Friends, family of shooting victim speak out after murder charge dropped against Arizona man
Christopher Jetton, 52, was killed on May 19 in a rural area of Arizona, about 75 miles southeast of Las Vegas.

Jetton worked in Las Vegas, and across the state installing high-speed internet at state parks, and his death has devastated those closest to him.
'All of a sudden he's released. Self-defense, no charges. And we're just astonished because he walked in and just shot him,' Danny Bax, Jettons' friend, said.
Bax worked with Jetton for the last seven years and developed a brotherhood as they crisscrossed Nevada from state park to state park installing Wi-Fi.
'Just days before he was killed, we just completed a 2,000-mile trip to nine of the Nevada State Parks to do upgrades. And one removal, so literally he just came back,' Bax said.
The Mohave County Sheriff's Office stated in a press release that on May 19, Richard Stephen Hansen, 57, allegedly shot and killed Jetton inside a trailer. Both men lived on the same property in White Hills, Arizona, but in separate trailers.
Bax said Jetton's wife was Hansen's ex-wife.
The men began arguing after an unknown person drove onto the property, according to Mohave County deputies. Jetton allegedly punched Hanson.
The argument reportedly escalated, Hansen went into his trailer with Jetton following him, grabbed a gun, and shot Jetton in the chest, according to MCSO.
Bax said the death has devastated Jetton's wife Christina.
'She's broken. She is so broken, and so am I. So, I've lost my wife, I've now lost my best friend, and part of my business,' Bax said.
In an email, the Mohave County Attorney's Office told 8 News Now it is no longer pursuing charges against Hansen because it doesn't have a 'reasonable likelihood of conviction' based on the evidence. The agency said it could re-open the case if prosecutors receive new or additional evidence.
Bax started a GoFundMe page to help Jetton's wife during this time of need.

Family members of the man who was killed during a boat crash with an allegedly intoxicated San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department deputy are calling for justice. "I don't take any enjoyment in his peril, but at the same time, he killed my brother, you know?" Peyton Stewart said. "We think he will get preferential treatment." He says that some witnesses told him Southworth was driving recklessly prior to the crash and that people were telling him to slow down. "You just hope it's not a conflict of interest where they have better intentions for one party versus the other," said Samantha Stewart, Weston's sister-in-law. "We'll never got Weston back." They remember him as a man with a personality and heart larger than life who spent most of his time on the water. As the investigation continues and they begin to wade through the difficulties of their loss, friends have started a GoFundMe to help Weston's sons. Former NBA player Morris arrested on fraud charge: reports
Former NBA player Marcus Morris has been arrested on a felony fraud charge after being accused of bouncing two checks worth a combined $265,000 at Las Vegas casinos, according to multiple reports Tuesday. Las Vegas television station KLAS and celebrity website TMZ reported that Morris got $150,000 from Wynn Hotel and Casino in June 2024 and also wrote checks for $115,000 to the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in May of last year. Morris, who has appeared as a guest analyst on ESPN, was arrested Sunday at an airport in Florida on a warrant from Nevada and will be extradited to Las Vegas, according to Clark County court records seen by KLAS. The 35-year-old American faces one charge of drawing and passing a check without sufficient funds with intent to defraud more than $1,200 and a theft charge for $100,000 or more. While he did not play last season, Morris spent 13 seasons in the NBA from 2011-2024 with Houston, Phoenix, Detroit, Boston, New York, the Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia and Cleveland. He had career averages of 12.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists a game. Markief Morris, the twin brother of Marcus who played for the Los Angeles Lakers last season, posted on X about the situation, saying: "The wording is crazy. Death of 9-year-old girl who drowned at Hersheypark ruled an accident
A Pennsylvania coroner has ruled a 9-year-old girl's drowning death at Hersheypark earlier in July an accident. "The cause of death was fresh water drowning and the manner of death was accidental," the Dauphin County coroner said in a statement, noting the child, identified by family as Sophia Subedi, did not have a medical event that led to her death. The incident occurred on Thursday, July 24 at the Boardwalk, a park attraction featuring water slides, a lazy river and a 387,000-gallon wave pool. Lifeguards responded to girl in distress There were 100 lifeguards at the Boardwalk at the time, the park said in a news release, including 10 lifeguards tasked with watching over the wave pool. Lifeguards, first responders and medics noticed the girl was in distress and began performing life-saving measures, the company's CEO, John Lawn, said in a written statement. A witness at the scene told WGAL one of the lifeguards attempted CPR on her while staff members tried to conceal the traumatic incident from parkgoers. The girl was taken to Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, where she was pronounced deceased. It is the first confirmed guest fatality in the park's 118-year history. Girl remembered as 'kind and loving' A member of the Bhutanese Community in Harrisburg, the organization said she will be remembered as "a bright, kind and loving young girl," according to a Facebook post published Monday, July 28.
