Summer nights are in full swing.
And to kick off the season, John Travolta made a surprise appearance at a 'Grease' sing-along at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Friday night.
The actor, 71, dressed as his beloved character, Danny Zuko, from the 1978 musical comedy. He wore his hair slicked back and rocked his signature leather jacket.

The clip showed the 'Pulp Fiction' alum walking out as the crowd went wild before Travolta joined his stunned 'Grease' co-stars — Barry Pearl, Michael Tucci, Kelly Ward, Didi Conn, and the film's director Randal Kleiser — on stage.
In classic Zuko fashion, Travolta addressed the audience, stating: 'L.A., I thought you were going back to Australia? That's cool, that's cool, baby. You know, riding and rollin' and whatnot.'
The stars of 'Grease' then gave the crowd a 'A-wop-bop-a-loo-bop, a-wop-bam-boom' from the song 'We Go Together' before Travolta concluded: 'Enjoy the show. We love you!'

'Grease' follows a group of high school kids in the 1950s, with Travolta starring opposite Olivia Newton-John as Sandy Olsson.
Their on-screen love story was one for the ages, with the cast members staying close until the 'Physical' singer died in 2022 at age 73 from breast cancer.
Travolta is no stranger to fan sing-alongs, as in 2019, he and Newton-John dressed up as their respective characters during a 'Meet n' Grease' sing-along event in Florida.

Travolta got candid about stepping back into the role for one night, expressing to People: 'For whatever reason, like the bald head suits me, so does that '50s get-up better than any other hairdo.'
He added, 'So either I'm gonna go bald or wear a Danny '50s hairdo. It suits my appearance.'
Newton-John chimed in, 'That movie is still loved … the excitement from the people, it was amazing. I couldn't believe it, people still love it!'

In 2018, the stars celebrated the 40th anniversary of 'Grease,' with the British-Australian actress telling People at the time, 'We did something life-changing, making that film.'
'[At the premiere] you got the feeling from the energy that something was happening,' Newton-John reflected. 'It was a huge response. I feel grateful to be a part of that and to have worked with him. We've stayed friends ever since.'
The 'Xanadu' vet also touched on her friendship with the 'Cash Out' star, sharing that 'in [tough times] John always reaches out to me.'

Travolta echoed his co-star's sentiments, explaining that 'when you share that kind of meteoric success — and nothing has been able to exceed it — you share a bond.'
'I've been through her having a child, getting divorced, losing her sister,' the actor noted. 'She's been through my getting married, having children. It's wonderful and full of shared memories.'
Travolta tied the knot with Kelly Preston in 1991 and is dad to daughter Ella Bleu, 25, and son Benjamin, 14. The pair's oldest son, Jett, died of a seizure in 2009.
Preston died from breast cancer at age 57 in 2020.

Newton-John, meanwhile, married John Easterling in 2008, and the two shared daughter, Chloe, 39.
At the time of Newton-John's death, Travolta took to Instagram to pen a touching tribute to his longtime pal.
'My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better,' he began. 'Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again. Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, your John!'

New baby shower trend avoids ‘I hate people watching me open gifts' awkwardness

In news that might make you want to do a little happy dance, expectant moms are changing up their approaches to gifts at baby showers. 'Display Showers' are growing in popularity; where hosts encourage guests to bring their presents unwrapped, with simply a tag identifying who it's from. The gifts are then 'displayed' in an arrangement where people can still see and talk about the products, but aren't held hostage to an hour of unwrapping, and pretend oohing over every item. What is a 'Display Shower'? Babylist, a registry site for parents-to-be, recently surveyed users to understand what's driving the trend. According to their research, skipping the public present opening takes the pressure off the mom-to-be, and gives guests more time to enjoy each other's company. 'I am pretty introverted and feel awkward opening so many gifts in front of everyone, but I know some people really love seeing all the baby stuff, so I thought this was a perfect way to please everyone,' a pregnant woman told the site. Additionally, many parents shared they valued decreasing waste, and the costs associated with wrapping. 3 The gifts are then 'displayed' in an arrangement where people can still see and talk about the products. pressmaster – Respondents' main tip when it came to hosting a Display Shower?
