I was dead for 2 minutes and I didn't want to leave — what I saw on the other side was beyond belief
Nicole Meeuws was lifeless on a hospital bed, officially pronounced dead for two minutes, when she supposedly felt 'pulled' from her body and entered a tunnel of light where she was met by 'blue-skinned' beings, she told NeedToKnow.
The 49-year-old artist was in the hospital after losing her baby and was rushed into emergency surgery, but, due to complications, she started to go in and out of consciousness.
'I found myself passing through a tunnel of blue and white light, not a beam, but a corridor that felt alive,' she said.
Meeuws, who is from Greece, said that the light had a temperature and tone — 'almost like music made of water' — and she entered a glowing space with 'luminous' colors such as silver, soft violets and deep radiant blues.
'It didn't feel frightening; it felt like I was being called home,' she said.
'The chamber was vast, larger than any earthly structure, and everything pulsed gently like a heartbeat,' she added. 'And then I saw them.'
Meeuws revealed that she was greeted by 'blue-skinned' beings with human faces, similar to the characters in 'Avatar.'
'Two towering beings seated on marble-like thrones, shimmering with energy. Their eyes were large and indigo, filled with kindness and recognition,' she said. 'They looked human, but had gentle gills on their cheeks. I remember seeing their fish-like tails, rather than legs, covered in scales.'
'They were both male and female intertwined and didn't speak in words – but I understood everything they had to tell me,' Meeuws added.
She said she didn't understand their language, but the Avatar-like figures allegedly made her feel at home and telepathically communicated with her that life is actually an illusion and we start to live when we die.
Meeuws also said they told her that she wasn't meant to have children and rather she was given the gift to teach people about 'the other side.'
'I felt more known than I had ever felt in my life; I didn't want to leave,' she noted. 'I understood this place, this feeling, and I truly believe it was the original home from which we all come from.'
'I learned that death is not an end, it's a return to our actual lives,' Meeuws added.
After the minutes she was pronounced dead, Meeuws was 'zapped' back into her body, and when her husband, Christos, 65, tried to speak to her, she communicated in a high-pitched tone in an 'unfamiliar' language.
'It sounded like dolphin clicks. It continued for minutes, which left everyone around us stunned. But I couldn't stop it – it was coming through me, not from me,' Meeuws said.
'My senses were heightened and I could hear emotion in people's voices as color. I returned completely different; almost reborn,' she added.
Meeuws hasn't had any near-death experiences since the incident, but she said she has visions of the blue-skinned figures often. She believes they are non-alien creatures from the Apkallu interdimensional tribe, also referred to as Demigods, that allegedly have given civilization to mankind.
According to Meeuws, the mission given to her by these blue beings is to spread the message that 'love is stronger than death.'
'Love will always win; it's where we came from. We're all one big family, regardless of boundaries, cultures, religion and politics. Everything that exists came from the same spark,' she said. 'The more we hold onto fear, hate and lies, the easier it is to control humanity.'
'To create heaven on Earth, we must spend each day spreading love. I'm no longer afraid of death because I know what's waiting for me on the other side,' she noted. 'It was a beginning, not an end.'

