‘The Boys' Mocks ‘The Last of Us,' ‘House of The Dragon' and ‘The Bear' in ‘Superclass' FYC Clip (EXCLUSIVE)
Bourke begins his Superclass by stressing that 'picking the role is more important than playing the role,' and goes on to guide supes through which genres to look for and which to avoid. The 'Dawns of the Seven' director advises supes to look for period pieces because they're full of 'penetration in petticoats,' followed by pointers on how to act convincingly during a sex scene.

He then moves on to 'premium dramas,' remarking that dragons are 'cheesy as hell,' but 'banging your sister on a dragon' is a 'jackpot.' For supes looking to star in prestige culinary TV shows, Bourke advises that 'if you're shucking pea shoots and placing rose petals with tweezers, get that speech ready, because we want to hear your well-formed thoughts on immigration.'
Bourke then tackles zombie shows: 'If they offer you [one], that's a hard pass unless there's a random heartfelt gay episode halfway through the series, because apparently one eighth gay is gay-okay. It's gay-okay with me and the Academy.'
He ends his Superclass with the most important rule of FYC season: never do a superhero show. 'You might think surprising characters with nuanced performances or insightful commentary makes a difference, but it doesn't fucking matter.'
Per Prime Video, 'Bourke is 'The Boys'' satirical answer to Hollywood's most notorious directors — once a big deal at Vought, now stuck teaching acting after misconduct allegations derailed his career. He's both a punchline and a pointed commentary on unchecked egos and abuses of power.'

7 hidden Roku tricks every user should know
Your Roku does way more than just stream Netflix and Hulu. Beneath its familiar interface lies clever features and shortcuts that can improve your streaming experience in surprising ways. Most people never discover these lesser-known tricks, missing out on convenient tools that save time and frustration every day. Some features help you navigate more efficiently, while others solve common problems you didn't even realize had solutions. There are also hidden settings that protect your privacy and secret screens that aren't mentioned anywhere in the official documentation. Whether you're a longtime Roku user or just got started, these hidden features will improve your experience with one of the best streaming devices. Instead of managing separate watchlists across Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, and every other streaming service, Roku lets you create one master list that works across all services. Use the Roku OS to search for shows and movies you want to watch, then select Add to Save List on each title's details page. This saves everything to a universal watchlist that you can access by going to the Roku home screen and selecting What to Watch. Your universal list shows everything in one place, making it much easier to decide what to watch next. The physical Roku remote is functional, but your phone can do so much more. Download the Roku Official Remote Control app for iOS or Android and you'll get a full keyboard for easy searching, the ability to stream content directly from your phone, as well as voice search. The app also lets you browse and launch channels without looking at your TV screen. You can type search terms quickly and if you lose the physical remote, your phone becomes an instant backup. The app even shows what's currently playing and gives you playback controls. If your remote has vanished into the couch cushions again, you don't need to tear apart your living room. If you have a remote with a speaker grille, open the Roku app, tap the microphone, and say "Hey, Roku, find my remote." The remote will start beeping so you can track it down. For Roku Ultra devices, just long-press the button on the right side of the device and the remote will beep. If you have a Voice Remote Pro, you can say "Hey, Roku, find my remote" directly to the TV and it will start beeping. Once you find it, press any button to stop the noise. You can even customize the beeping sound in Settings if the default tone isn't loud enough. When friends or family visit, they can use your Roku without messing up your recommendations, watchlists, or personal settings. Go to to set up a PIN, then press the Home button on your Roku remote and navigate to Settings, System, Guest Mode, and Enter Guest Mode. Then enter your PIN and select OK to activate it. Now guests can sign into their own streaming accounts and use the device normally, but their viewing history won't affect your algorithms and they can't see your personal content. Late-night binge-watching doesn't have to wake up your household. If you have a first-generation Voice Remote Pro, you can plug headphones directly into the remote's headphone jack and audio will automatically redirect from the TV to your headphones. For newer remotes without headphone jacks, use the Roku mobile app's Headphone Mode to listen through your phone's headphones or earbuds. The TV audio gets muted while you get full sound through your personal audio device. This works great for apartments, shared living spaces, or when your partner goes to bed early but you want to keep watching. Roku has hidden diagnostic screens can help you troubleshoot problems. These secret screens let you run network speed tests, view detailed system information, check channel installation logs, and perform various resets when your device isn't working properly. You can access these by pressing specific button combinations on your remote or entering special codes. To run a network speed test, press Home 5 times, then Up, Down, Up, Down, Up and you'll get access to speed testing, reset, and logging options. For a soft reset when your