Court sources said the matter is now listed for August 7 and 8 for certain clarifications.
Earlier on July 15, Special judge Vishal Gogne had reserved the order for July 29 after noting that the submissions on the aspect of cognisance had been concluded.

The court had been hearing the submissions on the point of cognisance by the Enforcement Directorate and the accused on a day-to-day basis from July 2.
The ED has accused Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, late party leaders Motilal Vora and Oscar Fernandes, as well as Suman Dubey, Sam Pitroda and a private company, Young Indian, of conspiracy and money laundering over the alleged fraudulent takeover of Rs 2,000 crore worth properties belonging to Associated Journals Limited (AJL), which published the National Herald newspaper.
The agency alleges that the Gandhis held the majority 76 per cent shares in Young Indian, which allegedly fraudulently usurped the assets of AJL in exchange for a Rs 90 crore loan.
The chargesheet names Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, Pitroda, Dubey, Sunil Bhandari, Young Indian and Dotex Merchandise Pvt Ltd.

EC doubles pay for BLOs involved in roll revision
. NEW DELHI: A day after asking its poll personnel in the field to ignore repeated threats and allegations by some opposition netas and continue working impartially, the Election Commission decided to reward the officers involved in electoral roll revision, reports Bharti Jain. For booth-level officers (BLOs), annual remuneration and incentive for roll revision stands doubled to Rs 12,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively. These rates were last revised in 2015. BLOs will also get Rs 6,000 as special incentive for special intensive revision (SIR). The BLO supervisor will receive an annual remuneration of Rs 18,000 as against Rs 12,000, in force since 2015. EROs and assistant EROs, who did not get any honorarium so far, will now receive an honorarium of Rs 30,000 and Rs 25,000 each. Stating that pure electoral rolls are bedrock of democracy, EC Saturday commended the electoral roll machinery comprising EROs, Asst EROs, BLO supervisors and BLOs for doing "a lot or hard work" and playing "a pivotal role in preparation of transparent rolls". Beed youth receives threat, communal abuse from social media user claiming to be from Pakistan, FIR registered
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A 24-year-old college student from Shirur Kasar in Beed district lodged a complaint with the local police, alleging he received abusive messages, religious slurs, and a threat from an Instagram user claiming to be based in Pakistan. Beed superintendent of police Navneet Kanwat said, "The Shirur police have registered an FIR under relevant sections and initiated an investigation. The identity and location of the suspect are being verified, and the cybercrime branch has been roped in to trace the origin of the messages. According to the FIR, the complainant, Suraj Gadekar, a resident of Shivajinagar in Shirur, told the police that the incident began on July 11 when he was watching reels on a social media platform. He came across a reel from a recent Bollywood movie and, in the comments section, noticed a highly objectionable comment posted by a user. Infuriated, Suraj confronted the user via direct messages, and both parties reportedly exchanged abuses over the following days. During the chats, the accused allegedly claimed to be from Karachi, Pakistan, and shared his location. The complaint further states that the accused made derogatory remarks about deities and practices and shared provocative audio clips and reels targeting a particular religion. The situation escalated on July 29 when the complainant received an audio message from the accused. In the voice clip, the sender allegedly said he needed 50 men to blow up a prominent religious place and offered Rs 1 lakh each to those who joined. He also referred to supplying RDX for the operation and demanded contact details of anyone willing to assist.

Bhupesh Baghel, Son Move Supreme Court Over CBI, Probe Agency Role In Liquor Case
New Delhi: Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and his son Chaitanya Baghel have approached the Supreme Court, seeking the legal authority and jurisdiction of central investigative agencies-the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED)-in probing alleged irregularities linked to the multi-crore liquor scam in the state. The petition, according to reports, filed amid escalating political tensions, seeks clarity on whether the agencies have overstepped their mandate under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and other statutes. The matter is scheduled for hearing on Monday before a bench comprising Justice Suryakant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi. The move comes days after Chaitanya Baghel was arrested by the ED in connection with a Rs 2,160 crore liquor scam that allegedly operated during Bhupesh Baghel's tenure as Chief Minister. The ED claims that a parallel liquor distribution network siphoned off massive sums through unaccounted sales and illegal commissions, implicating several political and bureaucratic figures. Bhupesh Baghel has publicly denounced the arrest and subsequent raids at his Bhilai residence, calling them politically motivated and designed to suppress dissent. ED officials conducted raids at the Baghel family residence in Bhilai, Durg district, early in the morning on July 18. Chaitanya was taken into custody under Section 19 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The ED cited non-cooperation during the search as grounds for immediate arrest. Bhupesh Baghel publicly condemned the timing, calling it a "birthday gift" from the Central government and alleging political vendetta. The first ED raid at Bhupesh Baghel's Bhilai residence occurred on March 10, 2025.
