Hugo Keenan, who had to pull out of the starting side to play the Queensland Reds due to illness, is named to start at full back with Blair Kinghorn on the left wing, and Mack Hansen on the left.
Scotland prop Pierre Schoeman, and England hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie joins Ireland's tight-head Finlay Bealham pack down in the front row.
In the back row, Josh Van Der Flier will play alongside England duo Henry Pollock and Ben Earl.
It is the half-back Northampton partnership of Alex Mitchell and Fin Smith.

On the bench, Dan Sheehan is the replacement hooker, with Tadhg Furlong hoping to make an impact from the bench.
Joe McCarthy will provide cover from the second row, on a 6/2 split among the replacements.
Elsewhere on the tour, Elliot Daly has been ruled out after his injury against the Reds, and will be replaced by Owen Farrell.

Broncos' Chelsea Lenarduzzi: ‘It's burnt me every year that we haven't won'
Women's rugby league is on the up, but for one of its proudest proponents, the downs are still impossible to avoid. Chelsea Lenarduzzi, the Brisbane and Queensland forward, has felt disappointment for her state and club in the past 12 months. However, the longtime Bronco knows there's nothing to do but get back on the horse. 'If you don't make a team, the sun rises the next day and you should still go to work,' she says ahead of Brisbane's season opener against the Tigers on Saturday. 'Our work is that sometimes you go to training, and sometimes you go to a recovery centre the next day after bad news.' Left out for the first match of the State of Origin series, the 29-year-old was recalled for the second, but unable to prevent the Blues from winning the shield. It followed the pain of last season, and ignominious exit of Brisbane – three-time premiers but without a title since 2020 – in the first week of the NRLW finals. 'I think we obviously had a lot of early success as a team but that feeling of wanting to win has never really gone away, no matter where we finish in the competition,' Lenarduzzi says. 'Winning is the number one goal every year, it's burnt me every year that we haven't won.' The minor premiers entered the semi-final against Cronulla – a club in just their second NRLW season – on a seven-match winning streak. But in the NRLW's old two-week finals series there were no second chances, and the highly fancied Broncos outfit led by captain Ali Brigginshaw lost 14-0 to the Sharks. Lenarduzzi says it continues to leave a bitter taste before the 2025 NRLW season, which began on Thursday night. 'We've got pretty high goals and high expectations for ourselves after the disappointing finish to last season,' she says. The off-season has only increased the pressure. The club has brought back fullback Tamika Upton – a player Lenarduzzi considers the best in the world – after three seasons in Newcastle. 'Now we have literally no excuse,' she says. 'The only thing that's going to stop us not performing well enough is us.' But in the dynamic world of women's rugby league, improvement is everywhere. The premiership-winning Roosters welcome back five-eighth Corban Baxter after she missed last season due to a knee injury. Beaten grand finalists Cronulla have recruited former New Zealand sevens player Tyla King and forward Caitlan Johnston-Green, although both will miss the start of the season. Even the expansion sides are expected to be competitive. Canterbury recorded a win in pre-season against Parramatta, and the other new team, New Zealand Warriors – taking the competition to 12 sides – were a foundation side but withdrew during the pandemic. Despite the pain of last year, Lenarduzzi says she tries not to let disappointment dwell. 'Whenever there's a setback or anything, while it's frustrating for me, because I am a bit experienced and I have gone through ups and downs in my career, I just keep doing the process.' After winning her place back in the Maroons side she helped turn the tide against a powerful Blues pack, and scored the winning try in the third match to prevent a whitewash. Last week she re-signed with the Broncos for two more years, which will make it 10 seasons as a Bronco. The prop forward is also a director for the Rugby League Players Association, and is already preparing to negotiate a new collective bargaining agreement which will come into force in 2028. She says the priorities in NRLW are to increase the squad sizes from 24 to at least 30 to cover injuries and provide a platform for future expansion, increasing resources for club staff to improve the professional environment, and pushing Origin back in the calendar so that it falls during or after the NRLW season. 'This year, the quality of the [State of Origin] games were really good, but imagine how good they'd be if everyone was in top condition,' she says. Lenarduzzi – who describes the NRLW as 'the best or one of the best' women's sporting competitions in the world – also wants a revolution in the rhetoric that surrounds women's rugby league. 'What's always been a frustration as a female athlete, is that there's this perception that you need to be nice, 'everyone's your friend', 'we're just here to grow the game.' In reality the elite players want to win the comp,' she says. The prop wants more debate from commentators and fans about the skills of the players, their agility, and their kicking games, and less about their personality and life off the field. And she wants respect for female athletes who prioritise athletic success. 'When fans of sport talk about like Michael Jordan, they talk about how ruthless and aggressive and competitive he is, which is great, right?' she says. 'But another personal idol of mine is Serena Williams, and she's copped so much shit throughout her career for being ruthless and aggressive and competitive. The difference is that she's not expected to be like that, because she's female.'