Roku is acting up, press Home 5 times, Up once, Rewind twice, and Fast Forward twice and your device will restart without erasing settings. The speed test screen is particularly useful for diagnosing streaming quality issues, showing you exactly how fast your internet connection is performing on the Roku device itself. Tired of being blasted awake by loud commercials or having to constantly adjust volume between quiet dialogue and loud action scenes? To avoid this, press the star button on your remote during playback, then navigate to Sound Settings and Volume Mode. Turn on Leveling to prevent sudden volume spikes from commercials and channel changes. You can also enable Night mode to boost quiet sounds and reduce loud ones, which is perfect for late-night viewing when you don't want to disturb others. For Roku Streambars and Soundbars, you'll find these options under Settings, Audio and Volume Modes instead. Gen V season 2 is turning into a stealth season 4.5 of The Boys, as Starlight actor Erin Moriarty joins the cast
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Although there is no The Boys panel at San Diego Comic Con this year, the supes are definitely in the building as Gen V season 2 is here, and the show has dropped a bombshell: Erin Moriarty, AKA Starlight, is beaming over from the mothership show to join the students at Godolkin University for the imminent second season. And that's not all. The SDCC 2025 panel also brought news that Wicked star Ethan Slater is joining the cast for season 2 as none other than Thomas Godolkin, the founder of the school for fledgling supes. They'll be joined by Nathan Mitchell's man of few words, Black Noir, in the upcoming season. In other words, it's really starting to sound like essential viewing ahead of The Boys season 5. We last saw our favorite super-able students when Marie, Emma, Jordan, and Andre were framed for turning God U into a bloodbath, which was really Sam and Cate's doing. Vought then sent the four down to the Woods. But despite Gen V season 1 ending in utter chaos, season 2 starts with Marie, Emma, and Jordan returning for their sophomore year at Godolkin. This is because season 2 sees a little time jump as it takes place directly after the events of The Boys season 4. The official synopsis reads: "As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander's iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever." However, just because our favorite four are out of the woods now, that doesn't mean that everything has gone back to normal. "The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it." The series welcomes back Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer, Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap, London Thor and Derek Luh as Jordan Li, Asa Germann as Sam Riordan, and adds Hamish Linklater as Dean Cipher and Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity. Oh, we'll also see some Boys cameos too, including Chace Crawford's The Deep. Gen V season 2 will release with a three-episode premiere on Prime Video on Wednesday, September 17. The Boys' final season Comic-Con footage shows a safer nation under Homelander
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Every journey has an end, but chances are we won't encounter one as sweary as the final season of The Boys. Amazon's Emmy-winning series, which has mastered turning superheroes into villains, is set to conclude next year, and fans at this year's San Diego Comic-Con were fortunate enough to get a sneak peek of what's coming. Naturally, things don't look promising in this world filled with corrupt crimefighters after members of The Boys were snatched up last season, and Homelander (Antony Starr) seemingly seized complete control of the country, using the U.S. president as his puppet. What will it take to stop the star-spangled psychopath and his plans? Well, help from the younger generation might do the trick, or maybe something supernatural as well. According to a breakdown from Variety, the teaser trailer revealed the usual mix of blood, guts, and questionable liquids, along with some new and familiar faces sprinkled throughout. You know the drill by now, surely? A bloody hairball being thrown up here, a violently unhealthy bathroom trip there. One detail that will excite Supernatural fans, though, is Jared Padalecki showing his loveable mug in the preview, continuing the trend of cast members from showrunner Eric Kripke's previous 15-season show appearing in the Vought-ruled world. Kripke himself confirmed back in May that we would see Padalecki alongside Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy and Misha Collins "all in the same frame together" at some point; we just don't know in what capacity, since Padalecki and Collins' roles still haven't been confirmed. The teaser also hinted at the ongoing crossover between The Boys and its spin-off super-school show, Gen V (whose second season is honestly looking like The Boys season 4.5), thanks to the appearance of one of its model students, Jordan Li (London Thor). Last we saw, they were trapped in an off-the-books facility along with the rest of the rebels in the show's first season, suggesting that they might be helping in the fight back against Vought and its unhinged poster boy here. Speaking of that milk-loving madman, it sounds like Homelander got the real mic drop moment of the teaser, having now taken his new unofficial role as ruler of the country. Declaring the United States as "a safer, more god-fearing nation," we can only expect that things will be anything but by the time the final episode airs. We'll be able to see who gets their cape crumpled and their body in a broken and bloody state when The Boys return to town for the last time in 2026.
