Multiple locations across Kashmir linked to cross-border terror network raided

In one such operation earlier this month, two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists - identified as Irfan Bashir and Uzair Salam - were arrested in Shopian during a joint operation by the Army, J&K Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The two surrendered during the encounter, averting a potential encounter. Two AK-56 rifles, four magazines, two hand grenades and other ammunition were recovered from their possession.Just two weeks back, three LeT terrorists were killed in the Zinpather Keller area of Shopian during an encounter with security forces. The Army launched "Operation Keller" based on specific intelligence inputs provided by the Rashtriya Rifles. Among the slain terrorists were Shahid Kuttay and Adnan Shafi, both residents of Shopian.advertisementPrior to that, three Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists were killed in the Nadar area of Tral in Pulwama. . SRINAGAR: A fierce gunbattle between security forces and terrorists in south Kashmir's Kulgam district entered the third day Sunday, turning into one of the longest and most intense counterinsurgency operations this year in the Valley. The Army has confirmed the killing of one terrorist and police sources that of another, with the identities and affiliation of the duo yet to be established. Cyber fraud nabbed in 2.98-crore scam
Ranchi: The criminal investigation department (CID) has nabbed a cybercriminal in connection with the cheating of an Army officer of around Rs 2.98 crore after luring him to invest in a fake platform impersonating the Chicago Board of Options Exchange. CID officials said on Sunday that the accused person, Dinesh Jaiswal, was arrested during a raid conducted in Jamshedpur on Saturday. Other senior officials informed that this is the largest investment fraud case registered by CID in Jharkhand, and the crime has an international link. The officer has lost almost his entire savings in the fraud, they said. "Based on the victim's complaint, the cybercrime police station had registered a case under relevant sections of the BNS and the Information Technology Act on July 27. The complainant was misled with false promises of high returns in metal trading through the fake platform on the Telegram channel," the CID said. The department also said that while investigating the case, it found that the accused person was actively involved in siphoning proceeds of the fraud through an IndusInd Bank account in the name of Jaiswal Enterprises, Kolkata. Gonda Canal Incident At least eleven people died after a vehicle carrying pilgrims fell into a canal in the Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. According to the official, "Eleven people died after their vehicle fell into a canal under Itia Thok Police Station limits in Gonda. The vehicle had 15 passengers onboard and they were going to Prithvinath Temple to offer prayers."
