Man posing as cop held for exploiting 20 women nationwide
AGRA: Muzaffarnagar Police on Tuesday arrested a man accused of posing as a police constable to deceive and sexually exploit more than 20 women across several states. The accused, identified as Naushad Tyagi, 30, allegedly used the alias Rahul Tyagi and wore a fake police uniform to gain the trust of vulnerable women and manipulate them into relationships.
SSP Sanjay Kumar Verma said Naushad, a school dropout, targeted women on social media who lived alone, many of whom were widowed or separated from their husbands. He would then sexually exploit them before disappearing from their lives.
His activities spanned multiple cities, including Delhi,
Ghaziabad
, Bulandshahr, Mathura, Sambhal, Muzaffarnagar, and even parts of Assam and Meghalaya. During interrogation, Naushad admitted to having 18–20 girlfriends and confessed to physically exploiting at least 10 of them.
The matter came to light when one of the women filed a complaint at the city police station, after which the case was handed over to DSP (City) Raju Kumar. Naushad, a resident of Charthawal in Muzaffarnagar, was arrested and a fake police uniform was recovered from him. He has been booked under several sections, including BNS Section 69 (sexual intercourse obtained through deceit).
SSP Verma said Naushad had been using the fake uniform, allegedly stolen from a real constable friend in Sambhal, for over two years. He even mingled with actual police personnel without revealing his true identity. Legal action is underway, and police have urged other potential victims to come forward.

Speaking to TOI, Ranjith said, "When Sarkar received my call around 9.30am, I introduced myself to him and asked him to share the exact location of his house where the parcel was to be delivered. He replied to me in Hindi and started scolding me for speaking in Kannada. I spoke to him in Hindi and politely asked him to stop abusing me. But he continued to make abusive remarks about Kannadigas and Karnataka. He said, 'If 70 per cent of Hindi people leave Karnataka, you will not have Rs 10 to buy tomatoes'. He further asked me to record his call and take his tower location." Following this, Ranjith shared the conversation with Kannada activists and later, lodged a complaint with the police. A senior officer said an FIR has been registered under BNS sections 196 (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., Tired of too many ads? go ad free now and doing acts prejudicial to the maintenance of harmony) and 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace). Sarkar was arrested. During interrogation, it was found that Sarkar could speak Kannada fluently. 15-yr-old alleges rape by hockey coaches in Odisha, 4 held
Representational Image KENDRAPADA: Four hockey coaches were detained by police in Odisha's Jajpur district on Monday after a 15-year-old aspiring player, who had been training at the centre for the past two years, filed an FIR accusing them of raping her. According to the FIR registered on Sunday night, the gang rape took place on the evening of July 3 after the conclusion of a coaching session at a local stadium. The survivor alleged that the accused, all in their 30s, took her to a lodge, where they overpowered and raped her. She alleged she was assaulted when she tried to resist the men, and was threatened with physical harm if she told anyone about the rape. Police registered a case of gang rape under sections of BNS and Pocso Act , and launched an investigation. The survivor's statement was recorded in a court on Monday.

Duo arrested in Mohali on murder charge
1 2 Mohali: Mohali police on Monday arrested two men for allegedly beating a migrant labourer to death at a dera in Miyanpur Changar village, under Majri block. The deceased, identified as Senki (28), hailed from Madhya Pradesh and had been working at a nearby brick kiln with his family. The arrested accused were identified as Saudagar Singh, a resident of Morinda, and Inderjit Singh, a resident of Baroli village in Kharar. Police said both were apprehended from the dera itself, where the incident occurred. They are set to be produced in court on Tuesday. According to the FIR based on the complaint of the victim's wife, Pinky, the assault took place on July 20 night. Pinky told the police that her husband had gone to purchase household goods from the village after dinner but did not return that night. A search was launched by family members and fellow labourers, but Senki remained missing until the following evening. At around 5.30pm on Sunday, the dera manager reportedly informed Pinky that a man had been caught naked at Baba's grave. Suspecting it could be her husband, Pinky rushed to the spot with a co-worker and discovered Senki lying injured near the dera's langar area. His vest was torn, and he appeared severely beaten. In a dying declaration to his wife, Senki reportedly said he had stopped at the Dera to drink water on his way back from meeting his brother in Khijrabad village. There, two Nihangs confronted him, accused him of being under the influence of drugs, and began assaulting him. He pleaded innocence, but they continued to beat and detain him overnight. Pinky further alleged that when she tried to intervene, Saudagar and Inderjit attacked her as well and chased her away. When she returned in the morning with other labourers, Senki was critically unwell. Despite attempts to revive him and get him medical help, he succumbed to his injuries at the spot. Pinky and Senki, who were living in a nearby slum, had five children: Mansi (11), Chadni (10), Mai (6), Pari (4), and Aju (2). The family had arrived in Punjab just 10–12 days ago to work at the kiln. Majri police, along with a forensic team, reached the crime scene and collected evidence. Following initial investigation, the accused were booked under Sections 103 (murder) and 126(2) (wrongful confinement and torture) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Majri police station. A senior police officer confirmed the arrests and said further investigation is underway.
