Seeb Club claims 3rd spot at Arab Men's Volleyball Club Championship
Seeb Club finished in third place at the 43rd Arab Men's Volleyball Club Championship, which concluded in Qatar on Saturday night. Oman's representative club at the Arabian Volleyball meet managed to defeat Qatar's Police SC by 3-1. The scoreline of the sets ended as follows: 25-22, 25-23, 25-20 and 25-21.
Oman's other representative in the tournament, Al Salam Club, completed the tournament in sixth place following their loss against Libyan Asswehly SC by the same result, 3-1, in the fifth and sixth playoff. The match sets finished at 25-23, 17-25, 25-20 and 21-25.
Seeb players began the match strongly against Qatar's Police SC, taking the first set 25-22. Saud al Maamari and his teammates then dominated, winning the following set by a three-point gap with the same score before the opponent bounced back in the third set, winning 25-20. In the concluding set, Seeb players, under the guidance of domestic coach Jamal al Maamari, confirmed their triumph, sealing the victory at 25-21. In the last edition of the tournament, the opponent had won against Seeb in the third and fourth playoff. Seeb's Ismail al Hedi won the best player award in the position of No 2.
In the semifinal of the Arabian tournament, Seeb suffered a 3-2 loss against Egypt's Al Ahli SC, while Egypt's Zamalek SC were crowned champions of the tournament following their 3-0 win over Zamalek SC in the concluding match.
Seeb head coach, Jamal al Maamari, said: "This is the second time we have won the bronze medal in the Arabian tournament. Our target was to win a better position, but I hope to represent the team much better in the forthcoming editions. It was a golden participation for Seeb Club in this event, and great thanks to Seeb's board directors for their continuous support," he concluded.

Seeb, Al Shabab all set for Super Cup clash in Salalah
MUSCAT: HM Cup champions Al Shabab will eye to lift their maiden Super Cup title as they will take on Seeb, defending champions of Omantel league, on Saturday night. The match will take place at Al Saada Sports Complex in Salalah under the auspices of Dr Mahad bin Said Baowain, Minister of Labour, in presence of Sayyid Sulaiman bin Hamoud al Busaidy, Chairman of Oman Football Association (OFA) and top dignitaries. The match will kick off at 7:30 pm, to commence officially the new domestic footballing season 2025/2026. This is the second time that Salalah has hosted the Super Cup following successful organisation of Super Cup in 2022 edition in which Seeb defeated Al Nahdha 2-0 at the same venue. Ahead of their arrival, the two sides geared up for the season-opening clash through series of warm up sessions in their internal camps. Al Shabab, under technical guidance of Omani experienced coach Hassan Rustam, has bolstered their ammunition ahead of the new season. Oman U-23 edge Bahrain in Bishkek International friendly opener
MUSCAT, JULY 18 The Oman U-23 Olympic team began their campaign in style at the four-team international friendly in Bishkek city, Kyrgyzstan with a 1-0 victory over Bahrain on Thursday. The only goal of Oman team scored by Abdulaziz al Shaqsi in the second half of the match sealing a well-deserved win at Dostuk Arena in Besh-Kungey village. The match saw a balanced first half with both sides testing each other's defenses but failing to convert chances. It was in the second half that Oman showed more urgency as Abdulaziz al Shaqsi managed to break the deadlock and score a decisive strike. In another match of the same event, the hosts Kyrgyzstan suffered to a 2-1 defeat against Syria on Thursday at Dolen Omurzakov Stadium in Bishkek city. Oman team will take on the hosts Kyrgyzstan on Sunday and then they will wrap up their fixtures against Syria on Wednesday. The tournament served as a key preparatory stage for Oman's participation in the upcoming AFC U-23 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026 Qualifiers which is scheduled in September. Oman drawn in Group F, alongside Iraq, Pakistan, and hosts Cambodia. Their qualifier campaign will begin on September 3 against Cambodia, followed by matches against Iraq on September 6, and Pakistan on September 9.