Just then, Jacob walks in and says he has police business with Nicole. He says there has been a report of assault against Nicole by Leslie at Orphey Gene's. Nicole admits she and Leslie had words and then 'scuffled' but says they are both equally responsible for the skirmish. Jacob says Leslie has contusions on her neck and asks if Nicole tried to 'choke her to death.' A flustered Nicole says she wishes she had succeeded, which stuns Kat. Kat tries to run interference for her mother and Nicole says she barely touched Leslie. Jacob asks for witnesses and Nicole notes Ted walked in on it and there were plenty of folks in the restaurant. With that, he exits. Kat asks what her mother wanted to talk about before Jacob came in but Nicole says it's going to have to wait. With that, she exits. Hotel – Ted's Room: Ted is yelling at Bill about their dead Kenneth problem. He hangs up when Leslie arrives at his door. She walks past him and thanks Ted for driving her home after Nicole tried to strangle her. Leslie pulls a scarf aside and shows red marks on her neck. Ted didn't realize Nicole got a hold of her neck in such a way to cause those marks (Is Ted this daft?). He tries to calm down her dramatics and opens the door for her to leave. Leslie mentions the accreditation issue at the office and says Eva was quite upset. Ted says it's all been settled. Leslie figured Eva would find a way out of Kat's trap. A surprised Ted shuts the door as he wants details. Leslie thinks he should ask Eva. Ted can't believe Eva wouldn't rat out Kat as the two are always at odds. Leslie says Eva denied it to her, as well, but she knows her kid. She thinks Ted should think about which mother/daughter duo is there for him and which one is always on the attack. Leslie gets all kinds of flirty with Ted who is clearly impacted by her touch. He says it's not going to happen, and she says it's all good as she has to go. Leslie tells her Teddy Bear goodbye and exits. Orphey Gene's: Eva and Tomas are upset with themselves over their kiss. Tomas notes he really liked the kiss. Eva admits she feels the same but doesn't want to upset Kat's apple cart. He says he knows how Kat treats her. Eva admits she was bad to Kat at the beginning but no longer. For some reason, Tomas decides it's a good idea to tell Eva about not having sex with Kat. Eva and Tomas take a seat at a table so she can get the skinny on the no sex situation. Eva is stunned to learn Kat is a virgin. She thinks it's so old fashioned for someone so seemingly worldly. Tomas asks she not repeat the information and Eva promises. He continues to spill and tells Eva about the night he turned her down for sex. He thought the whole thing felt forced and felt a lot of pressure. Eva thinks it's always better to communicate for the sake of clarity. Tomas thanks her for being easy to talk to. He admits he feels a little guilty about their kiss but doesn't quite know where he and Kat stand. Eva admits she doesn't have this kind of energy with anyone else. Tomas wants them to keep getting to know each other and takes her hand. Garland Memorial Hospital – Exam Room: Madison listens at the door as Chelsea tells Allison she needs to leave her husband. Allison defends Craig a bit and says he has all kinds of good quality and doesn't get physical all the time. Chelsea says it's never ok for Craig to ever lay hands on her. Allison shifts to telling Chelsea how grateful she is for her help and thinks it proves their connection. Chelsea says she would help anyone who needed that kind of assistance. She mentions calling Bill to find out Allison's options but she shuts her down. Allison loses her cool and tells Chelsea to go. Chelsea runs into Madison in the lobby. Madison thinks Allison is possibly making up the allegations of her husband's abuse. She notes Allison's timing is coincidental as it coincides with wanting Chelsea back. She thinks Chelsea should put two and two together. Madison thinks there is something very off with Chelsea. Previous Beyond The Gates Recap: Endings Chelsea returns to Allison's room after getting her text. Allison apologizes saying she doesn't actually want to drop her husband into the legal system. She says she will be ok. Chelsea says she was only trying to help and says, once again, she should leave her husband. She wishes Allison well but can't be a part of getting her help moving forward and won't be back to visit. Chelsea asks her not to reach out to her again as their interactions have been very strange and are hurting her relationship with Madison. With that, she exits. Tomas and Eva can't believe how long they have been talking. Eva says she's going back to her place and Tomas asks if he can join. Jacob arrives to see Ted who clearly thinks he's there to arrest him for some role in the Martin/dead Kenneth debacle. Jacob then asks about what he saw when Nicole and Leslie go at it. Ted inquires and Jacob specifically asks if he saw Nicole choke Leslie. Ted says he can't implicate Nicole when he's trying to save his marriage. Jacob asks if he is refusing to make a statement and Ted confirms. Nicole arrives to see Leslie and walks right in and wants to see Leslie's contusions. She pulls the scarf back and Nicole immediately discovers her bruises are simply purple eye shadow. Leslie giggles a bit and says she has pictures of her injuries for court. Nicole says her plan is doomed to be a failure. Leslie says there is always another plan as there is always a next time. Nicole looks forward to it and makes her exit. Beyond The Gates Recap: Nicole Learns Bill Orchestrated Kenneth's Murder
