Expedite land acquisition for railway projects: Collector
He held a review meeting on Saturday at the Mini Conference Hall in the District Collectorate to assess the progress of various railway projects. The session focused on the construction of Railway Under Bridges (RUBs), Road Over Bridges (ROBs), and double-track railway lines across different revenue divisions in the district.
The Collector reviewed the land acquisition status from Sub-Collectors and RDOs for projects being implemented in the three revenue divisions.
He instructed the revenue officials to prioritise and fast-track land acquisition processes, ensuring there are no delays in the construction of the railway infrastructure.
He further directed all departments involved — including RDOs, officials from the Collector's office, and railway authorities — to work in close coordination. He emphasized the urgent need to resolve issues related to land acquisition, No Objection Certificates (NOCs), and Letters of Acceptance without delay.
Adoni Sub-Collector Maurya Bharadwaj informed the Collector that land acquisition for three Road Over Bridges (ROBs) in Adoni division is progressing well.
Kurnool RDO Sandeep Kumar provided details about the progress of land acquisition in 12 villages for the double-track railway line and underpass bridges in the Kurnool division.
Pattikonda RDO Bharat Naik reported that land acquisition for one of the double-track projects in his division has been completed, while the other project is currently at the award stage.
The review meeting was attended by District Revenue Officer (DRO) Venkatanarayana, Roads and Buildings SE Maheshwar Reddy, Executive Engineer Suresh Babu, Adoni Executive Engineer Venkateswarlu, Railway Assistant Divisional Engineer Durgarao, Adoni Municipal Commissioner Krishna, and other officials.
The Collector reiterated that swift action and efficient interdepartmental coordination are essential for the successful execution of key railway infrastructure projects in the district.

To strengthen rural connectivity and regional infrastructure, the Telangana government has approved a ₹6,478 crore road development programme under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), said Roads and Buildings (R&B) Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. This project marks a major step in the State's push for balanced development. As part of phase 1, works will be taken up across 17 packages covering 373 roads with a total length of 5,190 km. Tenders have already been called and construction is set to begin shortly. Minister Venkat Reddy thanked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for approving the plan promptly and reiterated that infrastructure is a core priority for the government. He also acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of senior officials from the R&B department and Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj, who supervised multiple field visits and helped prepare a detailed project report. 300 MW solar plant sealed in Khandwa by district administration
Indore: Khandwa district administration has sealed the 300-megawatt Masaya Solar Plant following an investigation that revealed its unauthorised establishment on tribal land and numerous other irregularities. The operation was carried out late Friday night by a special inquiry team constituted by Collector Rishav Gupta. The investigation was launched after a complaint was filed with the Indore Divisional Commissioner. The probe uncovered that the solar plant was set up on lands of tribal farmers in Dharampuri, Kanwani, Bhavsinghpura, Badgaon Mali, and Sivna, villages without adhering to due legal procedures. "The company commenced production after establishing the plant on tribal farmers' land without obtaining proper legal permissions. This is completely improper and illegal," said Gupta. The investigation further revealed that in some instances, land belonging to Scheduled Caste individuals was acquired under duress. Moreover, land belonging to many Scheduled Tribe farmers was transferred without adequate compensation. This constitutes a direct violation of the Madhya Pradesh Land Revenue Code. The Masaya Solar Energy Company was also found to have illegally occupied approximately 27.64 hectares (around 60 acres) of land, including that categorised as 'charanoi' (grazing land), 'nala' (drainage), roads, and small forest areas, taken over without any lease or proper acquisition. Collector Gupta has directed that the solar plant's operations would remain suspended until the lease or formal allocation process is duly completed. The machinery present at the plant has been sealed as part of the action. The investigation also brought to light allegations of collusion involving former and some administrative officials in facilitating these illegal activities. There are complaints accusing these officials of accepting bribes amounting to lakhs of rupees. "A high-level investigation will also be conducted against the officers under whose supervision these illegal encroachments occurred. Their assets will also be investigated," the Collector said. The plant's construction began in 2020, and electricity production reportedly commenced in 2022 without the necessary No Objection Certificates (NOCs). Around 35 tribal farmers from five villages in the region had their land acquired by the company, and their cases reached the revenue department. Notably, there were no protests against these acquisitions until now.

‘Main conspirators' of Rs 100 crore Bokaro land scam arrested in Jharkhand
Jharkhand's Crime Investigation Department Saturday arrested two prime accused in an alleged Rs 100 crore Bokaro forest and revenue land scam that involved selling acres of government land using forged documents. The suspects have been identified as Izhar Hussain and Akhtar Hussain, who have been accused of illegally selling 103 acres of forest and revenue land in Bokaro in 2012. They have been sent to judicial custody. According to senior officials, this is the first time that the 'main conspirators' were arrested. 'Yes, they are the ones who allegedly created all the fake documents on the basis of which the land was supposed to be transferred to them,' Jharkhand DGP Anurag Gupta said confirming the arrests. 'This is quite an old issue, but for the first time, the people behind it have been arrested.' According to the CID, the two suspects had made the land over to their names illegally in 2012, but the mutation was cancelled in 2016. In 2018, the Jharkhand High Court stayed the DC's cancellation order but directed the parties to approach a civil court for a title suit. Meanwhile, Izhar and Akhtar 'fraudulently' got the land removed from the restricted land list, then the allegedly created a fake auction document dated 1933 and transferred the land's power of attorney to Patna businessman, who eventually 'sold' it to a company in which his wife is the director. Investigations allegedly revealed that a fake 1933 auction document and No Objection Certificates (NOCs) were allegedly used in the transaction. According to officials, two companies were involved in the alleged deal and that the land changed hands days after the money was transferred to the seller's account. An FIR was lodged in the case in 2024. Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate, which is also probing the alleged scam, conducted searches at 16 locations across Jharkhand and Bihar in April. Among the places raided were some government offices as well as the premises of one of the two companies. The ED's 2022 probe had allegedly revealed that the forest land in Tetulia was wrongly recorded as barren land in 2013 and that fraudulent sales were executed based on that.
