumti, the film is produced by Vikas S Shetty under the Jyothi Productions banner. Sandesh has also written the story and screenplay. 'This is a story that runs across two timelines. Komal plays a modern-day Superman figure, but there's a deeper spiritual connection as well. He also portrays a failed filmmaker, and we explore his dual journey, comic in the first half, and subtly spiritual in the second. He even appears as an artist, like a painter,' Sandesh explains.

Joseph Kosinski Teases Brad Pitt's F1 And Tom Cruise's Days Of Thunder Crossover
Last Updated: The director also mentioned that whether a sequel happens or not depends on the audience. Brad Pitt's F1: The Movie has made a powerful impact at the box office. Released theatrically on June 27, the sports drama directed by Joseph Kosinski has already grossed $153 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo. Riding on its early success, Apple and Warner Bros. are reportedly in discussions for a potential sequel. Adding to the buzz, the director has also hinted at an exciting crossover in the works. F1 ends on an open note, leaving space for more stories, either telling the backstory of the characters or taking forward from where the new movie left off. In an interview with GQ, Joseph mentioned that whether a sequel happens or not depends on the audience. However, he already has a big idea for the sequel: a crossover between F1's Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) and Days of Thunder's Cole Trickle (Tom Cruise). Sharing how he plans on making the sequel, the director said, 'Well, right now, it'd be Cole Trickle, who was (Cruise's) Days of Thunder character, we find out that he and (Brad Pitt's) Sonny Hayes have a past. They were rivals at some point, maybe crossed paths… I heard about this epic go-kart battle on Interview With the Vampire that Brad and Tom had, and who wouldn't pay to see those two go head-to-head on the track?" Joseph has previously worked with Tom Cruise on the action thriller Top Gun: Maverick, which became a blockbuster hit in 2022, and recently directed Brad in F1. So, a crossover might seem like a possibility, especially since both actors have also worked together. Meanwhile, a sequel to Days of Thunder is reportedly in early talks, with Tom admitting that conversations are happening. Whether the movie will connect to F1 or not remains unknown. But if that happens, moviegoers can expect an epic crossover. As for the sequel to F1, Joseph Kosinski shared that it can only happen if the audience wants it. He told the aforementioned outlet, 'I think we leave it on a really open-ended moment for Sonny, for Kate, and for Joshua. So yeah, I think there's certainly more to tell of the APXGP team, and where Sonny Hayes goes from here. But that's not my decision." Besides Brad Pitt, F1 The Movie also features Javier Bardem, Damson Idris, Tobias Menzeles and Kerry Condon in key supporting roles. The film revolves around Sonny Hayes (Pitt), a New York City-based Formula One driver who left racing following a horrible crash. Decades later, he returns to the high-stakes world of racing with only one wish to prove himself again. First Published: July 02, 2025, 13:26 IST
