YRF will build Aneet Padda as a theatrical heroine, her next release Nyaya, directed by Nitya Mehra, is a streaming project that shot before Aneet signed Saiyaara!
This morning, internet went abuzz with reports saying that Gen Z sensation of the year, Saiyaara's Aneet Padda's next is a streaming project directed by Nitya Mehra and her husband Karan Kapadia. When checked, industry sources have revealed that this project in question, titled Nyaya, was shot before Aneet signed Saiyaara and that her she would be built as a theatrical heroine post Saiyaara's historic success.
'Aneet is a big screen heroine for YRF. Nyaya was shot before she signed Saiyaara and it has no bearing on her career trajectory as a theatrical heroine going forward. A girl who is delivering probably a 400 crore hit in theatres, is a true Gen Z star at the age of just 22, will be preserved for theatricals. There are huge plans to make her the face of a generation and that can be achieved only by consolidating her theatrical equity,' informed a trade source.

Box Office: Dhadak 2 opens at Rs 3.75 crore; Siddhant Chaturvedi & Triptii Dimri starrer aims at Saturday growth

Dhadak 2, directed by Shazia Iqbal and starring Siddhant Chaturvedi, Triptii Dimri and others has taken a decent start of Rs 3.5 - 4 crore net at the Indian box office. These are pretty reasonable numbers for a film with not much face value. Yes, if we compare it to Dhadak, the opening is much lower than it should have been. And let's not forget the day 1 discount offer, either. However, Dhadak 2 is not a legacy sequel but is infact a spiritual sequel to Dhadak, with no recurring cast. The Day Wise India Net Collections Of Dhadak 2 Are As Under Dhadak 2 Targets A Rs 16 Crore Net Opening Weekend In India Being a film that targets the multiplexes, Dhadak 2 is bound to grow over the weekend. The percentage of growth will determine the film's acceptance. Early trends suggest a Rs 14.50 crore net weekend. If the film holds up over the weekdays, it has a fair chance to end up with around Rs 30 crore net in its full run. If the target audience does not turn up to the theatres and instead prefers waiting for the movie to drop on digital, it won't be surprising if the gritty drama, ends up with a lifetime net of around Rs 25 crore net. Dhadak 2's Actual Competition Is Holdover Releases Saiyaara And Mahavatar Narsimha While Son Of Sardaar 2 is Dhadak 2's release rival, the actual competition that the movie is facing is from Saiyaara and Mahavatar Narsimha. Both the holdover releases are still getting audiences. It won't be surprising if the latter two films end up as the top two picks of this weekend. Clearly, the audiences are visiting theatres every weekend, for the film they think they will like. Coolie and War 2 are expected to keep this momentum going, and then there of course is Param Sundari towards the end of August. Dhadak 2 In Theatres Dhadak 2 plays in theatres now. Tickets for the movie can be booked from online ticketing applications or from the box office. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.

Box Office: Son of Sardaar 2 takes a poor start in India; Ajay Devgn starrer collects Rs 6.25 crore on day 1

Son Of Sardaar 2, directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and starring Ajay Devgn, Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan and others has taken a poor start at the Indian box office on day 1. With Rs 6 - 6.50 crore on the opening Friday, this is unquestionably one of Ajay Devgn 's lowest opening films. What makes it worse is the fact that it is a sequel to a hit film and in an ideal scenario, it should have been opening to atleast double of the first installment. For Son Of Sardaar 2 to open under the original Son Of Sardaar film that released 13 years ago in pre-Diwali and alongside Jab Tak Hai Jaan, despite the help of discount offers is catastrophic. The Day Wise India Net Collections Of Son Of Sardaar 2 Are As Under Son Of Sardaar 2 Looks At A Low Opening Weekend Of Rs 20 Crore Net Son Of Sardaar 2 's reception is on the mixed to negative side. Since it is a kind of film that takes stronger initials, the growth over the weekend won't be like the films driven largely by multiplexes. A weekend of around Rs 20 crore net is on the cards, and then it shall all be about how it sustains in the days to come. An open second week is a good news. But to capitalise on that, the film needs acceptance and that's what looks unlikely. The family audience will have to turn up in hordes to change the entire narrative around the film. Son Of Sardaar 2 Will Not Be The Top Pick For Hindi Audiences In Its Opening Weekend While Son Of Sardaar 2 has released alongside Dhadak 2, the actual threat that the movie is facing is from holdover titles like Saiyaara and Mahavatar Narsimha. It's likely that Saiyaara in its third weekend, will match the opening weekend collections of Son Of Sardaar 2. Mahavatar Narsimha will actually end up as the top pick among Hindi audiences this weekend.

Box Office: Saiyaara stays steady despite competition from Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2; Collects 5 crore on 3rd Friday

Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri and starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda among others was India's number one film for the last two weeks. It collected a mind-numbing Rs 174 crore in week 1 and in its second week, it has added Rs 106 crore net. The second Friday hold suggested that the movie would break into the Rs 300 crore club by the end of its second week. But, Mahavatar Narsimha came out of syllabus, performing much better than anyone expected it to. Saiyaara Gets Affected By New Competition; Still Continues To Get Good Audience Due to Mahavatar Narsimha, Saiyaara lost some speed, but it still managed to remain the number one film of the week. The romantic film is now expected to end its run in the Rs 350 crore vicinity, while it looked to be doing Rs 400 crore India net at one point. Saiyaara Adds Rs 5.15 Crore On 3rd Friday At The India Box Office The Mohit Suri film observed a visible drop from 2nd Thursday on 3rd Friday, due to significantly less showcasing courtesy new releases - Son Of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2. However, it remained rock-steady in terms of occupancies, to add another Rs 5 - 5.25 crore to its tally. The Rs 300 crore mark shall be breached by the end of 3rd weekend and that's already much higher than anyone expected the movie to do. The pre-release predictions for the movie were in the Rs 4 to 5 crore vicinity, and the movie on its 15th day is collecting more than what it was expected to do on its opening day. The Day Wise India Net Collections Of Saiyaara Are As Under Particulars India Net Collections Week 1 Rs 173.75 crore Week 2 Rs 106.25 crore 3rd Friday Rs 5.15 crore Total Rs 285.15 crore in 15 days Saiyaara Is Also A Blockbuster Internationally Saiyaara is a massive blockbuster internationally. A USD 15 million plus finish is guaranteed and a USD 20 million final can't be discounted. The film will end its run, slightly short of the Rs 600 crore worldwide mark, a number it looked to breach quite comfortably, seeing the first week trend. Regardless, the super-blockbuster has led to the emergence of two bankable stars - Ahaan and Aneet. Saiyaara Plays In Theatres Worldwide Saiyaara plays in theatres worldwide.