Beyond The Gates Recap: Nicole Learns Bill Orchestrated Kenneth's Murder originally appeared on Daytime Confidential. On today's Beyond The Gates recap: Anita and Vernon's Mansion: Anita is practicing her choreography when Vernon walks in and fawns over her. Just then, Martin walks in and says he's headed to his mother's house. He says he's coming clean to her about what happened to Kenneth. Smitty has told him the only way they are getting back together is if he comes clean to family about everything. Nicole's Pad: Nicole is on the phone with the head of the hospital. She says she is ready to come back to work. Nicole thinks the storm has passed with her family and she shouldn't have to deal with anymore surprises. Martin arrives and notices his mother's smile. She says she's moving forward and going back to work. Martin hates the thought that he might be about to set her back. He promises it's the last detail he left out. They take a seat, and Martin tells his mother about Kenneth and how Bill, Malone, Joey and Elon took care of him. She is stunned to hear about Elon as she thinks he's of high moral character. Nicole asks if her dad knew and Martin says they were both in the dark (Oh Martin, what you don't know…). Nicole says she doesn't understand why folks won't tell her things as she isn't a delicate flower. No one is going to love and protect him more than she will. Martin understands but says he didn't want to lose the dream of being President and knew she would make him face the truth. Nicole realizes she's at fault for not asking questions as she should've known something was going on both with him and Ted. She thinks they should work some of these issues out under the guise of client-patient privilege (um, no). They agree and Nicole says she needs to go take care of something. Orphey Gene's: Jacob arrives and takes a seat with Naomi. He tells her about Leslie pressing charges Nicole with Ted as the only witness. She thinks it was smart for him to decline a statement. Naomi hopes and prays her husband didn't put cuffs on another member of her family. Jacob says he took the evidence he had to the DA who said it wasn't enough for an arrest. He says he tries to ignore the Dupree missteps but wonders what Vernon would do. Naomi says her grandfather would protect his own no matter what. Martin arrives and Jacob walks up to chat. He says he heard about him and Smitty and is rooting for them to get back together. He probes a bit why Martin stepped away from the family and says he wants to help with the man who was stalking them. Martin shades the truth saying, as far as he knows, the man hasn't made contact with anyone recently. Martin appreciates Jacob's offer but says he and Smitty will work it out. Jacob continues bringing up Kenneth's death in the park and how it can't be a coincidence it happened around his press conference. Martin goes into politician mode and says he and his constituents are always concerned about a rise in crime in the area. He's glad Marcel is on the case as he's certain he will find the culprit. With that, he gets up to grab takeout and leave. Hotel – Eva's Room: Eva and Tomas arrive back as she looks for the book to give him. He gets tickled when she acts all kinds of shy. Tomas isn't concerned about the book. He just wants to hang with her. Eva says she's a wee bit freaked out and doesn't know what happens next. Tomas says they could simply talk about books or continue what they started at Orphey Gene's. With that, they kiss and hit the sheets. As they get hot and heavy, Eva stops because of Kat as it's what she's been accusing her of this very thing. Tomas says he and Kat aren't exclusive. She wonders if Kat has the same understanding. Eva says she wants to be the main character rather than the side piece. She finally has the chance to be the heroine of the story. Just then, Kat bangs on the door saying they need to talk. Eva pushes Tomas to head to the bathroom but her refuses. Eva answers the door and Kat rushes in. She is stopped dead in her tracks when she sees Tomas, who says he's just there to pick up a book. Kat has no time and exits. Tomas is annoyed he didn't hide in the bathroom. Eva is more than irritated that Tomas still hid by lying to Kat about why he is there. She finds the book and tries to push Tomas out. He apologizes and hopes Eva will continue to allow him in her life. With that, he exits and Eva says 'the end.' Bill and Hayley's Place: Bill notices his wife's new dress and says she looks wonderful and would never know she was pregnant. They chat a bit about their upcoming child and he says he put another deposit in the college fund that covers everything for undergraduate education. Hayley thinks they are all lucky to be Hamiltons. Hayley asks where he stands with the Dupree. Bill says they only call him if they need something. She was hoping their grip on him would loosen and is disturbed that he can't quit them. Bill says that is no longer the case. Nicole arrives, storms into the living room and calls Bill a murderer. Hayley sees the resemblance between Nicole and Dani and tells her to get