Google adds separate work and personal accounts to Chrome on iOS
Chrome now supports easy account switching and data separation on iOS, similar to its approach on Android and Chrome for desktop . The browser keeps data such as tabs, history and passwords confined to the corresponding account, protecting employer information from exposure to personal activities.
When users first sign or select their managed account, they will be taken through an onboarding process that explains the separation between managed accounts and personal, as well as insights into how their company is handling their data. Anytime a user switches to the managed account, they are notified that they are entering a managed experience.
Google has also added safeguards for companies using Chrome Enterprise. IT teams can now apply URL filtering to work accounts in Chrome on iOS, and security teams can stream audit logs from iOS and Android directly into the Admin console or any SIEM, both of which are features already available on desktop.
These features are available for managed devices through Chrome Enterprise today.

After months of questions about whether major tech firms were overshooting AI spending, Google, Microsoft and Meta are taking a victory lap after outperforming investors' lofty expectations. Google kicked off a series of strong tech earnings last week, beating investor expectations with $96 billion in revenue and $28 billion in net income last quarter. The search giant, which initially planned to invest $75 billion in capital spending this year, also upped the ante with an additional $10 billion investment. This raised the bar for Microsoft and Meta coming into this week, said Dave Wagner, head of equity and portfolio manager at Aptus Capital Advisors. Microsoft did not disappoint, reporting $76 billion in revenue and $27 billion in net income last quarter. The company's cloud computing platform Azure surpassed $75 billion in revenue for the fiscal year, up 39 percent year-over-year in the last quarter. It also announced plans to invest another $30 billion in capital spending next quarter, after spending about $88 billion over the past year. The company's stock jumped Thursday on the strong earnings report, briefly boosting the company's market valuation above $4 trillion. It is only the second company in the world to cross the historic threshold, following Nvidia's lead last month.

Google mocks Apple's delayed AI features in new 'coming soon' ad
Google previewed its Pixel 10 launch in an advertisement mocking Apple's Siri AI delays. The ad's narrator said that phone-buyers who wait "a full year" for a feature that's "coming soon" should change phones. Apple announced its Siri overhaul with Apple Intelligence at WWDC 2024. In March, it officially delayed the launch.
