Usher scraps 12 Sydney and Melbourne shows as Australian tour cancelled
The Texan artist, real name Usher Raymond IV, was to play six dates at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena and a further six shows at Sydney's SuperDome this November and December.
All 12 of these arena shows have been swiftly removed from sale, with a note that the shows will not go ahead. Neither the artist nor promoters have given a reason for the cancellation.
Tour promoter Live Nation has been approached for comment but is yet to respond to the ABC's questions.
These shows, part of Usher's Past Present Future world tour, were to be Usher's first Australian dates since he headlined the R&B Fridayz shows around Australia in 2018.
Initially announced as an eight-date tour in early May, a further four shows were added due to high demand in the pre-sale period, when fans could snap up tickets before the general on-sale date.
The back end of 2025 is congested with massive tours from the likes of AC/DC, Kendrick Lamar, Metallica, Addison Rae, Mariah Carey, Franz Ferdinand and many more.
The Ticketek website states that ticketholders will receive an automatic refund on the cards used to purchase their tickets. Ticketholders are advised to contact their ticketing provider with any questions.

The promoter of USHER's Australian Tour regrets to advise that the scheduled shows to take place in November/ December, will no longer be proceeding.
REFUND PROCESSAll tickets purchased (including refundable ticket purchases, if relevant) will be automatically refunded in full to the original payment method used. Customers do not need to take any action.
Customers who purchased tickets at a Ticketek Agency or using Ticketek Gift Vouchers, have been contacted to the email address of their Ticketek account to request additional information so we can process your refund.
Customers should allow approximately 30 business days for the refund to appear in their account.

Goth basketballer wears full face of makeup for games
She's the black sheep of the game and she knows it. With a full face of make-up every time she takes to the basketball court, Goth athlete Caitlin Cunningham makes no apologies for being the standout. In fact, she relishes in the spotlight and hopes she is a role model for other aspiring athletes – or anyone too afraid to be their authentic selves. 'I've always had heavy eye shadow and a very black goth aesthetic every single game I've played in my life, that's just me, some people get it, some don't,' Cunningham told 'I've always just messed around with makeup. Then last season I did a bit of a crow, extended the eye lines out. I always thought it would be cool to have full clown makeup, but I guess this is the next level down. I have quietly extended it,' she said. How does she keep her artwork intact for the full two hours of play? 'I guess I'm lucky I have never been much of a sweater,' she said. Cunningham said being the odd one out wasn't always easy. 'I was definitely the black sheep of the sport. Basketball in Australia is very political. I was always the odd one out, misunderstood, the one the coaches didn't get. 'I wouldn't be selected, wouldn't be a favourite. It got to the point where I stopped playing WNBL for a while.' Drafted to the Canberra Capitals at 19 after three years at the Australian Institute of Sport, Cunningham moved to Adelaide then Dandenong in Victoria, gradually became 'sick and tired' of people not believing in her. 'I thought 'f**k this' and started going out and hanging out with music friends and friends in fashion, other creative people and I just stepped away from the game, I was 25,' she said. Once the pandemic hit, and imports couldn't enter the country, Cunningham had several coaches asking her to reconsider her retirement. She took a contract on the Gold Coast and is now signed to Rockhampton in central Queensland. 'My style of game? I'm quite tall and skinny and these days a lot of players are heavy and strong girls,' Cunningham said. 'I'm like a little rat that runs and jumps, my game is pure athleticism. 'I don't have the physical brute but I am very tricky, agile and I can shoot.' Cunningham has the balance just right – living in Melbourne where she is continuing her music career and is soon to release her first song, personal training clients and working with youth at the YMCA, then flies to Rockhampton for matches and training. 'I'm really lucky I am doing it all, following all my dreams,' she said. 'I want people to know they should follow their dreams, do what they love, be their authentic self,' she said. As her online fan base increases exponentially, Cunningham takes her job as a role model extremely seriously. 'I have so many fans and people reaching out to me as a player, but also as a musician and as a person,' she said. 'I'm a queer Goth and if I had that person on the internet to look up to when I was young I would have felt so seen. 'It's empowerment, that's what life is about, having people that inspire you to be you, and live the best life you can, that's priceless.'

Bridal Waltz's stunning upset over She's An Artist in Creswick Stake no surprise to Peter Moody
Bridal Waltz flipped the script on hot favourite She's An Artist to win the Listed AR Creswick Stakes (1200m) at Flemington Saturday. The Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman-trained filly led the field up and refused to wilt as She's An Artist chipped away late. Bridal Waltz finished third behind She's An Artist the start prior but could not be headed on Saturday as jockey Jamie Melham indicated a two-week turnaround potentially worked against the favourite. 'She went into that (last start) probably slightly underdone and was ready to peak today,' Moody said. 'Obviously respectful of the two that beat her comfortably the other day (She's An Artist and Fieldelo) but we thought we were in the wrong part of the track too. 'We were quietly confident we could turn it around, we just had to hope the favourite maybe wasn't as good as the hype.' Duchess Zou finished off nicely to grab third from Fieldelo. Moody said Bridal Waltz would be freshened up for early spring targets. 'We'll let the dust settle and then pick our mark carefully through the spring,' Moody said. 'We won't get too excited, Listed (today) if we could work on Group 3, Group 2, we know she can run down the Flemington straight. 'The Bobbie Lewis is a nice race where some other horses are maybe getting ready for bigger targets if you're ready for the day you can maybe sneak one of those.' Jockey Ben Melham controlled the race from the outset. 'We drew the right barrier to control the speed, I felt from that draw I'd be able to dictate the rest of the field,' Melham said. 'That was probably the difference, in saying that though, my filly dug really deep when I needed her to. 'I was able to control the race, control the speed, she's a fit horse, and let down too good for them in the end.'