Footy star reveals his young son confronted rival who body-slammed him at halftime in one of the craziest acts the NRL has seen
Footy superstar Cody Walker has revealed his young son once confronted Lachlan Lewis over one of the NRL 's most bizarre and controversial moments. Back in 2021, Lewis escaped with just a fine after he opted to strangely body slam Canterbury playmaker Walker at half-time during his side's 32-24 defeat by the Bunnies in Round 18. The half-time buzzer had already gone and players were beginning to leave the pitch, when Lewis approached his opponent from behind, grabbed him and spun him into the ground. A brawl ensued, with Walker's team-mates flying in to back up their halfback. Several Canterbury players stood around looking perplexed at Lewis' antics, while Doggies coach Trent Barrett shook his head in disbelief as he watched on from the coaching box. But in another very funny and bizarre twist to the tale, Walker, 35, revealed on The Unfiltered Show that his young son had confronted Lewis in the team hotel after the match. 'The funny thing, after that, was we were all staying at the same hotel. Bulldogs, Souths, Parra, Warriors and Canberra,' Walker told the podcast. 'And my son, right... he's got no filter. He talks to anyone and he is a maniac. He actually questioned him [Lewis]. 'He goes: "Why'd you tackle my dad for?"' Walker, who was in hysterics, couldn't remember the full exchange but revealed that Lewis had approached him about it afterwards. 'He goes: "Your son actually came up and questioned me..."' Walker said, giggling with laughter. Walker and his partner Nellie have two sons together, Kian and Kade. 'It just sort of simmered the whole thing down, we just had a bit of a laugh about it,' he added. 'It was quite a funny experience when you think about it,' he added on the body slam. 'It sort of gave us an edge a bit because he got sin-binned after that and then we ran 'em over then.' 'It was strange.' At the time, Walker was reluctant to reveal what had been said between the pair, but when pressed again on their exchange on the podcast, he revealed their conversation was actually quite mundane. 'I'm not sure if you remember correctly but I made a bit of a break down the sideline to finish the half,' Walker said, recounting the moment. 'I sort of stepped back in and Will Hopoate tackled me and I think Lachlan Lewis was on top. 'Something happened, I can't remember. 'He grabbed me or touched me or something and I was just said: "Don't f***ing touch me!" 'It was when we were all getting off each other and I can't remember what happened. Then he just said: "What did you say?" Walker then repeated himself, before adding: 'Then he just grabs me! 'That was it. If you hear that story, it wasn't anything in particular. 'I held onto the ball,' he added laughing. 'I tried to grab him and I'm holding onto the ball, I don't know why I'm holding onto the ball.' At the age of 35, Walker is now one of the oldest players in the NRL, behind Daly Cherry-Evans and Mark Nicholls, and is showing no signs of slowing down. The Rabbitohs club legend began his professional NRL career with the Bunnies back in 2016 and has since gone on to return 100 tries over 220 games. Lewis, the nephew of NRL legend Wally Lewis, went on to play 43 times for the Bulldogs between 2018 and 2021 before being delisted by the club. His contract was torn up by the club after he had attempted to sell a sound speaker on eBay that was gifted to clubs by the NRL during COVID. No NRL clubs subsequently enquired on his availability, meaning Lewis is not made an appearance in the NRL since. Despite that, Lewis went viral back in 2022 after sharing a heartwarming clip of himself and his daughter Halli on his TikTok account.

Andy Farrell picks Henry Pollock as lineout option and hands trio debuts
Andy Farrell has backed Henry Pollock to prove his prowess as a lineout forward before his first British & Irish Lions start at No6. Pollock will play at blind-side flanker against NSW Waratahs in Sydney on Saturday in his third different jersey on this tour. He came off the bench at open-side against Argentina and started at No8 against the Western Force. Farrell believes the 20-year-old Englishman is proving his versatility. 'Henry's a very good lineout forward. You don't underestimate him in there,' Farrell, the Lions head coach, said. 'And then in regards to the best plan for the group that we've picked, we always come up with a lineout option or menu that's going to accommodate that. I actually thought the lineout was pretty good at the weekend, certainly how we got after their ball as well. So we need to push on in that regard though, that's for sure.' Hugo Keenan, Blair Kinghorn and Ben White will all make their Lions debuts against the Waratahs, with the touring side captained by Tadhg Beirne of Ireland. 'I'm delighted for Tadhg. The squad that's been picked [against Waratahs] is an exciting one. At the top of that is Tadhg Beirne as captain. He's honoured and delighted. It took him aback when I told him and that's exactly the type of reaction you want,' Farrell added. Keenan was meant to start in Brisbane against the Queensland Reds on Wednesday but fell ill, so Elliot Daly came in for him at the last minute, broke his arm, and has now gone home. Ben White, an injury replacement for Tomos Williams, who was sent home after tearing his hamstring against the Western Force, makes the bench for the first time. Farrell has gone for a 6-2 split among the substitutes with Marcus Smith the only other back. Farrell said he has wanted to see how the team fire with that bench split to prepare for the Test matches against Australia. Earl may have to move to inside centre, like he did against the Western Force in Perth. 'It was obviously in our planning, we thought of doing this along the way as well,' Farrell said. 'So here we are, and it just so happened that Ben [Earl] got to be able to play No12 anyway [on Wednesday]. That wasn't the plan but it's always in the background, because you're always aware these things can happen. 'So that was a nice little start as far as that's concerned, and obviously there are many more pieces that could happen that we might have to put together in regards to that. But yeah, it's a different way for us, but it's an exciting one. We're trying to find out more about ourselves.'
