Seeb, Al Shabab all set for Super Cup clash in Salalah
MUSCAT: HM Cup champions Al Shabab will eye to lift their maiden Super Cup title as they will take on Seeb, defending champions of Omantel league, on Saturday night. The match will take place at Al Saada Sports Complex in Salalah under the auspices of Dr Mahad bin Said Baowain, Minister of Labour, in presence of Sayyid Sulaiman bin Hamoud al Busaidy, Chairman of Oman Football Association (OFA) and top dignitaries. The match will kick off at 7:30 pm, to commence officially the new domestic footballing season 2025/2026. This is the second time that Salalah has hosted the Super Cup following successful organisation of Super Cup in 2022 edition in which Seeb defeated Al Nahdha 2-0 at the same venue. Ahead of their arrival, the two sides geared up for the season-opening clash through series of warm up sessions in their internal camps. Al Shabab, under technical guidance of Omani experienced coach Hassan Rustam, has bolstered their ammunition ahead of the new season. Ahli Sidab, Masirah dominate U-18 league openers
MUSCAT: Ahli Sidab team secured a sweeping 10-0 victory over Al Nahda in the opening match of the Junior U-18 Hockey League , within the first group competitions, held at the Oman Hockey Complex in Al Amerat. Ahli Sidab started the game strongly, opening the scoring early in the 3rd minute through player Rashid al Alawi. Despite Al Nahda's efforts to find an equaliser, both teams exchanged chances until Ahli Sidab doubled their lead in the 14th minute with a goal by Haitham al Wahaibi, ending the first quarter 2-0. In the second quarter, Al Nahda showed improvement and sought to reduce the gap, but Ahli Sidab maintained their lead, keeping the score unchanged at 2-0 by the end of the quarter. The third quarter saw Ahli Sidab increase their tally, with Saeed al Fazari scoring the third goal in the 33rd minute. He then added the fourth goal in the 41st minute, ending the quarter 4-0 in favor of Ahli Sidab. In the final quarter, Al Nahda's performance dropped noticeably, allowing Ahli Sidab to dominate and control the match.
