Legendary 00s band announce huge tour after cancelling Glastonbury slot
The iconic 00s metal band will kick off their run of UK shows on February 12 in Birmingham before performing in Glasgow, Manchester, Dublin, and Cardiff, ending in London on February 20.
The tour comes in support of the band's upcoming album, Private Music, which is their first release in five years.
They marked the tour news with the release of a brand new single, My Mind is a Mountain, the first song from their upcoming tenth studio album.
Tickets go on general sale at 9am on July 18, while fans who pre-order private Music from the band's official UK/EU store will get early access.
Denzel Curry and Drug Church will support Deftones on all shows of their UK and EU tour.
It comes after the My Own Summer hitmakers were forced to cancel their appearance at this year's Glastonbury Festival due to illness.
In a statement shared on their Instagram Story, they said: 'In an unfortunate development, an illness in the band is going to prevent us from playing Glastonbury tonight.
'We're devastated to be missing out on something we've been looking forward to for months, but sometimes circumstances out of our control interfere with things we want to do the most.'
Their show the following day at Crystal Palace Park, supported by the likes of Weezer, went ahead as planned.
Skepta stepped in to replace the band at the Worthy Farm event.
Deftones – made up of vocalist Chino Moreno, lead guitarist Stephen Carpenter, and drummer Abe Cunningham, and keyboardist and turntablist Frank Delgado – formed in Sacramento, California, in 1988 and went on to release their debut album Adrenaline in 1995, featuring singles 7 Words and Bored.

The word-of-mouth success of the release was amplified by the band's second studio release, Around the Fur, which became their first album to be certified both gold and platinum by the RIAA.
White Pony was released in 2000, featuring lead single Change (In the House of Glies) which remains Deftones' most commercially successful single, peaking at number three on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart, and number nine on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. More Trending
Elite, which also featured on the album, won a Grammy Award for best metal performance.
Tragedy hit the band in 2008 when original bass player Chi Cheng was involved in a traffic collision, which left him in a minimal state of consciousness until his death in 2013.
Deftones recruited Sergio Vega to replace Cheng, appearing in recorded work as well as touring with the band until his departure in 2021.
The band has released nine studio albums, with 2020's Ohms going on to be nominated for a Grammy Award and receiving overwhelming critical praise.

I am 35 and have spent more than two decades taking a fairly cavalier approach to noise. I was in primary school when I got my first Walkman, later upgraded to an iPod. Then as I got a bit older I spent weekends camped near nightclub speakers screaming the lyrics to Mr Brightside. University involved similar nights out with even worse music; after graduating I discovered podcasts. I never gave much thought to my ears — until a bad infection caused my left eardrum to perforate and it scared me. This time at Glastonbury I wore earplugs under my bucket hat.

Major music festival with A-list headliners cancelled at the last minute
Connecticut's popular Soundside Music Festival has abruptly been cancelled, two months before its headliners were set to take the stage. The two-day event – which was set to return to Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Connecticut on September 27 and 28 – has been axed due to 'circumstances beyond our control', organisers have said. The headliners slated for the event were The Killers, Weezer, Hozier and Vampire Weekend, with Japanese Breakfast, Remi Wolf, Alex Warren and The Last Dinner Party also included in the line-up. But now a brief message on the festival's website has announced: 'Due to circumstances beyond our control, Soundside Music Festival has been cancelled. 'Tickets will be refunded to the original method of payment in as little as 30 days depending on your bank's processing time.' Music festival fans fume as event with The Killers and Weezer due to perform is cancelled
Music lovers have been left disappointed after a huge festival was cancelled with a brief message on the organisers website letting fans know just weeks before they were due to attend A major music festival has been cancelled with attendees being informed by a message on its website. SoundSide Music Festival was due to take place between September 27 and 28 at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Confirmed acts at the event included headliners The Killers, Weezer, Hozier and Vampire Weekend. However, the two-day musical gathering has now been axed entirely with no reason given to fans. A message on the website states, 'Due to circumstances beyond our control, Soundside Music Festival has been cancelled. Tickets will be refunded to the original method of payment in as little as 30 days depending on your bank's processing time.' Other expected acts on the line-up at the festival included Djo, Japanese Breakfast, the Backseat Lovers, Remi Wolf, Alex Warren and the Last Dinner Party. Disappointed ticket holders were just weeks away from attending and have not had any further information provided to them.
