Mohammad Nabi's 18-Year-Old Son Hits Him For A First-Ball Six In T20 Match
Last Updated: Nabi's 18-year-old son, Hassan Eisakhil, is an opening batter, and he scored 52 runs from 36 balls for Amo Sharks in the Shpageeza Cricket League match on Tuesday. Mohammad Nabi is arguably the greatest cricketer from Afghanistan. In the last 18 years, the 40-year-old cricketer has played in more than 440 T20 matches for more than 40 teams around the globe. Nabi, who last played a T20I match for Afghanistan in December 2024 against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club, is plying his trade in the Shpageeza Cricket League these days for Mis Ainak Knights, and on Tuesday (July 22), he is in action against Amo Sharks. During the first half of the match taking place in Kabul, the 40-year-old spin-bowling all-rounder bowled one over for the Rahmanullah Gurbaz-led side and conceded 12 runs. He was introduced to the attack in the ninth over, but on the first ball he got smacked for a big six by his 18-year-old son, Hassan Eisakhil. The clip of him smacking Nabi for a six was shared on X by fans, and it is now going viral on the internet. Here's a look: Eisakhil, unlike his father, is a specialist batter and has played a total of 25 T20 matches so far, in which, with the help of four half-centuries, he has amassed a total of 599 runs. The right-handed batter scored 52 runs from 36 balls for Amo Sharks on Tuesday as well and helped them post a total of 162 runs on the board in 19.4 overs. In the first two matches of the Shpageeza Cricket League, he scored 6 and 35 runs. Eisakhil has played for the Afghanistan team in the 2024 U-19 World Cup. Nabi to play for Afghanistan with Eisakhil Nabi was set to retire from ODIs after Champions Trophy 2025 but he decided to take a U-turn from his retirement plan. Nabi, while speaking to ICC in February expressed his desire to play for Afghanistan at the highest level with his son Hassan Eisakhil. 'These might not be my last ODIs (the Champions Trophy), and I will probably play less ODIs and give chances to the youngsters to build experience. I've discussed with the senior players, and in the high-level games, maybe or maybe not, we'll see. It will depend on my fitness," Nabi was quoted as saying by ICC. 'It's my dream (to play together for the country), and hopefully we can do it. He (Eisakhil) is doing very well. He is a hard worker, and I'm also pushing him to work," he said. view comments First Published: July 22, 2025, 17:22 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Discipline, Diet, And Dedication: Here's How Sarfaraz Khan Lost 17 Kgs
Cricketer Sarfaraz Khan left his fans shocked when he shared his dramatic weight loss transformation picture on his Instagram Stories. After being sidelined from India's tour of England, cricketer Sarfaraz Khan turned his setback into serious self-work, dropping 17 kilos in just a few months. The 27-year-old, known for his explosive domestic form, has long faced criticism for his fitness despite his cricketing potential. Now, his dramatic weight loss transformation is capturing attention far beyond the pitch. Sarfaraz may have missed a place in the squad for the England Tests, but he's channelled that disappointment into redefining his relationship with health and fitness. His new, leaner look, shared via Instagram stories, has not only stunned fans but has also inspired a wave of appreciation for his discipline. Take a look at Sarfaraz Khan's 17 Kgs weight loss picture here. From Cheat Days to Clean Eating Behind the scenes of this transformation is a carefully designed nutritional overhaul. In an interview earlier this year, Sarfaraz's father and coach, Naushad Khan, revealed the family's collective commitment to a cleaner diet. 'We stopped having roti, rice, sugar, flour, and anything bakery-related," Naushad shared in an earlier conversation with Hindustan Times. 'Our meals now include grilled fish, chicken, boiled eggs, fresh salads, broccoli, cucumber, and avocados. We've even switched to green tea and green coffee. It's been 1.5 months of this strict routine." The shift wasn't temporary. It reflects a long-term vision to improve energy levels, muscle recovery, and overall well-being, all of which are crucial for elite performance. Though his Test debut was delayed, Sarfaraz's commitment off the field could make all the difference moving forward. In modern cricket, fitness is no longer optional; it's as essential as form. And Sarfaraz seems to be ticking both boxes now. About Sarfaraz Khan Born in Mumbai in 1997, Sarfaraz first gained national attention during the U-19 World Cup and went on to become one of the most consistent run-scorers in the Ranji Trophy. A prolific talent in domestic cricket, he represents Mumbai and has made a mark with consistent performances over the years. In the Indian Premier League (IPL), he has played for franchises including Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, and Royal Challengers Bangalore. view comments First Published: July 21, 2025, 18:12 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