out. Bill intervenes and asks his wife to give them a moment. Bill chastises Nicole as Hayley knows nothing of the Martin situation. Nicole thinks Hayley deserves to know who her baby daddy is as she should have known Ted was someone else's baby daddy. Bill tries to avoid giving up any details of his own actions, but Nicole is done. She says she knows the whole story and is DONE listening to his foolishness. Bill pushes back saying she is clearly joining the Dupree hypocrites and sitting up on high whilst he does the family's dirty work. He asks how Martin would have fared if he had to go through a trial for killing a racist. Bill says, no matter the means, he's the one who saved Martin, not her. Anita and Vernon's Mansion: Naomi arrives and tells them about the new case that landed on Jacob's desk which makes it seem like Martin is guilty of something. She can't imagine how Martin is in trouble and they don't know anything about it. She then realizes she might be the only one out of the loop. They're silence speaks volumes and she realizes they can't say because she's married to a police officer. Anita and Vernon don't want her to have to carry the burden of the truth but Naomi wants to know everything. Vernon hands her a dollar and retains her as their attorney which begins privilege. With that, Vernon tells her the story of two years prior. They continue by telling her about Kenneth dying at the hands of Malone. Vernon says Elon played his part in both the investigation around Martin and Kenneth. Anita says Elon is a good man as they all thought they were doing the right thing by protecting Martin. Naomi can't believe what she's hearing. Anita goes on to tell Naomi that Martin and Vernon wanted to pay Kenneth off, but Bill and Joey had other plans. Naomi can't believe Bill instigated murder. Vernon says he is also at fault for going to Bill but thought there were lines 'the fixer' wouldn't cross. Previous Beyond The Gates Recap: Endings Kat walks in and vents about Eva and Tomas to Martin. She says Tomas is a liar and a cheater like all men. Martin tries to get his sister to pump the brakes, and she takes a breath. Nicole wishes the Dupree family never came in contact with the likes of Bill. He says the almighty Vernon is to blame. Bill can't imagine the patriarch of an upstanding family needing a cleanup man. Nicole thinks he is a piece of work. Bill continues saying he was once a Dupree believer. He says he is just as disappointed in the Duprees as she is right now. Nicole does a slow clap and tells Bill to stay away from her entire family. She says SHE is the fixer now! Naomi tells the grands she thought her father had changed. She let him back in but thought the worst of the secrets and lies had passed. Killing someone was something she thought her father wasn't capable of. Naomi moves on reminding her grandparents of Jacob's investigation into Martin and now dead Kenneth. Anita asks how much he knows. Naomi says Jacob is putting the pieces together quickly. She says they need to prepare for the possibility their dirty laundry may be aired quite quickly. 'Avatar: Seven Havens' first look reveals the next earthbending Avatar
A Comic-Con panel revealed the first image of the Avatar, her mentor, and her animal companion. Meet the new Avatar. Avatar: Seven Havens, the next sequel series in Nickelodeon's kid-friendly animated fantasy franchise, revealed a first look out of a panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego on Thursday. The image reveals the Avatar who will follow Korra, the waterbending Avatar from The Legend of Korra. This new Avatar, capable of commanding all four natural elements (earth, air, fire, water), was born an earthbender. And in this timeline, she's considered humanity's destroyer, not its savior." According to a previously released show description, Avatar: Seven Havens "is set in a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm. A young earthbender discovers she's the new Avatar after Korra — but in this dangerous era, that title marks her as humanity's destroyer, not its savior. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens before civilization's last strongholds collapse." The first-look image also reveals her mentor, who appears to be wearing airbender colors. And because every Avatar needs an animal companion, we also get that reveal of this unnamed earthbender's four-legged friend. The initial 26 episodes will be split into two seasons, known as Book 1 and Book 2. Each will consist of 13 half-hour episodes. Original series creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, who made both Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, are back, spearheading Avatar: Seven Havens. "When we created the original series, we never imagined we'd still be expanding the world decades later," they said in a previous joint statement. "This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters. Get ready to take another epic and emotional adventure!" Casting information and a premiere date will be revealed at a later time. Paramount is also developing the first Avatar animated movie, about Avatar Aang as an adult. That project is scheduled to release in theaters on Jan. 30, 2026, with a voice cast that includes Dave Bautista, Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten, Román Zaragoza, and newcomer Eric Nam.
