UFC 317 delivered notable performances and crowd-pleasing moments, but an unsanctioned post-fight faceoff drew criticism from UFC President Dana White. Following his first-round knockout win in the main event, Ilia Topuria shared a tense faceoff and brief physical exchange with lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett inside the Octagon at T-Mobile Arena.White, speaking at the post-fight press conference, said he had already left his cageside position when the confrontation took place and disapproved of the incident. Also read: UFC 317 complete results: winners, runners‑up and main card earnings breakdown "I don't know who the hell let him in there," White told reporters, including MMA Junkie. "That should've never happened. Let's start there. I was already back in my room, or that would've never happened."Topuria's win marked his second UFC title across two weight classes, elevating his profile in the promotion's lightweight division. However, White underscored that such celebratory moments should be managed with greater care."My thing with Topuria is his wife and kid are in the octagon. That's not the fight. It's just, yeah. It shouldn't happen. That's not really what we do. I don't really give a sh*t if it's fun to watch or not. That shouldn't have happened. Plus, he wins a second title in a higher division. It was a bad call by whoever let him in there."The unauthorized faceoff stood in contrast to a sanctioned one earlier in the evening. After Alexandre Pantoja defended his flyweight title against Kai Kara-France in the co-main event, No. 1 contender Joshua Van entered the cage for a planned faceoff.White clarified the distinction, noting that Van's appearance followed his announcement that the winner of the bout would earn a future title shot. Also read: Ilia Topuria defeats Charles Oliveira by first-round knockout at UFC 317 main event "(Van) is the No. 1 contender, and I just said the winner of that fight will get a title shot, so obviously the fans wanted it, too," White said. The juxtaposition of these two moments raised questions about the UFC's internal protocols during high-profile events, particularly when family members are present in the Octagon.Despite the confrontation, White did not confirm whether Paddy Pimblett (23-3 MMA, 7-0 UFC) would face Ilia Topuria (17-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC) next. The lightweight division remains competitive, with top contenders Arman Tsarukyan (22-3 MMA, 9-2 UFC) and Justin Gaethje (26-5 MMA, 9-5 UFC) actively campaigning for title shots.Tsarukyan served as a backup fighter for UFC 317's lightweight title bout, further complicating the path forward for potential challengers.

Vikrant Massey Wants 12th Fail To Win A National Award: 'With Utmost Humility…'

Last Updated: Vikrant Massey, who is gearing up for his next film, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, says that he hopes his film 12th Fail gets a National Award. Vikrant Massey has been delivering hit after hit in recent years. It's safe to say that the actor has established himself as one of the finest talents in the industry. However, this time, Massey is stepping into something completely new. He's both nervous and excited about being part of a 'commercial Bollywood film" with Santosh Singh's Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. The film also marks the debut of Shanaya Kapoor, who plays the lead opposite Massey. During the film's promotions, Massey spoke exclusively to News18 Showsha about how he hopes his previous project, 12th Fail, wins a National Award. There have been specualtions on 12th Fail winning a National Award, however, nothing concrete has been announced yet. Talking about the same, he said, 'I hope it does. And I'm sorry, without cost of sounding pompous, and with utmost humility. I hope it does. I hope the film wins an award. I hope Vidhu Vinod Chopra wins an award. I hope I win an award. I've always aspired for one. I've prayed for one when I was that young kid wanting to become an actor, I always wanted a National Award because that's the greatest achievement an actor in India can have, to be presented an award by the President of the country. And I hope it happens. So, fingers crossed." After Aankhon Ki Gustaakiyan, Massey is all set to start his soft preparation for his next film titled White, where he plays the titular role of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. 'There's one film that I am also soft prepping for. It is called White, wherein I play the honorable Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. [I am] very nervous. I'm spending a lot of time with him, with the script. I start shooting in August. [Spending time with him] is also very unnerving because he's something else. He's God-sent for me. This film, him everything, this opportunity is God-sent." Talking about working with debutant Shanaya Kapoor, Massey says she was like a 'breath of fresh air." He added, 'It was lovely working with Shanaya. She is a breath of fresh air. There's so much that I learned from her. But also the same time when I when I took up this opportunity, I was very nervous because I've never done something like this, which is which is an outright commercial Bollywood Hindi movie wherein I'm lip syncing for the first time. I was very nervous." Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor's Aankhon Ki Gustaakiyan releases on July 11. First Published:
