BJP asks CM to apologise for linking COVID vaccines with heart attacks as expert panel rejects claim

Hans India11 hours ago
BJP on Sunday demanded an apology from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for attributing a spate of cardiac arrests in Karnataka—particularly in Hassan district—to COVID-19 vaccination, after an expert panel found no evidence to support the claim.
A panel constituted by the government concluded that there is no single cause behind the observed increase in sudden cardiac deaths. Rather, it described the phenomenon as multifactorial, with behavioural, genetic, and environmental risk factors contributing.
The BJP said the Chief Minister must issue an unconditional apology for making what it called a 'baseless allegation.'

BJP not doing enough to uplift tribals: RG

Panaji: Revolutionary Goans on Saturday blamed BJP-led govt for not doing enough to uplift the tribals in the state. The party said that chief minister Pramod Sawant, despite holding the post for six years, failed to clear the pending cases of forest rights claims (FRC). RG treasurer Ajay Kholkar said that govt gave several assurances, but denied political reservation for Goa's tribal community. 'The community has been fighting for political resolution. We have held protests to fight for our rights, and govt forced us to come on the streets, and yet BJP-led govt has not met our demand,' said Kholkar. RG said that contrary to Sawant's claims about working for the betterment of the tribals, BJP thwarted efforts to empower the ST community. 'It failed to resolve pending FRC cases. Govt has not built the Tribal Bhavan and failed to address land issues. The Tribal Research Centre exists only in name, as no research has been conducted there till date,' said Kholkar. The party has demanded that all the 10,000-odd pending FRC cases be cleared as soon as possible. It has also demanded that govt appoint a full-time company secretary for the Goa Scheduled Tribe Finance and Development Corporation Ltd.

Shelar invokes Pahalgam: ‘Here, Hindus attacked over language'

Mumbai: Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar said action is being taken against those indulging in physical violence over the three-language policy. In the Mira Road incident, where a local businessman was recently slapped by MNS workers and in the Sushil Kedia case, police were quick to file an FIR and arrest MNS workers accused of physical assault and violence. CM Fadnavis holds the home portfolio. Shelar, while criticising the Thackeray cousins, linked the Pahalgam terror attack to the assault on non-Marathis. He said, "In Pahalgam, people were shot based on their religion—Hindus were targeted. Here, innocent Hindus are being beaten up after being questioned about their language," he said. tnn

"Nitish Kumar's government is a failure, public should remove it in polls": UP Congress chief Ajay Rai

Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 6 (ANI): Slamming the JDU-BJP government in Bihar following the murder of a businessman, Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Rai on Sunday said that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has miserably failed in maintaining law and order in the state. 'There is 'Jungle Raaj' in Bihar just like Uttar Pradesh. His son was murdered a few years ago. This government under Nitish Kumar is a failure and Bihar's public should remove it in polls,' Ajay Rai told ANI. Amid a political row sparked over the murder of a businessman, Gopal Khemka, in Patna's Gandhi Maidan area, BJP leader Tarun Chugh said that the NDA government in Bihar, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is committed to maintaining law and order. His remarks follow the incident where businessman Gopal Khemka was shot dead near the main gate of his residence in Patna's Gandhi Maidan area. Chugh added that the culprits of the case will not be spared.'The NDA government, led by Nitish Kumar, is committed to maintaining law and order there. No guilty person will be spared...' the BJP leader told ANI. Chugh targeted the opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), saying, '... Even today, some people are running the jungle raj that was operated by Lalu Prasad Yadav. This will not be tolerated. Whenever Bihar is mentioned, the people of Bihar tremble, remembering the corruption and jungle raj run by Lalu Yadav.' The murder of the businessman has evoked sharp political reactions from the opposition parties and put the spotlight back on the law and order situation in the State, which is going to the polls in the next few months.
