Director Arun Prabhu's eagerly awaited Neo-political thriller 'Shakthi Thirumagan', featuring actor Vijay Antony in the lead, will release on September 5 this year, its makers have now announced.

The film has triggered huge interest among audiences and fans for a number of reasons. The first is that the film has been directed by Arun Prabhu. Both of Arun's previous films 'Aruvi' and 'Vaazhl' were critically acclaimed. The other reason why the film has raised expectations is that this will be Vijay Antony's 25th film.

A teaser that had been released by the makers earlier gives the impression that the film will be a gripping thriller that is likely to have audiences on the edge of their seats for the most part.
The teaser begins with the birth of a child. It is soon followed by a number of characters raving about the biggest scam of the nation. As politicians, bureaucrats, cops and the public wonder who is behind this scam, they realise that they are in the dark and that a man named Kittu is behind it… The teaser does what it is supposed to do. It teases you into wondering what the scam is, how it was pulled off and what repercussions Kittu is likely to face. On the whole, the teaser promises a gripping thriller.
Shakthi Thirumagan has been produced by Vijay Antony Film Corporation and features a musical score by Vijay Antony. The film has an ensemble cast that includes Vijay Antony, Vaagai Chandrasekar, Sunil Kripalani, Cell Murugan, Trupthi Ravindra, Kiran, Rini Bot, Riya Jithu and Master Keshav among others. Shelley Calist is handling the cinematography, and Raymond Derrick Crasta is the editor of the film.

‘I Have No Words': Honey Trehan Frustrated As Diljit's Punjab '95 Remains Stuck With CBFC
Last Updated: Honey Trehan, the director of Diljit Dosanjh starrer Punjab '95 said that CBFC objected to the mention of Indira Gandhi's name in the film, and questioned the logic behind this. Honey Trehan's film 'Punjab '95', starring Diljit Dosanjh as human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, has been stuck with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) since December 2022. The CBFC demanded 127 cuts, but there has been no further update, filmmaker Honey Trehan told NDTV. He stated that if the 127 cuts were made, only the trailer would remain. He disagreed with the cuts and said that he would remove his name from the film if they were enforced. He said that he understood the pressure on producers to make these cuts but felt the film would no longer reflect his direction. While speaking with NDTV, Honey Trehan pointed out some demands by the CBFC, such as removing 'Punjab' from the film's title despite it being set in Punjab. 'The story is set in Punjab. Why would any sensible person remove 'Punjab' from the title itself? They are Punjabi cops wearing a turban, and they tell me to call them 'Police' and not 'Punjab Police'. Where is the logic?" he questioned. He also added, 'They also said don't take Indira Gandhi's name. Okay, so then what should I call her? There's a film called Emergency that has been made on her whole life, and I can't even have one person take her name in the film? Why such partiality?" Trehan clarified that his film focuses on history and Jaswant Singh Khalra's human rights struggle, not on any political party. Having waited two and a half years, Trehan expressed his frustration over the lack of artistic freedom. 'I have waited and been patient for two and a half years. If you can't express through your art, then where is the democracy? I have no words. This is how it is right now. Beyond a point, it's in nobody's control," he said. Earlier, Jaswant Singh Khalra's wife, Paramjit Kaur Khalra, had fiercely opposed the censor board's demand for cuts, stating that the film, which was created with the family's consent, should be released unaltered. Kannada TV Actor Hospitalised After Husband Stabs Her In Bengaluru Over Suspected Infidelity

In a shocking incident, a Kannada TV actor and anchor, Manjula Shruthi, was stabbed by her husband over suspicion of infidelity in Bengaluru. The victim, Shruthi, is known for her roles in serials like Amruthadhaare. She was attacked on July 4 at Muneshwara Layout under the jurisdiction of Hanumanthnagar police station. The matter came to light recently. Shruthi and Amresh married 20 years ago after a love affair. The couple has two children and has been living in a rented house in Hanumanthnagar. However, Amresh reportedly disapproved of Shruthi's behaviour, and their relationship had become strained, NDTV reported. Shruthi separated from Amresh three months ago and moved in with her brother. After having disputes over house lease money, Shruthi filed a police complaint at Hanumanthnagar station. Despite this, the couple reconciled last Thursday. Shockingly, Amresh allegedly attacked Shruthi the next day, after their children had left for college. The attack involved pepper spray, followed by multiple stabbings to her ribs, thigh, and neck, as well as banging her head against the wall. Shruthi is undergoing treatment at Victoria Hospital. The Hanumanthnagar police have arrested Amresh and filed a case of attempted murder.
