Discipline, Diet, And Dedication: Here's How Sarfaraz Khan Lost 17 Kgs

News184 days ago
Cricketer Sarfaraz Khan left his fans shocked when he shared his dramatic weight loss transformation picture on his Instagram Stories.
After being sidelined from India's tour of England, cricketer Sarfaraz Khan turned his setback into serious self-work, dropping 17 kilos in just a few months. The 27-year-old, known for his explosive domestic form, has long faced criticism for his fitness despite his cricketing potential. Now, his dramatic weight loss transformation is capturing attention far beyond the pitch.
Sarfaraz may have missed a place in the squad for the England Tests, but he's channelled that disappointment into redefining his relationship with health and fitness. His new, leaner look, shared via Instagram stories, has not only stunned fans but has also inspired a wave of appreciation for his discipline.
Take a look at Sarfaraz Khan's 17 Kgs weight loss picture here.
From Cheat Days to Clean Eating
Behind the scenes of this transformation is a carefully designed nutritional overhaul. In an interview earlier this year, Sarfaraz's father and coach, Naushad Khan, revealed the family's collective commitment to a cleaner diet.
'We stopped having roti, rice, sugar, flour, and anything bakery-related," Naushad shared in an earlier conversation with Hindustan Times. 'Our meals now include grilled fish, chicken, boiled eggs, fresh salads, broccoli, cucumber, and avocados. We've even switched to green tea and green coffee. It's been 1.5 months of this strict routine."
The shift wasn't temporary. It reflects a long-term vision to improve energy levels, muscle recovery, and overall well-being, all of which are crucial for elite performance.
Though his Test debut was delayed, Sarfaraz's commitment off the field could make all the difference moving forward. In modern cricket, fitness is no longer optional; it's as essential as form. And Sarfaraz seems to be ticking both boxes now.
About Sarfaraz Khan
Born in Mumbai in 1997, Sarfaraz first gained national attention during the U-19 World Cup and went on to become one of the most consistent run-scorers in the Ranji Trophy. A prolific talent in domestic cricket, he represents Mumbai and has made a mark with consistent performances over the years. In the Indian Premier League (IPL), he has played for franchises including Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Morkel defends under-fire Indian bowlers, says playing five Tests right after IPL a challenge: 'It's a real test'

India bowling coach Morne Morkel also felt the Jasprit Bumrah-led attack performed much better on Day 3 of the fourth Test against England in Manchester, and came to the defence of debutant Anshul Kamboj, who has been criticised for his underwhelming pace. read more India bowling coach Morke Morkel defended the performance of the Jasprit Bumrah-led bowling unit after the third day's play in the fourth Test against England at Old Trafford. AP India bowling coach Morne Morkel admitted his bowlers are struggling to make an impact in the crucial fourth Test against England in Manchester, but felt playing a five-match Test series in England right after two months of the Indian Premier League was always going to be a challenge. Morkel reacted to India's dismal bowling performance on Day 3 at Old Trafford, which allowed England to end the day on a commanding 544/7. Joe Root headlined their dominant batting performance with a majestic 150 while four others, including captain Ben Stokes (77 not out), scored fifties. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD For India, spin-bowling all-rounders Washington Sundar (2/57) and Ravindra Jadeja (2/117) lead the way with a couple of wickets each while the pace trio of Jasprit Bumrah (1/95), Mohammed Siraj (1/113) and debutant Anshul Kamboj (1/89) collected a wicket each. 'It's a real test. We play three Test match series a lot and this is now our first time in a while we've done this with five. It shouldn't be excused, but in terms of conditioning, getting our guys conditioned and getting them ready for five Test series coming straight up after IPL, is sometimes an issue,' Morkel told reporters during the press conference after stumps. 'Much better today with the ball' The former South African pacer, however, added that the Indians bowled a lot better on the 'Moving Day' than they did on Thursday, when England had raced to 225/2 at stumps after following a 166-run opening stand between Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett. 'Much better today with the ball. I thought yesterday was a tough day for us in the office. We missed our lines, putting us slightly on the back foot, but I thought the way the boys responded this morning, especially Siraj and Bumrah with the ball, was good to see. 'And yeah, from there, you know, we tried our best with trying to create opportunities on a wicket played better than the first couple of days. Discipline and holding those lines were key. And that was something I think we missed on day one,' he added. Morkel also confirmed Bumrah and Siraj did suffer injury scares on Day 3, but were ultimately fine. 'Yeah, unfortunately, when we took the second new ball, Booms rolled his ankles going down the stairs. And then Siraj also, I think, rolled his foot in one of the footholds. But they seemed to be okay,' he continued. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Morkel extends support to debutant Kamboj As for Kamboj, who replaced the injured Akash Deep in the XI, clocking underwhelming speeds under 125kmph at Old Trafford on international debut, Morkel felt it was a learning curve for the 24-year-old Haryana pacer. 'Unfortunately, there's no place to hide. And, you know, we support him as best as we can, through conversations. But it's also for him, it's good learning. 'And I think everybody in the dressing room is constantly telling him to keep going and supporting him. That's part of international cricket, it's good to get a taste for it and know, moving forward, what he needs to do to play at this level. 'So, you know, it's through good conversations and just keep on supporting him. He can definitely bowl quicker,' Morkel added.

Ishaan Khatter Opens Up About Reunion With Janhvi Kapoor: 'We Could Lean Onto Each Other...'

Ishaan Khatter opens up about filming Dhadak with Janhvi Kapoor as they reunite for Neeraj Ghaywan's Homebound, which premiered at Cannes 2025. Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor, who made their Bollywood debut together in Dhadak back in 2018, have reunited after seven years for their upcoming film Homebound. The Neeraj Ghaywan directorial had its world premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival 2025 in May and is also set to be screened at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Dhadak, directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, was a Hindi adaptation of Nagraj Manjule's acclaimed Marathi film Sairat. The film explored issues of casteism and honour killing and went on to perform well at the box office. The much-anticipated spiritual sequel Dhadak 2, starring Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi, is slated for release on August 1. Now, ahead of Homebound, Ishaan opened up about his experience of working with Janhvi on Dhadak. In an interview with Zoom, the actor reflected on one of the film's most emotional scenes and shared, 'On Dhadak's set, Janhvi and I could lean onto each other." He further explained, 'My character is going through a lot of conflict. He is trying to be a man for her but he is not able to. He is dealing with his own issues. He has been uprooted from his family. You can see the cracks in him, his vulnerability. He is trying to be supportive, but inevitably he's dealing with his own demons." In Homebound, Ishaan stars alongside Janhvi Kapoor and Vishal Jethwa. The story follows two childhood friends—Shoaib Ali (played by Ishaan) and Chandan Kumar (played by Vishal)—who hail from a North Indian village and are determined to break free from the burden of their marginalised identities. However, a series of events leads to internal and external conflicts that test their bond. While the film has already garnered international attention at Cannes, its theatrical release date is still under wraps. Homebound marks a significant reunion for Ishaan and Janhvi, and fans are excited to see the duo together on screen once again.
